Ahahah i wish i was born in the 90's well if i wasnt my family treated my like it im not kidding the first console i had and game i played was the nes and original mario bros good times. *Starts tearing up because of nostalgia*
@@mobertlawl Awe, l feel you bro. I was born in 1998 and one of the first games l played was actually mario 64 on my ds, but by using an R4 card. I also played together with my friends as a kid and omg it was soo much fun. l miss those simpler times, it was magical being a kid and the feeling of playing Mario with someone you love was the best thing in the world. 😭😭
For me, Super Paper Mario on the Wii was a great game that I played many times when I was younger. I always loved defeating the bosses and unlocking the next area. It was a lot of fun and a unique experience.
I agree. It could’ve definitely replaced Super Mario Sunshine on this list (it was just lucky to even make it to the top 10 considering the fact that there are hundreds of Mario games, but even PBG himself sounds like this game would be an honourable mention at best). The GameCube version has a lot of good and bad qualities (it’s a lot of fun because it presents a lot of insanity in its visuals plus the Sand Bird music is the best soundtrack in this game, but there’s no denying it can be really frustrating in terms of its missions (re: the ones where you have to get the Blue Coins, Princess Peach not doing things for herself and other problems PBG himself mentioned) and the Switch version of this (and Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy via Super Mario 3D All-Stars) is… well… m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-U7ggERRZR3Y.html Power to those that like this game, but I think the definitive version of SM64 will always be the N64 version (which topped the list, and while not my personal favourite Mario game (that would be Mario 3 or the Mario RPGs before Sticker Star or Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii).
The Mario alphabet: A is for (yoshi) Apple B in for Bosses C is for Capture Card D is for Desert E is for English F is for Find the princess G is for Goal post H is for Help the toads I is for Iggy J is for Jump K is for Koopa troopa L is for Lose M is for (obviously) Metroid N is for Nobody cares about this alphabet that i'm making up as i go along O is for Options P is for Power mushroom Q is for... uh... Super Mario galaxy is my all time favorite. Epic music, awesome gameplay, new characters and just so much different types of levels. I just absolutely love it and just listening to the music brings back good memories.
I ACCEPT, I TAKED IT SERYUSLY AND THESE ARE MY REAL BESTS BECHOSE (ALL THESE GAMES UP THERE IS WHAT MY PARENTS GIVED ME AS PRESENT( AND SUPER MARIO XALAXY AND XALAXY2 ;()
No one is going to see this but whatever My top 10: 10.Mario party(all of them) 9.Mario and Luigi superstar saga 8.Paper Mario 7.Mario Kart Double Dash 6.Super Mario 3D Land 5.Super Mario RPG 4.Super Mario Bros. 3 3.Super Mario World 2.New Super Mario Bros. Wii 1.Super Mario Galaxy(both of them since they're kinda the same)
+Justin Fong My absolute favorite Mario game is Mario and Luigi Partners in Time. Seeing the babies and adult Bros. interact always brought a smile to my face :).
Your'e not exactly nostalgia blind. A lot of these third party developers just don't give a shit about being ambitious with your work. Nowadays it's all about pumping out sequels and not caring if people complain as long as they keep purchasing the same game every year. Nintendo is different because they are still putting their blood, sweat, and tears into their games. The only reason why these third party developers don't want to make games on the WiiU is because it's not profitable because they have to dish out more money to work with innovation. I finally got the WiiU and despite some of the successes and failures of some of their games as of late, the WiiU is still a console that brings out that child-like splendor I had when I had a GameCube.
It's pretty much that to port a game from Xbox One to Ps4, you do some re-coding, and done. But if you wanna port it to Wii U, you have to figure out new controls and ways to play with the gameplay. Which takes more work, time and money. But whatever. At least *we* know where the fun is at. :D
There was a Mario manga back in the day, it introduced something that was kinda controversial in that they gave Mario a sword. Yeah it was a mushroom gladius sword called the kinoko blade. I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing it in a game as a mechanic where it’s fueled by mushrooms or coins
Well, just played through Super Mario 3D World, and I gotta say I loved it. Almost all the levels felt unique and different from each other, the soundtrack is actually different and not that re-used crap from the NSMB series, and the cat suit is actually pretty cool ( I was one of the people that just scoffed at the idea ). It's not nearly as epic as Galaxy was, but it's pure platformer bliss.
+liam greaney I beat that stupid pit of One Hundred Trails challenge. That thing is ANNOYING. And, spoilers ahead, All you get for the one-hundred Samurai challenge is Paper Mario TTYD character cards, and for the harder dark Pit of 100 trials, where every enemy is pitch black and their stats go through the roof, the game makes you do it TWICE to complete it. TWICE! It's really not worth it honestly.
eh. I like Sunshine more than 64. cause while the idea that you can take on any star in any order is cool. I like how sunshine had an actually believable world for you to go through. I mean, sorry, but the levels in 64 never looked like real places. They all looked like level design. I'd never believe somebody could actually live in most of those locations. While in sunshine, the places you went felt like real places. The people there were having a crisis, and you went and saved them, and they thanked you for it. It was cool to see Isle Delfino as an actual location. Not to say all Mario levels should be like this, or that levels that aren't are bad, I just really like that sunshine's levels were like that. It made going around completing challenges and beating bosses feel more rewarding.
Even though I like Mario 64 more than Sunshine, I will say that I think Sunshine aged better than 64. I'm sorry but I don't think 64 aged very well. Don't get me wrong, I still love the game, but I will admit that the game does have it's issues. The two biggest issue that I've found in 64 is that it one, it lacks directions. They don't give you that much hints on how to get some of the stars in the game. (Blast Away the Wall & Watch for Rolling Rocks being the most infamous for that.) the second is that the boss fights in 64 are absolutely pathetic, especially the Bowser fights. Those bosses are not even worthy to be called bosses. Hell even the bosses in Mario World put up a more challenge than the bosses in 64. Overall, I don't think 64 is a terrible game, hell I still play it to this day, but that's mostly because I grew up with the game & that I know everything about that game by heart. But playing it again, I realize that 64 really hasn't aged well. I wouldn't recommend 64 to newcomers. I think 64 is a type of game for long time fans only who grew up with the game.
What's wrong with the water pump? It lets you hover around for a moment, which increases the distance you can travel in air, and the accuracy with where you land. and the rocket and turbo nozzle helped bring a little more variety in how to get around. The FLUD gave the player more ways to explore the levels, so they could get creative with how they traversed it. I found it really fun. And what about 64 made you enjoy it more than sunshine?
LaMereACaniche That sounds like sarcasm. I didn't say mario should be realistic, I said I liked the fact that the world of Isle Delfino felt more genuine. The fact that Isle Delfino is the actual home of people that I'm saving, filled with tons of locals with things to say, and opinions, helped me engross myself in the world more. I'm not saying I want an uber-realistic mario game, but rather a mario game that's maybe a little more relatable. Even then though, I don't mind the other mario titles. I still have fun, I still enjoy myself. Sunshine's just my favorite cause I liked the environment best.
Here's my list: 10. Mario Sports Mix 9. Super Mario 3D Land 8. Mario Kart Wii/Mario Kart 8 7. New Super Mario Bros. 6. Super Mario 3D World 5. Super Paper Mario 4. Super Mario Maker 3. Super Mario Galaxy 2. Super Mario 64 1. Super Mario Galaxy 2

Am I the only one who disagrees with PBGs thoughts on Sunshine? I'd put it at second place after Super Mario 64. The controls are god fucking PERFECT. So very responsive. Feels amazing just traverisng the levels, not to mention it's the last 3D Mario game we got that had persistent levels and ground...how I miss it..
"It's even fun to roll around on a ball!" -Music changes- "I got this, I got this..." -Music speeds up- "C'mon, C'mon, C'mon..." -Mario falls- "FUMBUCKETS!!!"
Watching Old PBG videos I keep thinking "righhttttt I remember this came out like 2 years ago" then I look and it says 2013..and I'm just feeling weird cuz I used to watch him from when I was in 6th grade and I graduated high school 2 years ago GAHHH THIS IS WEIRD! But man did PBG make my middle school life way easier
The Top 10 Super Mario Games (not including 'NSMB.'): #1 SMB3 #2 Galaxy 2 #3 World #4 Galaxy #5 3D World #6 64 #7 3D Land #8 Sunshine #9 SMB1 #10 SML2: 6 Golden Coins
Why ISN'T Luigi better than Mario? He can shoot lightning from his hands and walk on water. WATER! Hes like Zeus mixed with Jesus (if this offends you just ignore it).
Thousand Year Door is actually my very favorite Mario game, and I replayed it recently and loved it just as much as when I was a kid. Definitely worth picking up PBG. :)
Zomg, Best Mario Games Ever: 1. Super Princess Peach 2. Paper Mario: Sticker Star 3. Super Mario Pinball 4. Mario Teaches Typing 5. Hotel Mario 6. Mario Party 9 7. Mario's Early Years 8. Mario is Missing 9. Mario Party 10 10. Marios Time Machine
1. Super Mario Galaxy (quarter gameplay, quarter soundtrack, half nostalgia) 2. Super Mario Sunshine (the gameplay is FRICKIN PERFECT, just such a masterpiece) 3. Super Mario 64 (I might not like this game enough) 4. Super Mario Bros 3 (2d platforming gold) 5. Super Mario Bros (need I say more?) 6. New Super Mario Bros U (just a really fun game) 7. Mario Kart 8 (YES!!!!!!!) 8. New Super Mario Bros (brilliant! Just brilliant! My dog literally ate the card though, so I can't play it) 9. Super Mario Bros 2 (turnips!) 10. Mario Kart Double Dash!! (the GameCube will always have a place in my heart) Now, before you kill me with that pitchfork that you're holding, I have never played Super Mario World, but I'm getting a snes this summer so I will get it.
***** well I didn't know it was new. And I don't think it's called that. It's the game with that one book and that butterfly pixel that follows you around.
I don't know why, but I always preferred the RPGs with a main hub world and objective than the others. It is why I liked M&L: Partners In Time, Paper Mario: TTYD and Super Paper Mario (I know it's not technically an RPG). For instance, M&L: Partners In Time's hub world was Peach's Castle and main objective was to collect the Cobalt Star Shards to stop the Shroobs - simple. Paper Mario: TTYD's hub world was Rogueport and main objective was to find the Crystal Stars to open the TYD - simple. And Super Paper Mario's hub world was Flipside and main objective was to find the Pure Hearts and close the Void.
All the others are good and all, but seem a bit all over the place. Superstar Saga doesn't count as there was no hub world and the Bean Star collecting was quite late into the game. Bowser's Inside Story also didn't count - although the hub world was inside Bowser, there was no hub world for Bowser. Also, the main objective has to go on for the entire game, but the Cure-hunting was only in the middle of the game. And Dream Team was the same - no hub world and the Ulti-bed thing was only in the middle. Basically, those 3 RPGs were all over the place, which is why I prefer the others (apart from BiS because that is my favourite RPG of all time) P.S If anyone is wondering about Sticker Star, we do not talk about that one.
I think all Mario games should be in the style of Sunshine or Mario 64: giant and awesome overworld, only a few worlds but they have 10 tasks each. And everything doesn't necessarily have to be done in order
Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix would honestly be number 1 or 2 on my list, no joke. It's such a fun game to replay as it's story mode is so quick and the remixes in the game are awesome. Right off the top of my head I can think of Underground Mozart, Always Smiling, Deep Freeze, Boo Boogie and Hammer Dance being some of my favorite video game songs.
That Beethoven scene lol. Seriously , I've seen about a hundred other comparable scenes in other movies, as if the director figured no one would notice or care; two-player fighting games, but four people in the room have controllers; one player games like Zelda, but multiple people are trying to control at once; in one particularly distressing case I recall from some old show when I was a kid, the television character was playing a Mario game but, when we back up and look at the scene, the player is using a Sega Genesis controller.
12:05 "One thing I just love about Mario 64 as opposed to the other 3d Mario games like Galaxy is that each level has multiple stars" Uh.. Can I just say that Galaxy also has multiple stars.... just saying.
just out of my own nostalgia i'd have to say my favorite marios are super mario sunshine, luigi's mansion, and super mario galaxy, i really loved the first two and i remember watching my cousin play galaxy when i was younger which led to me playing it
In no particular order. 10. Mario Party 1-7 9. Dr. Mario 8. Paper Mario 7. Paper Mario TTYD 6. Mario Kart DD 5. Super Mario Bros 4. Super Mario Bros. 3 3. Mario Kart 64 2. Super Smash Bros. 1. Super Mario 64 Honorable mentions - New Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart Wii, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, and Super Mario World
Briantos Smith Three things: 1. That hurts. 2. Being different doesn't mean i'm young 3. Gah, okay, i admit it - I am 12, but that doesn't change anything. I just find SM64's controls to be very sloppy and hard to work with. Super Mario 64 DS's controls are a little better, at least for me. I really prefer any other classic mario game over SM64, except Super Mario bros 2 in the USA.
That would be an AWESOME mario game to start on! XD Hey whats this!? A mario game? Oh, never played mario before I wonder what they are like....2 seconds later... OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH MAAAAH GOOSHHHH!
***** ug to be honest I didn't like that one so much... classic side scroller type mario games are actually my least favorite of the mario series, with the exception to super mario world. The newer mario sidescroller/platformer games are much more lively and diverse in the game and not as much repetitive maneuvering like new super mario bros for the DS
My Top 10 1. Super Mario World 2. Super Mario Bros. 3 3. Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island 4. Super Mario 64 5. Super Mario Galaxy 2 6. Super Mario 3D World 7. Super Mario Galaxy 8. Super Mario Sunshine 9. Super Mario Bros. 2 10. Super Mario Bros
I do wish if they remake games they wold do them for the Wii U instead. Mario 64 DS could have been so much nicer too look at with just a few tweaks such as what was done in the Wind Waker update. Mario 64 DS just looks so pixelated it's horrible
Not really. You know the entire title of Yoshi's Island? "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island" So, using your logic...is Rambo III a different franchise from First Blood? In two words: SAME FRANCHISE. ;)
FreddyPingus It has Yoshi play as the main character. A title of a game doesn't define it. When I hear Yoshis island I only hear and care about that; Yoshi. Just like Yoshis story, Yoshis island DS and new island. This video is focused on Mario based games, not Yoshi.
1. Super Mario 64 2. Mario Kart 8 3. Super Mario World 4. Super Mario Galaxy 2 5. Super Mario 3D Land 6. Super Mario Maker 7. Mario Strikers Charged 8. Super Mario Galaxy 9. Super Mario Sunshine 10. Super Mario 3D World
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is probably one of the best examples of a sequel I've ever played. Not only did it improve on the battle system from the first game, it continued the trend of imaginative characters (especially the bosses), great storylines, and lengthy gameplay as well as giving you new ways to explore areas and even changing things up a bit with the Bowser levels. It's a shame the two Paper Mario games that followed were nowhere near as good as the first two since they strayed from the RPG formula that made them so great in the first place.
i agree with you buddy although i have not played the bumper stickers one. I did not enjoy super paper mario as much because it did not have the rpg system. the 1,000 year door is amazing and is definitely in my top 10 mario games
