Seer's recent debut saw him sporting a tactical ability that gives him wall hacks, health and shield status, a flash, stun, heal and revive interrupt *and* 10 damage. This alone is absurd but in conjunction with his other passive and ultimate abilities is possibly the most broken character I've seen since Guile in that chipped SF2 cabinet at the pizzeria in middle school.

Apex legends Seer: Has a heartbeat sensor with a range of 75m. Ult recharges in 90 seconds. Q ability reveals enemies for 8 seconds, interrupts heals and revive, flashes and stuns you. Seer has been out long enough to be put on this list.

Mercy was undoubtedly even more broken after her first rework. She was an absolute must pick at every elo for nearly a year during the moth-meta, and even into the double sniper meta.

Mercy's OG res I've definitely been a victim of; in three words you go from elated for scoring a potential team wipe with your ult to screaming obscenities in your head if not out loud.

Ah the classic "you either kill Mercy 1st or you kill her 11th"

ngl the Tempest was only a real problem in pro play when Dashy was using it, most pros couldn’t rly do much half the time

For the record, Meta Knight's neutral B wasn't his best movie. That was his up-B, which was invulnerable on grounded startup, had insane range, was a reliable kill move, a fantastic recovery option, AND led into a mixup.

The Super Yun Fighter IV era may be the point where Ono started to outstay his welcome in the eyes of the fans. In term of other reigns, there's GT Goku in Dragonball FighterZ (He got nerfed eventually), the whole spat of OP Belial in Granblue Versus (not sure if that got addressed yet), but back on Street Fighter there was Elena and her heals (There's good reason why it was a long bar/short stock super in the SF3 games)

it amazes me when TF old ult is considered broken in LoL but NP 20s teleportation (or 0s on Talent) is balance to the Dota's environment.

I'd argue Mercy's OG Valkyrie was way more busted than mass Rez. At least in those days, any team that had a flanker with two braincells could kill the Mercy, or at least pressure her into making a mistake. But the first iteration of Valk was just... not okay. Not only did it let Mercy fly around like a DBZ character, not only did it share her already good heals and damage throughout the whole team with no reduction, but it INSTANTLY recharged her Rez upon activation, AND lowered the CD from 30 to 10 seconds. Keep in mind that when she was reworked, her Rez was cast IMMEDIATELY. So if you played your cards right, you could potentially revive 4 people during Valk, all while healing the whole team and being absurdly hard to kill. I'll take that over a 5-man Rez any day of the week.

About #2's entry. The note about how rare teleport abilities are is made even funnier because the example they gave (Tahm Kench's Abyssal Voyage) has been since reworked into a much shorter non-ultimate skill rather a half-map-wide teleport.

I'm not entirely sure for how long it was possible but I still remember a huge bug in Titanfall 2. There's a titan called "Ion" that has a defensive shield which can gather bullets fired at him for a certain amount of time. The intended mechanic was that the bullets would repell to its sender and causing some damage. But for some time it was possible to shoot them back into the ground right before an enemy and almost insta kill him due to unintended splash damage. It wasn't extremely broken but it made playing against Ion really tough at the time haha

Meta knight also had a move so broken it was a banned tactic, I forget the exact I put, but it's something like go invisible and keep hitting smash attack up or something, and you can keep the invincibility forever and end the move whenever you wanted. Or at least that's what I remember, I heard about that from a video a long time ago

i actually liked the og days of lion ... going up against operators so broken like black beard and lion and hackal, ahem i mean jackal. was a challenge and actually beating the absolute crap out of those people and getting an ace against the ones that drop their standards so low as to bring broken ops really gave me a confidence boost. cause ever since i came back siege hasn't felt the same. siege hasn't been challenging enough to keep my skills the way they were. i used to have a 87% headshot kill ratio. and the rest of that was either valk cam kills, sledge kills, or ash charge kills. now siege is depressing.

I am very surprised that I did not see Seer on this list as he even made a video about how he is the most broken legend to be released in Apex and even mentioned in the video that some people think he is the most broken character in video game history.

Why would you put old res as most broken ow ability. When they reworked mercy she went from not being in the meta to being the meta: moth meta. So much more stuff that has been much more broken: old brig ult, brig bash, brig shield, brig... or sigmas old shield, sigmas old shift. bap imortality field or you know the reworked mercy ult which was completly op when they reworked her.

Imagine making a character so heavily overpowered on launch that it needed 14 consecutive nerfs, a re-work, and another several nerfs to be balanced.

I was thinking about old League abilities, but they were generally broken. The original Sion Q, what was an 1,1x AP scaling, point and click stun what basically oneshot carrys was for me the most annoying spell in the whole game.

I like that Nature Prophet's current spell, in league, is this broken.

idk if jumpforce was considered esports, but there was a point in its history where if you didn't play Sasuke you would just lose. They gave him a tracking, unlockable attack that stayed on the ground and took up 1/4 of the map, and was a guaranteed confirm into his ult, which was the 2nd strongest in the game and did basically half your healthbar.

Original Eve for LoL could perma invis, buy multiple Sunfires Capes and walk next to you until you died.

I feel like bugged dota abilities shouldn't be on this list. I want to see stuff developers playtested and still actively chose to put in, not random exploits

They didn't change Mercy ult because it was OP. They just wanted to get rid of the hide and seek playstyle. She was nearly never picked in progames before at all. But after the rework she had a near 100% pickrate in OWL and was imo almost on par with launch Brig and launch Sigma in terms of how broken she was.

I think pre-yesterdays seer tactical, or passive, or ultimate could've made his list. With his passive alone, he could ditect another player's location by just ads-ing; on another note, his tactical: blinded the enemy, revealed the enemy, revealed health bar of the enemy, silenced the enemy, stopped enemy reviving his teammate or him healing himself, and damaged the enemy.... and yes, he could do it to anybody in his passives range behind a wall... sounds pretty op to me I gotta admit, OH and I didn't mention that he outclassed other recon legends and countered gibby, aka. The best legend of the game back from season 4 or 5 to 10, and that's not all since he could throw his ult down and if you moved on any surfuce, CONGRATULATIONS he and his team-mates know where you are. Seer at the launch of season 10 was a cluster f#!k and too op for the game. His tactical could've easily achived #6 place without any problem

Bit of an out there example but in Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code there’s a character called Michael Roa who could summon lighting orbs in the air. If the opposing character switched sides than the orbs would also switch sides, the actual lighting covers around 3/4 of the screen, they were air unblockable, plus on ground block, lead to crossups, and was comboable on hit. He’s ARGUABLY the strongest character in the game

Surprised brig wasnt on here. Signal's left click damage upon release was also broken. If you could aim it properly, you could one shot a tracer and do a fair amount of damage to other DPS rushdown characters.

I might be splitting hairs here but it's worth mentioning that Twisted Fate is NOT the original iteration of the champion. That champion's name was Cardmaster. And Twisted Fate was the revision. They are technically different entities though.

The fact that Seer didn't make this list shows that The Score really doesn't play Apex. Either that or the writers just got hit by his Q.

Well if we're taking glitches on the list, we should also mention one which happened in the early days in DoTA (when it was a W3 mod). Forgot the exact version number, but it bugged Yurnero, and he had 0 ultimate cooldown, so every teamfight broke down to Juggernaut spamming his ultimate... Needless to say it was fixed within days, but still, fun times. About Lion in Siege, I still stand by saying that Lion again proved that a game has multiple "faces". Yes, I understand that it was megafrigginOP in proleague, but in order for him to be megafrigginOP, you needed a real team, working together, using actual tactics, etc. In online play with randoms Lion was weak as hell even in his debut form, as people playing with him used his ability randomly, without communication, etc... So while playing Online, you rarely saw Lions even after a few weeks after his release (and even if you saw one, it was because he had a sweet gun). After the nerfs, the operator basically disappeared, and even if you met one, you usually saw them not even using their ability, as it was useless with random people.

Sigmas flux is kinda busted considering it can what a 2 ult combo can (nanoblade) but just a whole lot easier

Moth Meta Mercy’s rez was literally better though. The amount of rezzes per game went up, and if you remember, she had a 95% win rate

Top of my list would have been League's Aphelios on release. His ult Moonlight Vigil was sooooo broken

OG Ana Nanoboost was something else. It literally changed the game. Imagine today's nanoblades and beyblades but with an automatic Lucio speedboost. I reached GM from diamond by just playing with my Genji main duo. OG anti nade was also beyond broken. 100 healing, 100 damage for some stupid reason and anti healing ALL AOE. Try to 1v1 that DPS players. Land 1 on an enemy and they basically die Ah the good ol days

Originally lion ability did not work off of movement. It just shown everyone where the enemy team was. It was fixed only after the first week because of flood of complaints.

I played when Arc Warden was released, the hero was broken af. Infinite regen and undroppable divine. I also played when Lion was released, it was a nightmare teamed up with a blitz. Not on the list, but Seer on Apex Legends was also broken af. While these things were broken af, I'm glad to be a part of the history before they were nerfed.

If you were including bugged abilities like those two Dota 2 examples, you should have included the time in LoL that Anivia's Q was global. No, I don't mean the projectile had infinite range, I mean the _explosion_ of the ice blast had global range, automatically damaging and stunning every enemy on the map every time she cast it (which was faster than every 10 seconds). The game became literally unplayable in an instant until it was fixed, which it was pretty quickly.

Well they really beefed the mercy one. Original rez wasn't OP. They only changed it because it just wasn't a fun play style. When they changed it to valk and gave her 4 instant cast tempo rezzes, that was the most broken thing in Overwatch history. Go watch the start of OWL season 1 and tell me I'm wrong
