Dont cancel the list. For us, who understand what dissapointing means, it would just be less content cause of, you know, peeps who prolly buy Fifa every year.
_For us, who understand what dissapointing means_ Eat shit you pretentious fanboy. Don't act like you don't understand how easy it is for those two categories to overlap in more than ambigous ways. Like here, Fallout 76. Disappointing? That's debatable because nobody had any expectations for this game to begin with. Much like with Metal Gear Survive: everybody thought it would be trash and sure enough, trash it was. So, why is F76 in the Disappointing and Survive, no doubt, in Worst? Where do we draw the line? Do the ambitious and complex games that I assume you must play help you in answering that question?
@@yarpen26 Comparing Fallout 76 and Metal Gear Survive, like you did, its rather easy to different then from dissapointing and worst. First, Fallout. It was Bethesda, they have a record of making good games, some could say really good. So I know peeps had expectations for 76, even thou it did look grim for it from the start, it still was Bethesda, maybe they could pull this one off. But they didnt. Dissapointing. Now, on to Metal Gear Survive. It was a Metal Gear game, from Konami, without Kojima. No one expected anything from it cause of that very simple reason. So it pretty much cant be dissapointing.
I think that "The Most Disappointing Games" fits the mold of the channel. For years you've pointed out where developers, and publishers have failed their communities, and while some games are good, they do fail us in certain aspects (IE: Microtransactions). I come here to get away from hype and fanboy/girl bias, and to see a technical breakdown on ways to improve games. Please keep the most disappointing Joe.
I agree the more we have people saying YOU FAILED US! and the more we show our unhappiness but the hope they will fix their crap. Should benefit the company to go ok well they are still interested in us so lets fix it! Good Example: Final Fantasy 14. Cause the MINUTE we let them go the companies will go ok they calmed down so note to self rage lasts so long.. They get over it. No we need to not get over it ever. Cause we just can't let these fails slide. SO I agree keep showing the Most Disappointing games.
No!!! KEEP THE LIST, so entertaining. Each game review is summarized well to notify viewers of these disappointing games while still leaving them wanting for the full review which they go and look for and see. I look forward to this list every year and even watch old ones to remind myself of the still present and unfortunately growing slimy tactics of game publishers
I agree, not to mention, Joe _could_ even take some games and assign them to BOTH lists (disappointing & worst), if i.e. he was running short with the selection that year. -- Well, I guess with all the crap being shit out faster and faster for easy profit, it is unlikely to be able to run out! Lol :P
Don’t cancel this Joe, I love the fact that more games are covered by having more list videos, because in previous years you’ve had mostly completely different games on the disappointing list and the worst list. Plus, I enjoy watching both lists too so yeah. Please don’t cancel it! :)
Like Call of Duty Black Ops 4, perfect example. The game itself wouldn't show up on a 'Worst games of 2018' list but it showing up here is great, plus the reasoning you give here on this video as to what is disappointing about it is very justified because yeah, it could've been a solid 9 or 10 out of 10 so it showing up is pretty justified. Love more games like this showing up uniquely on lists like this :)
Agreed; usually worst games don't have any hype attached to them. Most disappointing games are those that had hype but come out with bad practices or marketing tricks that can only be placed on this list.
@@boogit9979 Well they had to come up with something since they want to squeze e v e r y s i n g l e p e n n y out of you. I suppose all thats left now is to charge you for savegamefiles or itemslots... oh wait...
the polish sniper girl yeah pretty cute to and young her husband was killed she joined up and become one of the world's greatest snipers of all time thanks Dell lol
I personally think the most disappointing series should stay, because theres a huge difference between a game being TERRIBLE, and a game just not living up to expectations and being, well, disappointing.
You're absolutely right. I'm a Battlefield V player but I 100% expected the game to be on Angry Joe's Dissapointing list. It was not a trash game like so many haters have been saying, but it left out so much at launch it's almost undefendable. I love the multiplayer but I'll be the first to admit that it has SEVERAL problems and issues that need correcting.
I like how he discusses what should've and/or could've been better with games on the Disappointing list, as opposed to just praising or lampooning games on the others. It brings out, imo, his best critiques.
I personally think Disappointing List is a valid one to keep. Disappointing and Worst are two very different things, and I like that the channel has enough nuance to know the difference.
I agree. Honestly, who has the time to intentionally purchase and play LEGITIMATELY bad games? I don’t get paid to play games and I have a backlog of over 25 very good, top-tier games that I purchased (plus nearly 50 free games) and haven’t had time to play just in the past 2 years. And I’d imagine he has more games to play than I do, and probably the same amount of time to play them. Playing bad games on purpose is crazy. Del is already playing 75% of the games.
It just means that, you had a game that had its heart in the right place, just wasn't executed properly and didn't live up to the hype or what was expected from it. Worst are the games that just have little to nothing redeemable about them because they are so bad. So yeah, its worth keeping around because disappointing doesn't mean it wasn't good in certain places.
Yes, and he should add a list of the most surprising games of the year, which is basically a game that comes either from out of the blue is assumed to become a bad game but actually turns out to be good/great.
As a frugal consumer, I'd say please don't get rid of this list. I usually wait to buy games on the cheap and this is way more informative to me than the WORST OF list! It's easy to spot a shit game, it's much harder to spot a game that's going to end up making you regret spending your money on it.
JOE KEEP THE DISSAPOINTING LIST. I think the people that say "it should be in the bad list" are the ones that are the most dissapointed/betrayed by the game. The line between dissapointing and bad can be pretty thin o guess. But KEEP THE DISSAPOINTING LIST
--- Agreed, there is a lot of games that "objectively" are not bad but they certainly don't either fulfil the hype-expectations or they just eventually turn into very disappointing experience ( E.G. "XCOM 2012" certainly was not able to fulfil my "XCOM-hunger" unlike "Xenonauts" did. And "Firefall" turned into a disappointment when it went from "sandbox"-style into a "yet-another-theme-park-full-of-gates / yet-another-World-of-Warcraft-with-guns-and-ghost-towns" and kept stripping-off content plus features as the time went on after the "release-version" ). --- --- ---
I second what you say blue77ewolf I think that because the game industry often lies about how good certain games are that people are often expecting the absolute greatest games in the world when they are announced that when people get their hands on the games themselves and their like a 7/10 people will hate it and say it sucks since the human brain can not properly process getting promised something increadible and only get something good or ok in a positive way I'd say only include disappointing games on the worst games list only if they truly are that bad games like atlas or fallout 76 and no man sky (atleast the original version) deserves to beon the worst games list because even if you detach all hype from the game they are still terrible in every sense of the word but a game like sea of theives should only go on disappointing list because it's a technical marvel and if you detach the hype from it it's a solid game
Most disappointing list is a different beast than worst games. Please keep it up as it often has to do with false advertising and misleading claims that should be denounced.
Metal Gear survive is worst I reckon but Fallout 76 definitely a disappointment (when they set the low bar AND still failed: canvas bag, privacy of consumers leaked, bugs and crashes, dark rum nuka cola plastic). It's not even the game anymore but Bethesda's fumbling focusing on marketing instead of a good product
I feel like the disappointing list is better than the worst list because a lot of bad games I’ve never even heard of and don’t care about end up in the worst list, while the disappointing list has a lot of the games we knew about and looked forward to.
mel b guess I have to spell it out for ya. Dunno if you watched til the end but joe asked if he should keep continuing the disappointing lists. My point here is, the worst games list doesn’t matter compared to this one because no one wants to play those games anyway.
This exactly the worst I can live without but this one really helps you navigate the choppy waters of well known games that fell short. Got to be honest I've been enjoying BFV but the criticism of it is justified especially the introduction of microtransactions at this point, it just like take the communities good will and flush it.
This is my favorite and imo most valuable list. "Bad" games are obviously shitty and I don't even consider buying them. But disappointing games - I had most of them on my mind, but not anymore - your work saved me some money.
Glad to see so many people agree that the "Most Disappointing" lists should be kept. It honestly is a worthwhile one imo because it addresses something else important other than just the absolute best or worst. It's important to give credit to the games like these and showcase that they could have and should have been MUCH better, even if they may be far from the worst at times.
@@Viper-dz2kw no? There was at least 3 years worth of that sort of thing...I never understood why that list stopped though. There's plenty of controversial stuff that happens in the gaming industry annually.
@@gameskyjumper1721 And, it was better than ever! Turns out, Top Ten Controversies just needed a break, for us to realize HOW much some of us missed that list. And, the list of worst games turned out much better this time too. Didn't expect it or Top Gaming Controversies to return like THIS. It went better than I thought or expected. I was beginning to think Joe was just going to focus on his news show and reviewing movies instead. Glad to see he's not too busy to crank out reviews and his best lists, the worst games list and the top controversies list. Let's hope he does these better and better, like he always does.
I say keep doing the disappointed list. There's a big difference between something being bad or disappointing and I think this a good way of showing games that should be better by developers that should know better as opposed to those that are just scams and trash. We have justified expectations when a big studio puts out a 'AAA' product for $60 or more and if they fail dramatically at reaching those they should be called out. I will say that I don't think the two are mutually exclusive, if something was really hyped up and was terrible it can be on both lists.
You should absolutely keep this list in the future. Your points are extremely valid and many listens, players and developers alike. It’s important making a difference between a dissapointing game and a straight off bad game. Dont listen to the small minority that doesnt like it, you and your crew rock fcking thunder lightning. Keep it up much love!!
The disappointing list is an absolute necessity in the gaming world today. So many games get away with mediocrity and putting them on his list calls that out specifically. The worst games list doesn't encapsulate expectations or promises broken. This list, however, does that very well. Please keep this format
@@ryanjapan3113 honestly I just watched one of my favourite bf youtubers play it and bf5 looked fairly fun and had some good QoL improvements to BF4. But I understand why joe critizies it. I mean shooting range not available? Another halfassed game by EA?
@@thetute59 I like it tbh, they made some updates and improvements to the game. Plus I bought the deluxe edition for 30 bucks so I'm not complaining lol.
I was already expecting fallout 76 to be bad, since elder scrolls online wasn't exactly good.. I just wasn't expecting fallout 76 to do as much damage as it did.
26:53 I like seeing Other Joe rant. Angry Joe savors his vitriol, but whenever Other Joe starts ranting, he always sounds so...betrayed. Like he's pissed, but his feelings are hurt too.
Totally agree. I like them both though. AJ is that righteous rage, voicing our community's anger at the producers and devs for us the way we want to, while OJ often shows more of the diversity of other emotions we feel as well, the sadness and loss and disappointment. AJ does at times too, but it is and should be more about the rage. Anger is a more powerful instrument of change against corporations than disappointment.
If we were to look deeper towards OJ and AJ. AJ represents the inner anger of the consumer while OJ represents the pain, shock and the feeling of betrayal. So no I Dare not say they are gamers just individually when actually their personas together form the gamer... Cleanup on aisle 1.... Because minds are blown...
Keep the series. It is just more great content from you guys and it's appreciated. I think it has its place even though it overlaps sometimes with the worst games, because the point you are making is different. Rather than focusing on overall game quality, this series stresses the disparity between what was promised and what was delivered.
Keep this series joe there are a few that I personally think should be on WORST list but it's a list of opinion and it's YOUR opinion. I always enjoy all the "top 10" lists you do :]
I'd actually argue that a Most Disappointing list says more than a Worst list. Anyone can go to the Steam store and find 10 terrible games, but Disappointing paints a more clear picture of expectations set and missed. AAA game companies who go for the quickest cash grab may not make "bad" games, the games themselves may be perfectly average, but it's when you pay $60 only to get less and less content that you feel cheated. And it's really important to keep track of who tends to fall into these trends each year.
I actually think that the Disappointing list and the Worst list both essential. Both let you see Joe get angry, but for different reasons. And I can’t help but enjoy Joe getting angry.
BaneOfTechnology I agree with this. Like I would never say SoT is the second worst game. But there was so much hype built up before it in Beta, with streamers playing it, was so excited to play it and then it was just the same exact thing as beta with no new content. For that I see how it fitted into the top 5. Still wouldn’t put it above atlas tho
@@maijami metal gear survive would be on the disappointing list for me. its still a game build on the incredible mgsv foundation and combat does open to much more than just spearing enemies in late game.
I'm surprised he can still do a worst game list, if I made a list it would be just Fallout 76, it was the only game that can be considered bad that I spent time in. I understand with critics and bad films, but games are so long that you will stop it before you can give it enough time to qualify for making a review for the game. t.
You should keep the Most Disappointing List going. There’s a difference between the worst games ever made and the most disappointing games ever made and I think it’s important that you draw the line somewhere to explain that. You wouldn’t put Ride to Hell as the most disappointing game ever made because it has nothing to live up to or build up to. You wouldn’t put Battlefield 2 as the worst game ever made because loot boxes aside, the core game is somewhat fun to play with for a while, even if it’s short. There’s a clear difference in what is what, and if you have to shorten the list down because there aren’t enough excuses to make it a Top 10 list, I say you should still take that chance. Besides, there’s a lot of worse games out there than the big names we got over the years and that just makes this list all the more important imo. This list helps expose these companies for trying to pull off shady businesses like loot boxes and cutting corners to make a quick buck. That’s what’s most important.
I would prefer you continue the top 10 disappointing games. They’re plenty entertaining and they get plenty of views. But do what you guys like to make.
The "Top 10 Most Disappointing Games" series is perfect. Why? Because it helps people that resists to be brainwashed by the social media / AAA gaming companies, to understand WHY this game was supposed be BETTER, why this other game SHOULD HAVE BEEN better. And specially, HOW THE CORPORATE RUINED the gameplay, ruined the fun, and based it's entire gameplay on microtransactions or forcing you to purchase SHIT that was suposed to be in the game, cutting down content just to sell it after. It's a series I can show to my friends, to share my hate on the modern game developing system. I love games, but with this "AAA" games actually LEADING the sells and being defended by so many dumb people.... Dark times are coming for the gaming community. If we keep FORGIVING games like Fallout 76 and saying "ITS OK...AT LEAST WE WILL HAVE ELDERS SCROLLS 6..." NO! NO STOP IT!
Everyone does a best and worst list... but this is the list we need. As long as game developers keep hyping their products, rapid fanbois keep eating this tripe, and the players are getting a mediocre game that is underdeveloped, over monetised, and just broken B grade games from AAA publishers... then this is the list we need. We need to hear it, they need to hear it, and everyone needs to learn from each of these games... especially when the product we are told to pre-order, is not the product sold to us on the day.
When I first saw this list, I was like "Man, why isn't Metal Gear Survive on this list? Did Joe forgot about it? " Then I realized ; A game has to *anticipated* first inorder to be disappointing. And I don't think ANYONE was looking forward to Metal Gear Survive.
You should definitely keep the Top 10 Most Disappointing list. There are just some games which do have potential or could have been better but sadly were let downs. This list definitely has it's place here.
Joe I REALLY like the series, for me it's the most interesting among the three. I also think a nice addition will be the top 10 games that defied expectations!!!
My thought exactly the same. 10 worst games are usually ones you don't care anyway and won't play it, won't even hear about it in most cases. I'm usually interested in Joe's 10 best games so I can compare it with my opinion and see if maybe I've missed something. Now 10 most disappointing is actually something good for discussion and really interesting, both regarding to Joe's opinion and comments of others. Worst games are made by devs that usually just do make shitty games so it's most of the time obvious, while here you can see companies that don't give a f** about customers and fans (Bethesda I'm looking at you). So yea, in my opinion 10 most disappointing games of the year series should stay.
Bethesda sacrificed the one thing they had and that's trust. Also everyone does best/worst of the year lists, the disappointing list is more unique to this channel afaik, so pls don't drop it :(
Random top 10 playthrough 1/62 26/01/2020 Brilliant AJ, love the content and production. Looking forward to more behind the scenes on Patreon. Keep up the great work guys, much appreciated
@@TheitaniofRome At the end of the video Joe asked if he should keep doing it. That was more what he was saying. I'm all for Joe contining the list. Most disapointing is important to help remind us when studios promise the world and then not deliver with false stuff, incompetance, or pushing it out the door too early. I mean in this day and age so many people forget the quote. "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
I love this the way it is. Best, worst, and disappointing. I think a lot of people read "disappointing" and think "worst" and that's where the viewer is in the wrong, not you. That's the whole point of this list; these games aren't theoretically the worst, they were just a massive letdown in comparison to their hype, reputation of the company, promising, etc. Keep doing what you do Joe/Other Joe/Del, never change!
No no no, please don't get rid of Most Disappointing Games. There is a difference. Some of these games are far from bad - but they are just not what to expect from an AAA developers. And honestly a list like this is what defines the Angry in AngryJoe.
Yes, scurvy was a major issue and I'm guessing even pirates will usually choose living over painful and draw out death. So, getting fresh fruit and veg was a surprisingly (or perhaps not so surprisingly) high priority for pirates. Still funny though :)
If people can't understand the difference between something being "bad" by some arbitrary measure and being "disappointing" to a person (or in general, depending on the game) that's on them, not you man. Keep the list as it is - I enjoy getting to see what the end result of each year was disappointment wise, since I tend to not follow the scene much beyond "hey, I want X game" maybe once a year -- it really helps me know what's up. Example: I had no idea State of Decay 2 was a letdown. Don't doubt it. I want to get it but I haven't bothered, and yeah, now I know it may not be anything too special when I get it. By comparison, I don't care about Fallout, but knew 76 was just... no... just no... and sure enough it was the top one on this list. Why? Because, so much hype, so little delivery, so much failure. That, right there, is the definition of disappointing as far as a game goes. EDIT: Whoa I didn't expect this to get so many likes. Uh, thanks everyone! Glad my little rant hit home for over 100 of you as I type this. :D Hope you have a great day! EDIT 2: 500 likes the next morning wow >_>
Fr we click on his shit to get his opinion any ways like wth😂😂😂 I mean not saying I follow everything he says it's just entertaining to hear his point of view
I would say keep it because disappointing does not necessarily mean bad even though it's likely. Also it means we can get a great video with really bad games that weren't a disappointment to begin with but deserve to be highlighted because of how much they suck.
when you find out Todd "The Clod" howard learned in the same school of thought as peter molyneux. sixteen times the graphics, *be still my beating heart. *this statement is equivocal to "My Foot" in this context.
The disappointing list NEEDS TO STAY!!! I was super excited for tomb raider, and though not a bad game, it was completely underwhelming compared to the previous 2! I'm actually glad that made your list!
AJ can do whatever he wants imo. I like the dissapointing-list, because it's more content. It also makes some important points about the shady business tactics nowdays.
76 was disappointing but it's getting fixed, and in fact last update was a huge list of fixes and things the players asked. Also Sea of Thieves is great now.
@@Ins4n1ty_ Stop lying to yourself XD The list of things broken in fallout 76 is ALOT larger than the things they actually fix. Sea of Thieves is still lacking in the content that gives players a reason to continue to explore, quest or even fight one another. Players don't know specifically what they want from a video game, but I can tell you one thing for things im looking for in pirate games, and Sea of Thieves or Atlas definitely was not it. Assassins Creed IV Black Flag was a better pirate game than both of these games, and its not even intended to be that type of game. It is a game about Assassins after all lol
I really like the disappointing list, I've always thought it was cool that you had this in addition to your best and worst. It helps separate you from everyone else making lists and gives you a chance to cover stuff that wasn't THAT AWFUL, but still needs to be noted for failing to meet customer expectations.
I agree 100% on the microtransactions in Red Dead Online. A beta should never have them. Rockstar has not been updating us on what features they are planning to add . However many people are forgetting that gta online was in the same state when it first launched . It had no real activities except contact missions . Gta Online did not become what it is now until larger updates in 2015. I am confident in Red Dead Online adding bigger content in the future . I just can’t believe they added a battle royale recently . Who asked for that ? I want to have a Wild West experience. Why does battle royale have to be shoved into every game now ?
TheProfessional i know i especially don’t understand the battle royale decision when the gunplay is just so odd and awkward. i don’t see it as something that will be enjoyable at all
A pretentious game development team wanking themselves off. (Which one? That's up to you.) Lyle Rath once said "Is this actually a good game or is it more of an *fapping noise* 'aRt DiReCtIoN'....kinda thing". This is what I imagine the 'ARTISTS' doing away from work.
Please, keep the disappointing list, like most people are saying. There is a big difference between disappointing and worst, imo. Most of these games on the list aren't bad, like Shadow of the Tomb Raider, it just didn't live up to it's hype/potential. Love you Joe, keep on doing what you're doing.
Agreed. There's so much absolute, near unplayable shit out there that can fill up the 'worst' list. There's also a lot of stuff that's okay but heavily flawed like everything on this one and they need to be called out. Controversies needs to be brought back because someone with your reach needs to consolidate and remind everyone of the industry's and the community's bullshit.
I think dissapointing games should not make the worst games of the year list. Really should only contain games with problems that keep them from being good.
HELL NO,do not stop making this hilarious, entertaining, top quality videos. Its by far one of those videos you have to watch to remember how shitty the last year was. keep making this badass content.
I think you should keep both the Disappointing list and the Bad list because they serve different purposes. I think the Disappointing list gives us an insight into trends and practices and game elements that are bringing down good concepts. Not only can it show us what needs to be improved on, but maybe someone will pick up one of those underdeveloped concepts and make something better. As for the Bad list, I see that more of a cathartic purge at the end of an old year--a chance to rant about the games and company practices that are 100% percent garbage as we go into a new year that will hopefully be better, but will serve as a warning benchmark of what to look out for.
Joe, great list. DEFINITELY keep the 'Most Disappointing' list, it's very valid. There are a LOT of games that either we get over-hyped for OR have a SOME qualities that still shows through and as such they really don't deserve to be on the 'Worst' list but their failings need to be highlighted. It's actually my favourite list of your 3.
@@KapitanPazur1 put it like this though. Let's say there's a terrible game like The Culling 2. But you had so much hype for it...expected so much just for the end to be a game where it's terrible in everyway
THE GAMING CRASH IS HERE! AND ITS GOOD NEWS, PEOPLE! Its slowly starting to go downhill faster and faster! Bungie leaving activision, multiple blizzard ceos and gaming ceos moving/being fired/ leaving the industry. Every game copying each other, trying to force battle royale into their games, pump out as many micro transactions and shit dlcs as possible, political agendas/sjw, and the biggest problem of all; The stocks of all gaming companies are going downhill. Some worse than others. A lot of investors are jumping ship across the entire INDUSTRY, not just one or two companies. The writing is on the wall all around us, but sure, you can sit there and say "ahem! The gaming crash isn't here." When in all actuality, it has actually been going for a while now and is picking up steam recently. I say, its about god damned time that this huge companies like E.ternal A.ssholes and ScAmivision fall apart. There is such a bad thing as having companies become too big, and that is exactly what has happened. I don't know why, but investors and ceos think that companies can hit something called exponential growth. Meaning that they double in size and double their sales every year. But what they never seem to know, is that does work up until a certain point. Up until you hit a ceiling, and you just can't grow your company any bigger and you can't grow your revenue any bigger. Can you still be successful and make profits? Absolutely, but they don't care about that, they care about quadrupling their investments and stocks and having infinite growth no matter the cost! That is exactly what we have seen here; is these companies like ActivisionBlizzard, EA, and Bethesda sacrificing the quality of their game and even their reputation to try and make a quick buck. Especially with fallout 76. The point is, these companies need to fail. We need to see their heads roll because they are so disillusioned by greed they don't even know what they are doing anymore. That is why Bungie left, that is why blizzard got up there and said "don't you guys have pHoNeS?" So I say out with the old, and in with the new! Let the new companies try to earn our dollars. They will actually care about their game and products and have passion for them instead of focusing only on how they can make as much money as possible.
Keep this list up. Personally I think this was better than the worst list of 2018. This type of list tells the story when shit gets unacceptable. Sometimes the worst is just the worst disappointment not necessarily the worst game cuz that might not have been the most anticipated game anyway.
don't drop top 10 disappointing games please. I've just been going through the old top 10's recently and 3 different lists of that year are a great nostalgia trip. there's a fundamental difference between whats disappointing and whats sh*te 👍
