@@mathiasstrom7790 Yes you can. I mean just in this game. Niko. He's a cold blooded, ruthless killer. Lets not sugar-coat shit, the guy is a professional hitman, among MANY other things. And he very likely did some nasty shit during the Balkan wars, and after, like human trafficking. But he has his own morality and honor. You can be ruthless and be a moral person at the same time. Easyli. Same with... Badman. Little Jacob. Both are ruthless criminals. But also honorable and moral to there frends.
Me"meh....we have seen way more ruthless and cold blooded villains in the game" Dimitri"you are lying" me".....yeah we are kidding ourselves..we have not"
If Dimitri was born and raised in a different environment he would either be a corrupt cop or a politician. Psychopaths strive for positions where they can exploit regardless of background
Or CEO of a ruthless corporation - studies have actually shown that a lower than average empathy is a trait that makes people excell in such positions where you have to look at people like disposable resources.
Regardless of anyones “influence” Faustin is his own man, and a grown ass man at that, who is capable of making his own decisions. Faustin is still accountable regardless of Dimitri’s meddling. He should have more fortitude than to be moved by Dimitris discrepancies.
@@2fangz296 Exactly. Plus. He made all the decisions. Dimitri in most cases argues the opposite. Even if it was manipulation Faustins poor temper made it easy work.
I honestly don’t think there’s a video game villain I hate as much as Dimitri. Just an irredeemable, despicable, scumbag through and through. Rockstar did an incredible job with that character.
Claude: Wouldn't stop trying to find and kill him Catalina: Would rape him on a daily basis Trevor: Would cannibalize him or torture him worse than Mr. K.
Nah they wouldn't be worthy opponents for Dimitri. Trevor has a personality similar to Faustin's and Faustin was easily manipulated by Dimitri for decades, so it wouldn't be different with Trevor. By the time Trevor would realize he is betrayed it would be too late(assuming there is no plot armor for him). Claude would also be manipulated to death easily(also without plot armor). And Catalina...Well she is more clever and she is not that easy to manipulate, but she doesn't have the fighting abilities of a Gta protagonist, so she and her gang wouldn't be able to overpower Dimitri's mob. Well Niko was also easy to manipulate, but Jacob and his fighting abilities helped him to survive. Niko is even more skilled than other protagonists when it comes to fight, so that's the sole reason he overpowered Dimitri at the end.
@@matepusztai5713But overall your going by the gameplay with Niko and his ability to overpower Dimitri but disregarding Trevor and Claude? Niko is tough and skilled obviously but Trevor is crazy and if he’s set on killing someone then he will regardless, I can’t say much for Claude since we really don’t know his life before GTA 3, although his will for revenge is pretty insane that he could just as easily take down Dimitri.
To be fair, Number 7, I do actually believe it was Dimitri who convinced Faustin not to kill Niko and Roman, because in the final mission (had you chose the Deal option), Dimitri, during the final fight on the island with the Statue of Happiness, does say, "I should have let Faustin kill you."
Top 5 most evil things that Billy Grey from TLAD did: 5. Hitting the mechanic's face with a hammer, despite that he already told him who had his bike 4. Start a war with the AoD MC, just to get his bike back. 3. Use Jason's death as an excuse to steal the AoD's heroine. 2. Betraying Johnny K and trying to set up him and Jim to be kill by the Triads. 1. Attempting to rat out Johnny to get out of prison. Honorable mentions: -Manipulating the religious counselor that he had changed for the better, when in reality he didn't. -Mocking Johnny about his ex Ashley and his jewish backgrounds.
You could also argue indirectly getting half of the Gang killed by lying to Brian and starting a civil war. While Brian definitely bares some blame in being such a toadie, he(and clearly much of the gang) trusted Billy to get the information right, and believed him when he said Johnny had betrayed them. All the gang killed in the civil war is on Billy for lying, even Brian to some extent(He just happened to be shamelessly loyal to the wrong guy)
@@kalkuttadrop6371 I think Brian manipulated all the situation about what happened to Billy on purpose, so he would become the Chapter President instead of Johnny. I also believe that Brian was the one who ratted out Billy, and he invented a whole story to blame all of that on Johnny, so he can justify the civil war that he started. Because think about it, Brian is actually a very opportunistic person. He doesn't suck up Billy constantly because of a sick loyalty, admiration and respect towards him, he sucks up Billy so he would turn into Billy's right hand man over Johnny, and turn into his successor to rule The Lost chapter in one point. But Johnny as a Vice President and being Billy's childhood friend was a huge obstacle to get his goals. There is a reason why Brian mocks Johnny constantly, is because of jealousy towards him, he wanted to make Johnny look bad in front of Billy, so he can look as a better member of the Lost MC, and there proofs about that through the story. In the beginning of the game, when Billy was pissed that Johnny didn't brought his bike, Brian use that as an opportunity lie about that he told Johnny about bring Billy's bike, so Billy would appreciate his efforts. And in the heroine deal for Elizabeta, when Johnny meets Billy to pick up the heroine, Brian was confused about why Billy chose Johnny to do the main job instead of him. Then he felt like if Billy doesn't considered him as a very useful and important member of the chapter. But unlike Johnny and Billy, who were in some point closest friends, Brian never considered Billy as a friend to hang out, but more as a ticket to get a better position in the Lost MC. Because if Brian really cared about Billy as friend or at least as a very important leader for the Lost, why Brian wasn't with him anymore, when Billy was arrested by the cops. I think after the whole shootout from the Triads against Johnny and Jim, Brian separated himself from Billy, and called the same feds who called Johnny previously, so he can tell them to bring the cops to arrest all his friends, including Billy, so Brian wouldn't have more obstacles to become the Chapter President, but he didn't expected that Johnny and Jim would escape from the building, and the rest is history. In short words, Brian wasn't just Billy's pet that sucked up him constantly, he was also an opportunist, an insecure person, a rat and a hypocrite.
Dimitri really is one of the best GTA villains, probably THE best. The only problem I’ve had with him is how strange it is that Bulgaran makes very little effort in chasing Niko. Niko says that Bulgaran trying to kill him is one of the reasons he came to America, so Dimitri bringing him in should have more of an impact.
Rockstar did a mistake by making the story of the game too long by doing favors for the McRearys and Pegorinos. And at the end there wasn't enough time to explain the Niko vs Bulgarin story, so they left this plot empty. Pegorino should be the main antagonist in Tbogt instead of Bulgarin, and he should be a simple side character in Gta IV. And Bulgarin should be the second antagonist in Niko's story.
@@mrnotverypc7549No, it actually doesn’t. Just because Judas was Jewish doesn’t mean you get to associate Jews with betrayal. There were other betrayals over the years by non-Jewish people that were far worse. A more accurate description of Dimitri is a devil.
Yeah, the revenge ending has got to be canon because there is no way realistically that Niko would ever work with Dimitri again under any circumstance.
It’s cool to see how you can still keep making more and more lore videos from GTA 4 since this game’s story is so memorable and so deep with its lore. GTA 4 will still always have the best story in the franchise and it’s good you keep making these videos so Rockstar can see that this game had such an impactful story so Rockstar can potentially learn and make sure GTA 6’s story is superb.
Dimitri is one of the shambolic character in gaming history, this is a prime example why people should avoid people like him in real-life as knowing trust him or her without knowing what their real colors are in behind the scenes will turn things into the worst course. And seeing how dimitri can be cunning the way he does is makes him literally someone who was snake and ticking time bomb as soon as you trusted him from the start until he didn't need you anymore
Survival of the fittest meant so much for Dimitri that he screwed everyone that tried to work with him, imagine if he and pegorino actually worked together
GTA Analysis videos are the best, I enjoyed the Chinatown Wars Playthrough, it was very nostalgic for me because I played it when it first came out for the Nintendo DS, even tho the story isn't as deep as the console games I hope to see a Chinatown Wars Lore video in the future
Dimitri clearly isn't a Demon, he's Way to Sadistic and Cruel to even be classified as one, he's Damned, Claude Speed is the actual Demon that's human.
Betrayal and attempted murder of Niko Bellic are considered Dimitri’s biggest mistake ever made. Had Dimitri rewarded Niko and let him become his top assassin, perhaps Dimitri could’ve ruled Liberty City, even made him. Even if Niko is a Serb. Rather than a Russian. Gus Fring from Breaking Bad was wiser than Dimitri. Fring kept his vengeance plans when Max was shot by Hector 20 years before breaking bad events happen. 20 years. Dimitri waited long enough to overthrow Mikhail. To eliminate him. Using Niko to wipe Mikhail out of this world. He could’ve used Niko. Maybe waited until some other thug challenges Niko as the bad ass and if Niko is no longer capable, Dimitri could’ve turned on Niko. Disposed him.
I 100% agree. All he had to do was keep Niko close. After seeing what Niko was capable of, Dimitri had two options. Keep Niko hidden from Bulgarin, and eventually use Niko to betray him. OR, get rid of the largest threat in liberty city, and sell him out to get closer to Bulgarin. Dimitri probably guessed he would be better off with Niko out of the equation. Niko didn’t have any loyalty to anyone but his family, so Dimitri assumed he couldn’t be controlled like Faustin. He knew with Niko alive he could be hired by anyone, and Dimitri was in the business of making enemies.
Dimitri is one of the best antagonists ever created, not just for video games, but in general entertainment. He’s so evil, there’s really nothing to like about him.
I think it’s crazy when we first meet Dimitri he doesn’t seem very threatening .. then “BANG!” (Lil Jacob’s voice) he’s the most evil and threatening person in the game lmao. 44:30
I always refer to him as Dimitri "Rascal"ov. I always type like that. Or raise my voice at "RASCAL" and lower it after that. It's nice to see another one who noticed it as well.
Let’s keep in mind that Dimitri mentioned Lenny by name to Faustin when Faustin was already accusing Lenny of snitching but struggling to remember what his name was.
I wouldn't say blackmailing Bernie about his affair with Bryce was evil. He willingly took part in an adulterous affair. Yes, Dimitri's motives for the blackmailing weren't pure, but they sure are wronging Bryce's wife.
For Dimitri it wasn't just about survival but sadistic amusement... (I hope you make a ranking video of the dumbest things Pegorino did.) Great Video, as always, Professional.
Dimitri manipulated Niko to kill Faustin, but Faustin did warned Niko that Dimitri had turned on him, and would turn on Niko as well before killing him.
When I saw Roman being killed on his wedding at number 2, I had a feeling that Ilyeana was at 1 Dimitri is so evil, he makes Catalina and Claude look like saints (not the 3rd Street Saints), especially the former. Thanks for making the video. I'm revisiting GTA 4 as of the time of this comment. I'm having a lot of fun going through it again. I appreciate your dedication to this video 👍🏼
I would have put Killing Kate, even if not intentionally, as an Honorable Mention since that is the Canon Ending of GTA4. At least with Roman you know he is actually alive, but Kate? She’s gone and Niko’s chance at real happiness is gone.
So happy this got recommended, reminded me how interesting yet dark GTA 4's story is. I really should try playing it once more personally rather than now with just lore videos and clips.
The fact that Dimitri sent a hitman to Roman’s wedding says more than enough about him as a whole. Not even Toni Cipriani, Tenpenny, Sonny Forelli, or Claude would go that far.
20:32 I wish we had a chance to spare Faustin in the game instead of shooting him. Whatever he's said could realistically have made Niko change his mind and prepared him better for the inevitable betrayal
Maybe had there been a gta iv prequel, maybe the polish professional was threatened by a reveal devilish side of Dimitri and the professional wanted to warned Faustin about what Dimitri would be planning and how it affect his bratva as a whole. But then, the big mistake the professional would’ve committed was doing favors for Petrovic and his antagonism with Petrovic would twist it against the professional and as soon as the brat a would have him hunted down, the professional would go Arthur Morgan and dying trying to reason with Faustin about Dimitri being a snake. He died trying to save his bratva. Even when he wanted to distance his comrade and loved ones away from Liberty City
As a gta4 fan I been playing this game for years since it's released really love this game but didn't even know about anything at the time and wanted to say thank you to Mr professional kudos to you and keep up the good work 👍
Hey professional good video but I'm not sure if you know this but during the bit where Roman and Niko see their apartment burning if your on a bike you actually get a unique cutscene of Roman trying to run in and Niko pulling him back with a little bit of different dialogue too
Nice video. Professional, can you also do a video of Roman Bellic and Ashley Butler on the stupidest mistakes they made and how it lead to them getting into a lot of trouble? Why Dimtri forced Johnny to capture Roman instead of having his men do it?
Pro I think about u using Dimitri rascolov in that vid where u trolled the scammer and Dimitri being so vile just made it even more hilarious the whole time 😂
I think I need to clarify. There is no need to perceive Dmitry as a completely insane person, obsessed with killing Niko and betraying everyone around him. Still, in his life there is one single equal ally, Ray Bulgarin. He is LITERALLY the only one who was not betrayed by Raskalov. Perhaps because Bulgarin is more authoritative and powerful than Raskalov, because has influence over the entire country, and has connections even in Europe, and Dmitry was simply afraid to betray a stronger and more powerful criminal than himself. I am sure that in the betrayal of Niko (whose death Bulgarin wanted) Dmitry saw an opportunity to gain respect from him, and gain a greater sphere of influence over Liberty City.
I love all your lore videos professional, it would be cool to see you make videos on the life is strange series I think those would be really entertaining lore videos
Big long time fan Professional. Consider doing a deep dive into Romans character? It could make for a positive note on this usually bleak game we all love so much. Keep up the outstanding work Professional.
I hope you can play Metal Gear Solid soon, they even have their own cruel antagonist named Volgin, everyone from the community hates him because of his personality, I truly want to know your opinion about him if you played MGS3
What makes Dimitri so chillingly terrifying is how his evilness and cruelty aren't exaggerated, but are realistic and believable, and many people like him are out in the world.
The points you made really put things into perspective how much of a Puppet Master Dimitri really is, how cold and calculated he is as well. I knew he was evil but this extra deep Deep-Dive really sells just how horrible he really was. He's basically the overarching antagonist of GTA IV rather than a main antagonist, given throughout the whole game you're basically dealing with him even though he's hardly present in the flesh.
I don't buy Dimitri being the one who 'corrupted' Faustin. It was the coke, and the power going to his head. Faustin is a flawed (and interesting) character on his own. Dimitri sure spins it to his advantage, portraying himself as the reasonable one in front of Niko, but I don't think he caused it
I feel like an idiot because I have no dea how to detect anyone like Dimitri in real life. Given the world that we live in today, I am very worried that I am surrounded by a bunch of them.
I can only say : I'm really grateful because I chose the revenge After all, we are the players, we control Niko in this game. His reaction & decision is surely also ours. Me personally will lost trust totally to a "snake", liar, betrayer. Especially if he / she do it to ruin my life and my financial. I have no mercy once i discovered it and will totally remove him / her from my life (blocking contacts, avoiding meet that person as F as possible, etc) And that's the reason.. without thinking twice, I'm chose revenge. No second chance for people like D no matter what.
