Even people who don’t have a PhD in Star Wars can pronounce names correctly. Simon Whistler undoubtedly heard the Imperial March, which every American knows as Darth Vader’s Theme.
A Star Wars Jedi list? Simon just gave somebody somewhere a nerd-gasm, & then he mispronounced one too many names, & their lightsaber abruptly powered down.
Simon, I'm not an asshole, but I feel like the pronunciation of Padawan and Qui Gon Jinn could have easily been looked up. If you are unfamiliar with Star Wars names, that's fine. But you should ask your author which names have been said out loud in a Star Wars movie and look up a scene where their name is mentioned.
Luke: Never. I'll never turn to the dark side. You've failed, Your Highness; I am a Jedi, like my father before me. Palpatine: So be it, Jedi. If you will not be turned, you will be destroyed. (zaps him with lightning)
He Man how do you get they're wrong? It's spelled constantly in English. He said he wasn't an expert. Neither am I and I make the same mistakes and own and watch every movie constantly.
Anakin, one of strongest Jedi ever, is not in this list. But characters CANONICALLY WEAKER THAN HIM, are here. Ok. The youtubers should stop making tier list about Star Wars.
Before he fell to the dark side Anakin was easily the 3rd most powerful Jedi in the galaxy, only behind Mace Windu and Yoda, and I'm not sure that it was that big of a gap in terms of lightsaber combat, and definitely more powerful in terms of the force, he just lacked the knowledge to use it. In hindsight, if we took revenge of the Sith Anakin and put him against return of the Jedi Luke, especially outside the movie showings, I believe Anakin would absolutely decimate Luke. There's a reason he was so legendary amongst the literal thousands of other Jedi besides being the "chosen one".
James Petriello shaak ti was probably the most powerful female of her era and one if the most powerful jedi in general i see hee being similarly skilled and powerful as obi wan and plo koon, luminara is easily one of the most powerful jedi outside of the council similarly powerful to people such as quinlan vos and aayla secura
Simone your channel is Awesome! I listen to it every morning before work and enjoy learning my 10 to 20 new facts each day! Your pronunciation is to be expected as different cultures pronounce things differently. You rock dude!
Nah, he would get mentally defeated by sand. Was reckless, emotionally unstable, and according to Kenobi he was "a master... at getting caught". That's just a bad Jedi resume.
@@myprofilemyprrofile5344 Even Vader's intention was never to kill Luke, but rather to turn him to the dark, he just taunted him and made him feel the power of dark side. Have you seen rebels? That's how he actually fight
Something else you forgot to mention about Nomi Sunrider, and this is one fact that I really love about her: She was able to balance two jobs that, in the Star Wars universe, most would consider impossible to balance: Being a Jedi, and being a MOM (she had a Force-sensitive daughter named Vima Sunrider).
Had they actually made a Nomi Sunrider movie series instead of the sequel trilogy, I wouldn't have had any objectives. I think it would've been awesome.
I have to admit, this sounded completely out the norm for Top Tenz and I didn't think it would go well. I am happily surprised. Whomever the fan was who put this script together is most definitely a Star Wars super fan.
My dad was super excited when I stumbled across this video. His exact words "You've been watching Simon for years and just now found a Star Wars video." LOL
I'm not upset about the mispronounced names at all, it's bound to happen with names that are literally of another galaxy. and I'm a dedicated star wars fan, but it's legitimately ridiculous to dislike a video because of that, it's supposed to be about the content and how good or relatable it is. this channel always puts out great content and this is no exception. don't listen to the haters, you guys did great.
To be honest, I was surprised that Luke took the top spot. I thought it would be Vader but knowing where Luke came from and what he inherited from Vader, it makes sense.
Top Tenz---This video wasn't bad. It's just that some of your pronunciations were off. And I get the logic behind some of your choices here, but you left some Star Wars fans feeling a little disappointed when their favorites didn't come up. Not trying to be critical. I'm just saying it could have been a little better.
2 Problems I have with Luke being Number 1 1: Yoda was clearly more powerful, given that he was able to manipulate the world even past becoming a Force Ghost, and that's even Canon. 2: If you're gonna put a Skywalker on the List, put Anakin, I know you couldn't put him there since he was a Sith, but Anakin was clearly more powerful, he annihilated pretty much EVERY surviving Jedi, whereas Luke NEVER killed a single Sith or Jedi(Unless you count his father, but that was more Palpatine)
In legends luke in his prime was pretty much a force demigod he managed to manipulate a black hole, destroyed armies of youchong Vong soldiers who were immune to most force attacks sent a force shockwave that made abeloth stagger who’s the most powerful force user who’s ever existed 12 times stronger than luke and he was able to kill multiple lost tribe of the with with utter ease oh and he also was capable of becoming one with the force while still in the mortal realm boosting his power in combat to even greater heights.
Hi am sorry your wrong in legends of which this guy is conting life Luke was Abel to move black holes move star destroys and when he was duelling it was said that he look like he was welding 1000 lightsabers and in Disney universe there were roomers that he could more massive star destroys so ooo ya your wrong
In comparing to the other video of the most powerful Sith, the Jedi seems weak. I would never have thought of Master Qui Gon and Obi Wan to be two of the most powerful Jedi ever.
I can't say Vaders heart was fully in fighting his own son the sheer unwavering conviction to absolute cruelty and coldness and hatred in vader just wasn't there when he fought his son.
There were actually 4 Jedi that survived facing Vader, not just Luke. Kanan Jarus and his apprentice Ezra Bridger and Vader's former apprentice Ahsoka Tano
What Simon forgot to mention about Electric Judgment is the true difference between it and Sith Lightning. Sith Lightning is designed to cause your opponent(s) as much pain as possible, while Electric Judgment is designed to kill them as quickly and efficiently as possible. Luke Skywalker would also use this ability to great extent when he was Grand Master of the New Jedi Order, although his version was green, compared to Plo Koon's yellow version.
The fact that neither Revan or Annakin Skywalker are on this list is nearly as off-putting as your "Quee-Gon Yin" bit. But great content nonetheless...
I enjoy your videos I like what you do so instead of tearing you apart in the comments I would like to build you up I appreciate the videos that you make and for the most part and I don't think there's any that you've done that I didn't enjoy so thank you
Palpatine: Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? Anakin: No? Palpatine: I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side, he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying.
A lot of the pictures used were of Sideshow/Hot Toys figures and sculptures. Nothing wrong with it, just an observation. They are amazing works of art.
I'll cut him a LOT of slack as this is also how Alec Guinness pronounced the name in A New Hope. (best heard in his "That's a name I haven't heard in a long time" line early in the film)
How can you do a top 10 on a subject you do not do research on how to pronounce simple things that are said multiple times in the movies and books, was so painful listening to you pronounce Qui Qon and Padawan
You forgot Mace was also a master of the Force "Curse". His ability to fit the word "Muthaf@cka" into the most unlikely conversations struck fear in the ears of the most sophisticated sith wordsmiths.
I'd have to rank Yoda above Luke. Luke's fast learning is impressive and he even developed skills of his own. His learning pace was even better than Anakin's. Yoda on the other hand had lived for 900 years and the Force was stronger in him than pretty much any being in the Galaxy. Debatable.
Very debatable. Especially since hes referring legends/EU. What i mean by this is: legends luke was literally the most powerful jedi to ever live:undebatable. Even more powerful than any sith to have ever lived. He was only overpowered by one being ever: abeloth, the mother who consumed two force nexuses. And he still defeated her, albeit with some help. Luke is literally the most powerful jedi or sith to ever have lived in legends but im not going to continue listing off the myriad amount of reasons for why he was since i dont want to start sounding like an encyclopedia
Whilst I may be a huge Star Wars fan, the comments of SW-Geeks losing their minds over mispronunciation is twice as entertaining as the video itself (sorry Simon, you know I love you mate!).
John Willis, if you're gonna use literacy as a solid part of your argument, you might want to perfect the use of 'a' and 'an' in your post. Ads more merit to your dismissal of others based on their aptitude in the English language.
Nah what a lot of boring long winded poorly acted (anakin) and overly hyped convoluted pre pubescent stories for young boys to have to sit through for hours and hours and hours. Don’t do it Simon!
John Willis Bro, do you even lift? I think you’ve missed the fact that writing it this way is a form of pun. He didn’t make a mistake, it was a joke. Your attempt to prove your intelligence failed spectacularly.
Yoda was far more powerful than Luke. Luke couldn't stand Palpatine, if it wasn't for Dart Vader, Luke would have been killed easily by Palpatine. Instead Yoda could face Palpatine even if it was almost 900 years old and not in his better shape. How you can even think that a noob with a few years of experience can use the force the same way of Yoda?
"luke couldnt stand palpatine". no one else liked him very much either. with his autistic screeching, doing 900 rotations in the air towards mace and constantly reminding us hes the senate
Um when Luke faced Palpatine he was just into 1 year of training as a jedi and he stood his ground. The Luke fo say 30 years later not the disney Luke he is crap but the cannon one the powerfull one would eat Palpatine for breakfast... have you actually read the legends? Do you know how powerful he becomes? He fought a horde of Yuuzhan Vong which are force resistant and wear lightsaber resistant armor and defeated them. Trough the force he grabed a black hole and hold it in the palm of his hand, he fought abelot which is the embodiment of the dark side and defeated it. On top of all that he is mostly self trained in the force. Do you realise how much power is that?
Well my knowledge is based on the three original movies, because all the others are just crap. Disney ruins everything. It ruined Pixar and now is making Star Wars a joke.
But Ankian also had his limbs chopped off by Obi wan is he had full use of his limbs Luke wouldnt of been able to beat him he was more skilled with a light saber and would of had more force abilities as being trained in both sides dark and light lets not forget he beat Count Dooku something Yoda the Jedi grand master couldnt even pull off so is he hadnt lost his limbs he would be way more powerful and basically unbeatable just Lucs films wanted Luke to be choosen one.
Love the vids, just to help you out on pronunciation it's: Q-why Gon not Q-wee Gon (this one really bugged me) Pa-da-wan not Pad-ow-wan Obi One not Obi waan
