TIMMY SMITH#36 206 YARDS .. 2 TD PERFORMANCE IN SUPERBOWL XXII WILL ALWAYS BE THE ULTIMATE NFL ONE HIT WONDER ..
@TimMarcus00
@TimMarcus00 25 дней назад
I grew up in the same town as he did. Me and my Grandfather used to go to every football and basketball game, so I watched his entire HS performances. He was an all time great. I was only 10 when he went off in that SB, but I'll always remember how proud I was seeing someone from a little town of 20k people in the spotlight. It made me sad to see how he flamed out after that game.
@Gungho73
@Gungho73 25 дней назад
Went from getting sick at the thought of being a starter to the point they pretended he'd be the backup so he wouldnt have time to get nervous before the game, to spinning a football on I think Letterman? Demanded a huge contract after that game and it seemed to spiral from there. The story was cool but lets be real, those holes were massive. I'm not saying just anyone could've done what he done, but I think many non-starting NFL RB's would've loved to have been in that scenario.

@fortynights1513

@KMC5240
@KMC5240 25 дней назад
@@fortynights1513 Yep. Teams don't operate with true workhorse backs anymore. It's just not sustainable. Derrick Henry to me was the last we'll see of that. I looked up the running backs to play in Superbowls during this millennium, and the closest someone came to Timmy Smith was Michael Pittman in Superbowl 37. 124 rushing yds. And a good reason for his yards was Tampa Bay jumping out to such a big lead that they were running the ball a ton so they could drain the clock.
@fortynights1513
@fortynights1513 24 дня назад

@@fortynights1513 They had a big lead at the half, but Smith was putting up yards in the first half while Washington was making it a game, taking the lead, and extended their lead. He had 131 rushing yds in the first half. More than half of what he finished with.
@fortynights1513
@fortynights1513 24 дня назад
@@KMC5240True, and that’s more than Pittman in that whole game. Also you mentioned workhorse backs, well Derrick Henry this next season might reach 10,000 yards rushing, and after him, and maybe Christian McCaffrey, I don’t know who else could rush for 10K in their career. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of players that might be capable of reaching 10,000 yards, but most probably won’t get the opportunity to do so.

WR are most common on these lists because teams have so many of them and it is also the easiest position to replace. Pittsburgh's Markus Wheaton was good but they had 5 or 6 WR on those teams that were even better. He had 2 seasons with over 640 yards receiving as a non starter(which means he isn't a 1 hit wonder) which just happened to be the only 2 seasons he played more than a couple plays. He retired at 27 to take care of his 3 children and to keep his body mostly healthy.

I really thought Gray was going to be him for New England smh

The moment it was stated to raise your hand if "you know LeShon Johnson," I was like...right here! The Packers drafted him from Northern Illinois because I was a fan of his, and I thought he was going to be a good back for GB but then ended up in Arizona after 2 seasons with Green Bay. Funny, he was involved in dog fighting in 2005 in Oklahoma.

Only the Browns in that era would get a RB that breaks Jim Browns record and finish off the season strong, and make him a backup

The Browns should've kept Harrison as the starter that next season.

These are the type of players that drive fantasy managers nuts. 😆

I don’t think Matt Flynn should be counted as a one hit wonder. He had some more action afterwards, including the 26-3 comeback against my cowboys in 2013.

Or 2010 when he went toe to toe with New England on a SNF

Larry Brown with 14 career INTs is more than simply a one hit wonder.
@fortynights1513

He had a substantial career, but if you want to talk about players who are known for one thing in general, he’s an example of one. Not as big a one hit wonder as some of the honorable mentions

I think Malcolm Smith was still a decent not great player with the Raiders. It wasn't a Larry Brown situation where he went to a man-man team when he was a zone guy. Malcolm was liked and played good at times he just wasn't going to be a guy to take a D to the next level. He never was that kind of player and the Raiders didn't pay him that way. That postseason he made some of the most important plays for the Hawks though.

12:30 Jonas Gray's performance won a Draftkings DFS contest (back when the main millionaire slate consists of the all Sunday games) he was heavily added in fantasy as I recall in my fantasy league his fabb was $50. After that because he missed practice and not getting carries he was dropped.

He says he missed that practice because he put his phone on the charger then woke up the next morning to birds chirping and knew he was fucked. He looked at his phone and the charger wasn't plugged into the wall outlet.

Ahh yes, Sylvester Morris. He was a giant bust out of Jackson St. I remember him from the old madden PS2 days. I used to rebuild him back in madden 2004 😂
