The gig in the sky is one of the greatest rock vocal parts in the history of rock n roll. She got pretty close. Gotta tip my hat off to a great performance.
Guys, are u deaf or something? She freaking ruined the song and her performance sucked! Just because she chose one of the hardest vocal piece, doesn't mean that she is a legend.
@@antonfedotov376 honestly I think she was the best of all… All the others were just trying to show off… but that’s just my opinion… I think they all lack of bringing over feelings
Apart from the very high notes, where she clearly strained her voice, everything else in this rendition of The Great Gig in the Sky was very good. Now, looking back, thinking that Clare Torry did that, on her own, and doing improv is just out of this world. And of course, Alan Parsons, putting everything together.
When I am listening to pink floyd, I am searching for that feeling inside. None of them gave me that feeling. They might have nice voices, but none of them captured the soul of any of the songs, just a lot of screaming where it shouldn't be.
Most of them didnt even have pleasant voices. Parts of the great gig in the sky were ok but other bits the pitch was painful, needs an autotune. Fellow at 8.00 seemed the cleanest rendition.
The woman doing doing Great Gig was easily the best here but even she peaked a bit. Nobody can quite match Clare Torry. Still, a valiant effort, and clearly shows she knows Floyd way more than the other contestants if she's willing to learn the vocal queues.
Singing Great Gig in the Sky is just crazy hard , heck even Pink Floyd has multiple singers singing the different parts. When I saw them in 94 for Pulse , there were three women who sung it ( awesome too ) . I commend her for trying but some parts seemed just out of her reach , still a decent job.
Pulse and momentary lapse of reason had improvised parts for 3 background singers while the original Dark Side of the moon had only one singer the legend!
@@griffin1639 I saw Pink Floyd twice once back in 88 at the Vet in Philly and then in 93 or 94 for Pulse both concerts were amazing but for Pulse my friends and I got there early enough to hear them playing for sound check. I am hoping this year to see Waters , fingers crossed.😁
I've seen a few singers that, in my book, get close to the league of Claire Torry's album version: Eva Avila, Ola Bienkowska (both Brit Floyd), Viviane Donner (Atom) and I also like Sam Brown's version on Pulse. A lot of other, otherwise great singers, struggle with it, understandably...
I think it also the fact that you're going to a show, they just pick the popular songs because judges like it even more when they recognize it, if you sing The Final Cut you won't get as much credit as singing wish you were here
They just don't understand that Pink Floyd can't be played or presented like a Pop song. It's all about expressing human emotions with words and music.
@@spitfire-ls8oj why she has a gravely singling voice you only get from like smoking for 20 years and I really don’t know how the judge turned around so quickly he obviously has no ear for good music (who ever he is)
Sing Mother, sing Time, sing Shine on You Crazy Diamond, sing Us and Them, sing Young Lust, sind Run Like Hell, sing Waiting for The Worms, sing High Hopes, sing One of my Turns, sing On The Turning Away... just sing . Oh my God, everybody just knows Wish You Were Here, Comfrotably Numb and Another Brick in The Wall.
Only Will.i.am had a spot free in his team. The other judges had filled theirs and could not choose him. Will.i.am clearly wanted some other style of singer for his team so held out for whatever came later.
Pink floyd songs are on the next level . And these is a clear disrespect . You dont deserve to sing pink floyd songs when the audience arent high on coacaine or lsd . I agree with you brother this is clear disrespect .
Holy great gig in the sky😍😍 that’s called being unique. I don’t think I’ve heard a single song on the voice that didn’t have lyrics I was surprised when I heard the beginning drum hits bc I knew exactly what was coming…I’m actually amazed for once
I was listening to Great Gig in the Sky last month and thought to myself...."anyone who can come anywhere close to this would be guaranteed chair turns on the Voice" . She did great . . . I'd love to her be able to hold her volume up in the higher register (what I'd call the pain screaming). But nonetheless, great rendition. Bravo
In an interview with Nick Mason, he said that the first note of Great Gig that was written by Wright and Waters was the most difficult to catch with and because they wanted a female vocalist to cover, it was a very difficult task to elevate that low note to an extremely high one the next second, so yeah, the reaction of the judges was certainly justified
Watching these make you realise just how good David Gilmour is as a musician. He is the best guitar player of all time and his vocals match his songs perfectly.
@@nectarinedreams7208 No. David sings "Wish You Were Here," the song where the vocals track the guitar. He also sings most of "Hey, You" and most of "Comfortably Numb." (Harmony on the verses and solo on the refrain.) Both sing "Another Brick in the Wall," and everyone needed to kick that up a notch. And of course, @tommmiv3586 said "guitar player" and "musician."
@BrunoEwok roger wrote half the music for dark side and wywh, just over half the music on animals, and pretty much all the music on the wall, wrote all the lyrics to all the albums too
Kudos, kudos, kudos to the woman who did Great Gig in the Sky! I was mesmerized. I applaud anyone who would even attempt that but she did it justice. Nice.
Great Gig in the Sky Gal looks like Tina Turner and Wails better than any before her. I'm impressed. I bought Dark Side of the Moon in 1974. Listened and Loved all my Life. Hello from Orlando, Florida. ❤️🤪😮🌴🌞🐊☮️🤔😳😜😎😁
The Hillbilly guy with the acoustic slide guitar and the goth girl and the black woman who did the great gig in the sky were bloody brilliant in my opinion.
Best I've seen in years. She just needs to move the mic more to get less over driven distortion. If you watch it done professionally they move the mic back as they get high. But that's nothing she rocked all 3 pitches and scenes of GGIS.

Comfortably Numb Goodbye Blue Sky Money Wish you were here Shine on you crazy diamond Breathe. Great Gig in the Sky. There are so many amazing pink Floyd tracks that people could have covered... Also the Great Gig in the Sky was an amazing cover.
