you are so right and it's so sad for young people today. they will never know pure raw art and talent. I always have this kind of music playing around my 16 year old son and he never complains!
@@kurdtcobain2896 Can’t even spell his Roger’s name correctly, goes to show how much of a fan you are. Don’t ever disrespect Gilmour like that ever again man. Peace and love to all
Maybe Waters' anger against the rest f the group is at least part jealousy? I've always thought so, especially as when they split he expected Floyd to collapse and disappear without him.
Every time I think I’ve heard the best version of this song, I run across yet another. There is no adjective to describe this version the way it deserves to be described!!
Well, i think Pulse and Gdansk has the best solos, but imo i found a version in o2 arena in a Roger Waters's concert that has a surprise appearance from Gilmour, it has a bautiful solo too
I have listened to tens of thousands of songs in my long life. And I have to say this is the best song ever, especially in the lyrics as in the second chorus sung by David, as well as the otherworldly guitar solos. Gets to me every time, and this is simply a phenomenal performance of this great song.
It’s a crying shame these guys could not get on. Amazing that they got together for this. Richard Wright never gets mentioned but he was one of England’s finest musicians. Rest in Peace good fellow.
+awesomejohnnet Have you watched the Royal Albert Hall concert of Comfortably Numb on RU-vid? David's guitar solo is absolute perfection... check it out!
+The London Health Centre thanks for the heads up . I will check that out. But I must admit that right here in this video is one of the best I have ever heard them together. this is soooooooo beautiful.
David Gilmour and Roger Waters!!!
Chris Cunningham I agree with you every time I listen is like the first time the sound of David's guitar is coordinated with is voice an can't not be imitated
One of the all time greats. What a pleasure it was to grow up listening to these guys as a teenager. Anyone remember going to the planetarium laser light shows listening to Pink Floyd while stoned?
Went there as a 17yr old, dragged my mother along as she was a huge fan and despite her being worried about the age group we both thoroughly enjoyed it. So disappointed when it closed down.
You two were great together musically, why can’t we just keep it at that. In the greatest band ever because of the two of you. Please get over your problems with each other and tour again in 2022-2023. Thank you
Life is short. On their death beds, will they still be thinking “I’m glad I never worked with that guy again?” That’s what I keep asking. Life is soooo short. C’mon guys we love you
Hi . Yeah they are definitely the best duo ever . Imagine what kind of music they could have made together if they didn't have there differences !!! . I still get shivers listening to some of there songs .🌹👍🎶🎵☢️🎵🎶🎵🎼 ..😉
I saw these guys in concert twice back in the 70s. The first show was at Winterland in 1972. They were beyond incredible and in such a small venue it was unbelievable! I sat on the floor right under Roger Waters and as he sang, sometimes spit would fly out of his mouth on me. lol When they did "Careful with that Axe Eugene," Roger kept a straight face and then started screaming and he looked totally insane. As he screamed, conga drums or something like that blew up. Scared the crap out of everyone! The place was filled with fog from a machine and colored lights pulsated through them. They hadn't released Dark Side of the Moon yet so we got to hear it before everyone else. Then I saw them again in 1975 at the Cow Palace. It was standing room only and packed like Sardines as now they were very famous. They performed the entire Dark Side of the Moon set and when they performed "On the Run," I knew something was up so my friend and I moved up from the floor to the bleachers. "On the Run" is very intense with its fast pace and drone-like sound. I always envisioned a guy running or in a fast car or airplane and at the end, he crashes and burns -typical for Pink Floyd! So they are showing this video of I think it was a jet moving quickly over land or something like that. It was a huge screen and everyone was mesmerized by it. At the end, it sounds like a huge explosion with a guy screaming and sure enough, typical for Pink Floyd, they had a huge jet like a 707 or 747 come flying down on a wire from the back of the Cow Palace and crashing into the screen! It looked like an actual jet was crashing inside the place and scared the hell out of everybody on the floor! It was great!!! I'm so sad these guys can never get back together as a whole but the memories I have of those two concerts will live with me forever!
I can top that. I saw the Dark Side of the Moon Tour. Blue Oyster Cult opened which didn't mean dick to me. I've seen a lot of concerts, and I can saw without question Pink Floyd was the loudest.
I saw them at Winterland in 72 also and then again 22 long years later at Mile High Stadium in Denver. I was raised in Pleasanton Calif. It was a great time to be in the Bay Area.
David Gilmour is THE most sexy and talented man who ever lived. Even at 70, he's still amazing. There's a reason this man has 7 natural children. You can see it in the one chick's face in the audience. Pure awe!!!
I've listened to this song a thousand times, and every time it just gets better and better. Water's soft vocals and Gilmour's legendary guitar rifts...wow!!
It’s with heartfelt gratitude I wanna say thank you for your kind words🥰. I don’t usually do this often as I’m not always on social media but your kind words attract me. It been an honor entertaining you. Where are you from?

Brought me to tears. What an incredible performance. I see no one in the industry to ever step into their shoes. Thank you, brothers for many years of being by my side in this crazy World.
I'm afraid this show never happened, they won't speak to each other, well David won't speak to Roger. It was edited from two shows in two different places, both without each other. They will most likely never set foot on stage together again very sadly.
@@TEFLLemon Ah but they did in 2010 at the 02 arena in London and did this song. I went to the Manchestet show of Rogers Wall tour a few days later hoping that Dave Gilmour would turn up and do his solo but it wasn't to be. London was a one off.
I saw Roger Waters Friday night in Chicago with my 24 year old son . Now he knows what I have been talking about. Loyal listener since 1970 . I'm currently 60 years old and still enjoy Pink Floyd.

lol i'm sure you know a lot about music. not like there are literally hundreds of good contemporary bands/artists. I bet you listen only to led zeppelin/queen/pink floyd and some shit like metallica and think you're born in the wrong generation and that you're a special snowflake. your knowledge of today's music comes from the top 40s and you think that only mainstream pop and hip-hop is being made today. educate yourself a bit. it's easiest than ever to find good music (pro-tip: music exists outside of the radio and MTV. WHAT A SHOCKER!!!!!!), you just want to live in the past and/or are blinded by nostalgia. wake up. btw i don't expect a serious response, answer with some ad-hominem or "LOL DIDNT READ XDDDD" if you want, i don't care, in the end it's your loss only. I'm just telling you that you're missing out on tons of amazing music because you can't look past mainstream stuff, but maybe someday you'll grow out of the "lewrong generascion" phase and actually begin to find out that your views on music are extremely stupid and restricted. I was similar to you when I was 14 (i thought only metal was good music and that the rest sucked) so there's still time. peace
This is the best guitar solo ever and I will listen over and over. In fact I want it played at my funeral.... I will be Comfortably Numb with the Lord!

+Matt E Yes - you're quite right Nick still being alive. Loved the Top Gear episode about a year back where he let them road test his Ferrari so long as Clarkson who's near dead gave his new book a plug.
My father showed me this when I was younger, now 25 years later as a Hip-Hop head, there is nothing that can make me cry so easily as this guitar solo at the end compared with the drums. It just make the water inside my body go all around.. unbelievable! This whole show is just magic!
Yes, indeed, this kind of music never dies ... it is the ultimate music of my generation ! Your words "I consider them the same age, not by age, but by perception of the world" are very fine words. I only can contribute by these words: "this music connects people!"
WOW !!!!!! This really is incredible, I can not help but enjoy this wonderful music, with all the experience of the greatest musicians of progressive rock never before seen CONGRATULATIONS from MEXICO.......
I have just literally binge played Comfortably Numb on Delicate Sound Of Thunder, The Wall and have now just watched five different YT videos of it. I’m almost 58 years old and have never been able to get enough of this song since I was 14, since I first heard Tommy Vance play it on the Friday Rock Show. Loved it ever since ❤
They're NOT together. The description says the video scenes are clips from completely different shows by David and Roger. They did not perform this together.
The first time I played this on my stack system I cranked it right up stood in the middle of my living room and it made me feel out of my head without any drugs or alcohol. It does the same every time, the only track by the only group that has done that to me!. One of the best Rock tracks ever! Fantastic
What is amazing to me is that when you look at this bands work over the years that a group of human beings could come up with these songs. The arrangements, the lyrics, the musicianship, and the stage show. To have lived during their time and seen it all unfold has been truly amazing as well as an honor. 50 years for Dark Side of the Moon this year and the music still resonates with audiences of all ages. 🙏🙏🙏
Progressive rock is practically as refined and sophisticated as jazz and classical music, if that's what you mean. Look at the video, there is even a symphonic orchestra on the background :)
I'm glad for you. Would you like a cookie because of this? 😁 Heheh! Just fuckin' with you😆 Now go share it with your friends with similar taste for "Jazz & classical" music.
"Edited video from Two Different Concerts: Roger Waters's "In The Flesh" and David Gilmour's "Live in Gdansk"." I just figured it out after reading this caption above.
They've performed the song together on a couple of other occasions, but not for a few years, I don't think. What I really like is that the two different sections have different production approaches, and both really suit their section of the song. Waters's section is clinical, precise, haunting, and maybe a touch smarmy, while Gilmour's section is lush, overpowering, raw, and emotional.. They embody two different ways of viewing the world, which is probably why they have such difficulty working together - but when they can find a way to coexist (or when someone does a clever edit job), magic happens.
