Thanks Kevin. Yep, those players are still popular within the hobby. Just goes to show that a player's career stats or performance does not necessarily match up with the player's popularity within the hobby.

So what, are you as strick for the 80% of the players using black beauties (amphetamines) rampantly in the 70's and early 80's...just asking. The only reason it was an issue was because of a POS Canseco who washed out AND the "sacred HR record was touched"....Having played in the upper level ball, I hate to break it to everyone, that even their most beloved players of that era used...just because they weren't caught they get a "pass"...what about pitchers literally using sandpaper among many many other things to gain their crazy stats...One pitcher literally wrote a book about it, while still playing...it's not just a right or wrong issue...plus if nothing else...these were people's hero's...also let's not forget many of these "PED" could literally be bought at GNC during this time...just food for thought, but people love to point out the "faults" of others... it's baseball and that 98 season literally saved baseball...⚾💯

Exactly. That's why I specifically state whether it was a PWCC listing or just a regular eBay listing so people can be informed about how legitimate that sale was or not.

Well you sort of answered your own question. All collectors are different and some like McGwire cards over Ripken cards and others like Bonds cards over Mattingly cards even if you think the opposite. If I had a choice I would buy a Wade Boggs card over all 4 of those players. Doesn't make me right or wrong, it's just what I'm interested in collecting.
