My neighbors had a collection they didn’t use anymore, so they gave it to me. It had Punk Shock, Scratch, Chopper, High Five, and some assorted trap masters and cores and stuff, which is freakin crazy. I’m forever grateful to them.
I used to be absolutely crazy about skylanders but started to stop during superchargers. Still have the games but not so much the characters. Honestly the ones on the list surprise me since getting most of the characters wasn't too much of a trouble for me, not including superchargers, imaginations, and variants. To my knowledge I have all the ones on the list that are before superchargers. Scratch was my all time favorite because of her attacks. The one I had the most trouble getting was ghost roaster because I started playing a little before giants came out. He disappeared in my area. Man I kind of miss Skylanders. Expensive but fun.
Thanks for the personal sumup. I myself never struggled finding ghost roaster, most if these are characters who became rare overtime, but getting them when they first came out at retail was largely no problem. 😀
Oh man, this takes me back. Around 2018 I think, my local EB Games had A LOT of Skylanders they were trying to get rid of. I couldn't spend much money because my job didn't pay well, but when I could, I'd stop by and see what they would have. The figures ranged between $5 to $10aus depending on their respective series. I was very happy when I got most of the Skylanders I wanted, and even some that I thought looked very nice and vibed with, like High Five and Grim Creeper. I would also see newly dumped figures every week, and buy a decent amount before they were all thrown away. I always looked out for Echo and a Sensei but no luck... I'll miss the series, and they'll always have a special place in my heart, and my shelf (well dad's shelf lol)
6:25 I actually have that Golden dragon cannon as well as the normal one. I remember seeing it on the shelves and thought “woah, I have the normal one, this one is golden, so it must be rarer!” Turns out I was right. As far as I know, that’s the only rare thing I have.
I honestly didn't know that spotlight and blackout were that rare, I was literally walking through a store one day and saw both expansion packs there (this was likely very soon after the release (probably within 2 weeks)) and just got them. Funnily enough, I have two spotlight figurines.
When they first came out, before they sold out, they were common, doesn't change that very few of them were produced, leading them to be rarer nowadays. 😀
In my old Skylanders collection there was, echo, thunderbolt, blackout, shortcut, spotlight, eons elite whirlwind, trailblazer, fling kong, traps and gusto. So um yeah, I owned quite rare characters before my house burnt when i was 9. So im nowadays 16 and i think i could start collecting Skylanders again. I btw Shortcut and blades with pretty cheap price from my long time friend.
Here’s hoping you can get some of those rare Skylanders! Sorry your first collection went down in flames, but I guess that just means your collection was 🔥
I got both Wild Storm and Row Bow at Toy's R Us (USA) early in their releases. Wild Storm is one of my favorite Sensei's, but I'm not a huge fan of Row Bow. I'll have to give him another look. Thanks for the countdown.
I must admit, a couple years ago, I found Ro Bow In an EB Games second hand bin, and only paid about $25-$30AUD, I was only starting to get back into the series at the time, and buying quite a few second hand, and I lucked out on him and Blackout too among some others 😅
Honestly i think chompy mage is ever so slightly rarer than wild storm but thats my opinon as wildstorm hasnt be selling particularly well in my area of uk but it deffo feels good to almost this entire list excluding breeze but i dont care about mini in slightest so i doesnt matter that im missing one
I stopped collecting Skylanders a long time ago, but I still have the good rarer characters like Kaos, Chompy Mage, Wild Storm (bought day 1), Ro Bow (bought at a Toys R Us day 1), Spotlight, Blackout, and the Dark and Light Expansions. I still hoping to get Echo, Whirlwind, and Double Dare Trigger Happy.
I got Scratch for Christmas when I was about 12 years old and she was was favourite Skylander ever since and I still have her to this day. Pretty awesome to know that she is rare!
years ago, youghly around the tail end of swap force, me and my brother had a respectable collection of characters, but due to being stupid and arguing alot, we actually ended up losing near *all* of thm, with only the few damaged ones we ha being spared. now, all i have is an undamaged (at least i think theyre undamaged as i havent gotten my hands on any of the games in forever) knight mare. id kill to be able to have all those figurines again and be able to play once more, and to try out knight mare. as ive had her for a few years now, but mostly as a collectible as things stand
That's an interesting story. Knightmare is a rarer and more expensive character atleast. Hopefully you'll rebuild your collection and play the games again someday. :)
In this moment i think chompy mage is the rarest...ro bow and wildstorm were at least in some stores...chompy mage was only avaiable for preorder on amazon and never in stores
In certain regions his distribution was much better. Wildstorm and robow are just the notorious top 2 in this instance, but all 3 are practically interchangeable.
You forgot punk shock, this little one took me two years to find (I'm from Europe so I don't know if she was more present in other parts of the world) I found it in a bazar and she was in a very good state
When i was little i loved using scratch, this glow in the dark sonic boom and blackout what i hated was that scratch and blackout couldnt rlly fly to get around like sonic boom did but still loved to use them and loved their design
I had both knightlight and knightmare and they were half the price as the expansion pack because these were just by themselves so I was disappointed that I didn't got sunscraper and Midnight Museum along with the traps at toys r us
I stopped playing skylanders at superchargers because I couldnt get past a certain part of the game if I didnt have an air vehicle or something. It was a part of the game involving chickens and you could make them grow or shrink I think.
Nah, all the sky sections were only optional. 🤣 It were the land sections which were compulsory to advance. Luckily for those, you had the instant vehicle, which would be used whenever you didn't have a vehicle on the portal, so even without the figures, the game could still be played.
Wow, coming back to the whole Skylanders thing and realizing their worth still after so many years of me not playing I want to go hunting again and crack open the Wii just to play giants all over again
Of all the Giants Lightcores (besides variants), Pop Fizz was the rarest one, but that's really the only extent to his rarity. Once again, I never had trouble finding him personally, I had bigger issues finding lightcore Chill funnily enough.
So many of these I’m still searching for. But I think so far Hood Sickle is the hardest for me to find atm (Aus) but hopefully I’ll get it cheap enough online or maybe at a CEX 🤣
hey igknight the fire. I bet you have a grand collection as well. the only ones I am missing from the top 10 are echo, spotlight, and blackout. for the special mentions, its thrillapede, hood sickle, and wallop. question by your skills and personality who would you be out of the sensies. I would be grave clobber.
No idea which sensei I would be. But I hope you get those characters soon. One of my most popular videos is my collection showcase, so if you ever want to check out my collection, look no further than that video. ;)
I’m only missing lightcore bumble blast, chompy mage, wild storm and ro bow. All the others I was able to find at a cheaper than market price. I got breeze for $50 when she normally sells for $100+
@@Igknightthefire do u also hope they make a new skylander game with toys2life i really hope so my fav present i ever got was skylanders giants starter pack for my birthday and now being 20 wishing for a next game
I remember years ago I made a trade on the skylanders subreddit where I traded NIB light and dark expansion packs for NIB mini’s of air/fire/wind and water Which at the time where never released in my area Looking back the other guy might have gotten the better end of the deal but eh, all good I guess Still I look back at how much of a risk it was actually doing that
I have the following Drobot [car boot sale] Thrillipede [tyne bargains is the best] Chain reaction [nothing 2 say] Knight light [worth the 22 pounds I spent 2 get him]
… the number of these I had… and sold for basically nothing tbc it just got to be to much and needed the weight off my shoulders lol… hurts. I had so many of these
Damn, watching this reminded me how bummed I was when I tried to get Blackout, but I NEVER found him in any store. And Echo I had to order through Amazon. At that time, it was either her, or Blackout, and I chose Echo. No regrets, I just wish I had that dark dragon. And yes, I still have all my figures from all the way since Spyro's Adventure. My favorite of the games was Supercharged, but Giants holds a special place for me. ... Wish someone would revive the games, maybe for some special occasion. Make the figures work on the game, as well as sell them digitally... I digress... I miss this series of games, and although I only have access to Imaginators on Switch, I like popping the game in at times and playing around to kill time. (I only got Crash and Cortex from the extra sets :( )
I had a choice for either echo, spotlight or blackout at retail. I chose Echo. Only regretted it for about 3 years, where I found spotlight and blackout combined pre-owned for £17, so cheaper than retail anyways. 😀
Its sad because i bought ro-bow way back when, bht his feather fell off, so im sure a lot of the value was lost, that being said i would never sell him😂
@Igknightthefire Yea I would never, also, I'm just too lazy to sell things online😂 but if I ever did sell it, I wouldn't be out there price gouging it😅
ok watching the video I was thinking well I wonder if hoodsicle would be there because he wasn't just in the bundle like chompy but when I saw the mentions I was pissed my friend stole my hoodsicle Edit: spelling and grammar
@@Igknightthefire yea it sucks, like why would you steal something from a friend other if you weren't friends but still its wrong so what's the point you could press charges over a disk or some plastic point not worth it.
After Giants, Undead characters from Spyro's Adventure started to become much harder to find. Cinder was also in shortage until a later wave, where she was released. Chop chop and Hex however, I never had any trouble finding.
Europe was a little exaggeration. Plus, it doesn't help that until now, that's only what I've heard. Based on personal experiences, I live in the UK, which is Europe. I NEVER saw him at retail, and I travelled to different places in the country at the time. Perhaps now, you can see why it's easy for me to make the assumption.
Interesting, never been Germany. I should've said he never got a UK release, rather than an European release, because that seems to be more accurate. S2 Drobot still incredibly rare though.
@@Igknightthefire cool, I have the orange drobot lol. I do have the orange bash one tho, it's nice to see that one of my skylanders are pretty rare in the states.
In countries where its available, CEX isn't too bad. Ebay you can large bundles of common figures for very low prices. Mecari, Facebook Marketplace are other places you can look. Pawn shops, charity stores, yard/car boot sales and used game stores are your next best bet. 😉
A little information might be wrong, that placement is based also on my personal experiences, and I NEVER even saw him in retail. Even in regions where he was more common, I remember watching skylander hunting videos where people were always struggling to find him. Number 9 is where he belongs, from my personal recollection. Seeing a character a couple times in retail, and buying them, doesn't qualify them as common or easy to get, in that case, there might as well be no list whatsoever. Lol 🤣
If you got her when she first came out, that was when she was at her most common, but yeh, finding her in the wild past 2014 is indeed incredibly lucky. ;)
