Been to Paris 6 times and it has always been a great experience. I lived in Germany for 4 years, so it was very easy.

I'm studying french but oh, it's so hard! Hopefully I get to visit that city one day.

As a French myself here's a few things I'd like to add to this. If you are thinking about moving to Paris then you should read this. - You discussed transportation to other countries. Yes it's true you have access to plenty of other places from Paris without the need of a car. Heck you can even go to other countries around France like Germany, Italy, Spain, etc, who won't even ask for your passport if you aren't flying to them. But one thing you forgot to mention though is that Paris is home to the 2nd largest airport in Europe (called Charles De Gaulles) and also the 10th largest airport in the world where you can fly directly to 265 destinations in 103 countries. Some of the longest destinations include Los Angeles, Mexico City, Rio De Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore with Santiago being the longest possible one. - For healthcare, you do have to pay off a thing called healthcare insurance but other than that, booking a healthcare-related appointment is pretty much free at any time only if you have health insurance. Health insurance costs €40 per month for 1 person. Plus €40 for one person each month would be enough to pay all of the healthcare workers in the country because since France has a population of about 65 million people then that would be at least €2.6 billion given to healthcare workers from everyone in the country each month. And it's not just Paris where this exists but it's everywhere in France. Other things that exist everywhere in France too include the free education, cultural contexts, the diversity of nationalities of people living in the country and also the fact that people get a lot of holidays compared to almost the rest of the world. - Safety. This one's debatable. Although Paris isn't actually voted off as the most dangerous city in France, some parts of Paris can still de dodgy in some parts at some times. To me though, crime is high in Paris but it's not the sort of crime where you should worry about being harmed or killed. Sneaky burglary is still a bit high so a piece of advice would be if you ever park your car outside, don't let anything valuable be easily seen through any of the windows otherwise you could expect someone to break a window and steal valuables from your car if they see any. You also have to be careful in the metro (despite how good it is) because pickpockets are common there. Scammers also lurk beside popular tourist spots and I've seen videos about them on TikTok so I wouldn't really recommend you to buy anything or show interest in anyone that is sat on the side road beside famous attractions that sell stuff that is placed on the ground in front of them. - When it comes to beauty of the city, you're saying it like it's beautiful everywhere you go in it and that it can't get out of your eyes when you're in it. What I'm about to say isn't from my experience but from other people's (who have visited the country) experiences there. I have heard some of them saying that Paris isn't pretty because they sometimes see rubbish on the streets. But of course, you won't see this 100% of the time there but it can still happen for a city that's well-known for beauty. Another thing to consider here is that Paris is a mega city (a city with more than 10 million people) and pretty much every mega city in the world has dirty spots. Countries like China and India have mega cities that are heavily polluted but they aren't talked about as much as Paris simply because Paris is more touristic. Anyone who has been to Paris and came across dirty parts are just unlucky. - People who have visited Paris often say that Parisians tend to be rude. And yeah, I agree with them but from my experience with Parisians: They tend to be normal or kind when speaking French. It's really when they speak English that I've noticed they can be rude. I guess it's kind of an issue with knowing English since a lot of French people don't tend to learn English a lot because of how popular French already is. And since English isn't an official language in France either, you can't really blame anyone in France for having trouble finding their manners in English! This also goes to show that you can't become a resident in France whilst knowing just English. But if you're a tourist and you wanna see nice people in France, you'll find friendly people anywhere outside of Paris. It only tends to be Paris where French people can get rude. - And lastly, for education, yes it's free but it's not great compared to most of the developed world. You'd regularly get more school holidays and more days off in a school year in France compared to most developed countries. But because of that, it causes school days to be very long. School days in France aren't exactly the same everywhere in the country but most school days in France can last up to 9 hours in one day especially for students in secondary/high school. So unless you want to raise children and you want them to learn within a good education system that doesn't require them to spent so long in school, France wouldn't be your cup of tea for that. Paris, the City of Lights, la Ville Lumières, the City of Cities! ❤️ Of all the big cities in the world, Paris is the most beautiful, the most livable, the most charming and enticing. Nowhere else in the world can you find in one place so much of the best that human culture in so many fields has to offer: History, the arts, literature, gastronomy and so on, and excellence in every field! As a matter of fact, the French tend to excel in everything that they do; they hold themselves to a higher standard than many other countries, they demand it. Nothing less will do. That's their secret. As the protagonist in "Midnight in Paris" says: When Paris exists, how can you live in any other city! (Not an exact quote.) An aside: I should perhaps add that I speak fluent French and lived in Paris for a year with a French family in the 6th arrondissement near the Luxembourg park. At the time, the beautiful sandstone buildings had recently been cleaned from decades of dirt and the buildings had regained their original cream-colored façades. There is one thing, though: In order to really enjoy life in Paris - or anywhere in France, for that matter - it pays to learn French thoroughly, including the correct pronunciation (very important), and to immerse yourself in French history and culture. Anybody who takes the trouble to do this will see their life immeasurably enriched!

Huuuuuuuuuuuuugely expensive, large, very very dirty, homless-ridden, very smelly, very crime-ridden, overpriced, very over-estimated city. Yeah, parts of it are very beautiful, and many old crooked streets are awesome. Generally, Berlin ans Warsaw appeal much more to me.

Paris is the best city in the world of all of the cities in which I have ever live in or visited. There are a good number of great cities, but Paris is number one in my book.

I'm French and we don't get minimum 6 weeks of paid holidays we get 5 and it's what most people get. Also I'm pretty sure there are much safer places out there. I think you shouldn't come to France if not for the culture because I believe there are better places to live like the nordic countries, Australia and stuff. It's still a great place to live tho, most other points were valid.

I've seen ALL your episodes and I love them all . This is one is very bad. paris is NOT a safe city. Yes I don't like paris, you could have done any other french city.

Studied abroad in London, went to Paris for a weekend. Hated the food, alcohol, and overall vibe. You couldn’t pay me enough to go back. I always say if you like NY then go but otherwise stay far away.
