Revelations is one of my favourite RE games. I know a lot of people consider it pretty average, but something about it is just so comfy to me. As an aside, the Rev1 Complete Works is one of the better design books I've seen. SO much great concept art in there. A must have for any budding character designer, I think.
this is one of my favorite resident evil games ever. i played it when it first came out on the 3DS and it scared the shit out of me. It was ahead of its time and super underrated.
Wait, why? the story brought nothing to the table, and I do agree raid mode was good, but overall the game brought nothing new or extra. It felt like a lot of concepts were backtracked and scrapped which would have made it better, leaving it to be kind of generic. I did like this game, but the main (only) problems I had with it was the absolutely annoying boxy movement, and how the story had nothing to really bring over (in my perspective which is why I feel like maybe I missed something others loved from it)
I bought a Nintendo 3DS because of Resident Evil: Revelations and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. One of my memorable gaming experience is playing Resident Evil: Revelations during a stormy night and the power is out.
I've decided to come back and just list some of the things Ink Ribbon left out or got slightly wrong. Ink Ribbon will probably ignore this post as he doesn't seem to really read comments after a few days so for those of you browsing please feel free to read: -First off: Wall Blister. Wall Blister was actually planned for the original 3DS version. its model is even still in the files of said version, albeit without textures. -The original 3DS version features touch screen features not present in any other version of the game! Even the Wii U and Switch versions leave these out. The circuit board puzzle was kept in in all versions of the game but there were two more. The first isn't really much of a puzzle but it does involve the touch screen. First off to access the lab when Jill scans her finger print, you're prompted to use the touch screen to scan yours. then when Jill enters her fingerprint at the lab door you need to put your finger on the touch screen again. Additionally, there was another touch screen puzzle involving the blowtorch Jill uses on the doors on the Queen Dido. This puzzle is pretty frustrating which is no surprise why it was removed. You have to guide the blow torch along the line on the door perfectly. Go out of the lines even once and you have to start over again... -The Trish Soda Machines actually first appeared in both Resident Evil Outbreak games. They can be found in the "Below Freezing Point" Scenario in file#1 and "Underbelly" scenario in file #2. Because Umbrella Chronicles uses Outbreak maps for the Raccoon City sections, the soda machine from Underbelly scenario can also be found in Umbrella Chronicles as well. -The Unused creature that is dressed like Raymond is not actually Raymond at all. His name is Richard. Richard was eventually replaced by Rachael though it seems his outfit design was reused by Raymond. Richard actually appears in Rachael's place in the Revelations Demo that comes with "Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D" on 3DS. He suffers the same fate as Rachael. Being slammed against the very same window as her. His screams and grunts sound like they belong to Roger Craig Smith. There are leftover scripts in the final that reference him crawling through vents much like Ooze Rachael does. That about wraps things up. Hope this was educational.
I hope Jessica and Raymond appears again. I find Jessica having a lot of similarities with Ada, like they come from the same company, doing deep undercover missions to retrieve the virus sample, and using their feminine charm to get to what they want
Great video, I think this is one of your best “Secrets and Easter Eggs” videos yet! I feel like this is a seriously underrated RE game, and it’s nice to see it get some appreciation!
Thanks for letting me know. I was hoping Chris would reveal his true feelings to Jill when she tries to scan him. I guess we'll never know the answer. I tried to scan Jessica using Chris and Parker, she's not saying anything. I'm waiting for some witty response but she's just standing there 😅. It's time to log off now.
I played this for the first time on PC; It did indeed feel like it captured a very spooky atmosphere, and it definitely made me feel like it was what the Resident Evil Franchise was meant to be. If only 0 and 1 HD Remasters were like Revelations 1, and 2.
Rachael is my favorite character in Raid Mode. Her design is cool, she's attractive looking, and she has a very positive, upbeat attitude and personality in Raid Mode. I think of her as the Daisy to Jill's Peach. I like to think she could be resurrected, cured, or cloned and make a return in the Resident Evil series as a character like her is too well designed to let go to waste.
This was the first ever Resident Evil game I’ve played so this game has a place in my memory that I’ll never forget. I hope they do one more in the series.
Another strange fun fact, in Project X zone 2, Chris and Jill were on their way to one of the ships in the game during the events of the Project X zone. It's also stated that a couple of other characters were going to said ship for their own investigation.
Also i really wanna know what happened to these characters, capcom keeps bringing in lots and lots of characters that they always us to imagine what could possibly have happened to them or they dont give them proper closure
I guess it's the end of the world people die all the time from monsters and zombies most die others proably send some where to fight the break that's the best I can come up with
I’ve always had Rev 1 and 2 in my backlog but I will be playing them soon. I’ve been intrigued by the Revelations series because the plot seems fresh and the concept art is very good. I hope for Rev 3 in the near future Edit: I finished them. Great games!
I miss this game. I forget if it came out before or after RE6, but I played 6 first. So Revelations was a breath of fresh air in comparison. I’m glad it got ported to the 360 and ps3 otherwise I never would have played it.
Revs is underrated. Was the best RE game around during the RE5-6 era. Also Raid mode was amazing, especially with the REnet support Revs 2 wasn't as good, felt like RE6 gameplay if it wasn't bullshit, but the island and character stories was good. Raid was a let down, fun gameplay but waaay too many RE6 maps and the Omega level was shit.
It was tough for me to get past fighting blob monsters rather than zombies. Just didn't feel right to me but I can understand why people liked it though
Regarding fact number nine, I think I have an explanation for as to why the male zombie was replaced by Rachel. In the demo version of Resident Evil Revelations, which can be played via The Mercenaries 3D game, a male FBC agent was the one killed by the creatures, and not Rachel (which was seen in the final version in the game). That demo may have come to mind about the creature design. I could only speculate.
On raid mode with a buddy trying to get the platinum. Been on a RE binge going for all the resi plats. Your vids have been entertaining along the ride. Inspired by the series I might write my next concept album based on surviving a mansion or something. Inspired by King Diamond's Them as well. Anyway, great work!
T-Abyss backstory was funny for me, some researchers found Abyss Virus that will grant them nobel prize and staple their name in science book, but before that they mix it with T-virus first because what can go wrong.....
There are so few games ive been absolutely impressed and blown away by and Resident Evil Revelations is definitely one of those games. Especially considering it being a 3DS game i felt it rivaled what the 360 was doing at that time IMO. btw Congrats Kai on the new milestone. LETS GET KAI TO 100k!
I think it would have been really cool to talk about Jill’s new face model here, too! ^^ I always found it strange that this game went with her face model that had only just debuted in Operation Raccoon City rather than Julia Voth, despite being a direct prequel to RE5 🤔
Capcom: you know all the western style fantasy creatures we have been saving up since the old games? RE Team: omg is it time? Capcom: now we have enough to populate a village.
I played Revelations for the first time last year on tge PS3 and I was instantly hooked. Chris and Jill are my favorite characters so I love playing RE games that focus on them. Therefore Revelations is in my top 3 of favorite RE games. I love the setting, the monsters are great, and to be honest Revelations is so far the RE game that has scared me the most. It's very atmospheric and I love it. Also Rechael is an awesome stalker enemy. Being RE5 another of my favorite RE games I absolutely loved the connections Revelations showed to it. Like the paintings on the ship, the end credit scene of Chris and Jill arriving at the Spencer Estate which is the start of Lost in Nightmares, and Raymond and Jessica working for Tricell. It's a shame this last detail seems to have been dropped by Capcom, but I really would have like to see Raymon and Jessica back as villains again against Chris and Jill at some point. Maybe in a Revelations 3? Oh well, I can still wish. My only complain with this game is that Raid Mode doesn't allow for split screen game play. It's an excellent game mode and I wish I could play it with a friend like I play Mercenaries. Seriously, Revelations is a great game, I appreciate any game with gives me more of the epic duo that is Valenfield. And thanks for all these details and info. Some I knew, some I didn't. Thanks👍
Interesting stuff. A lot of them I already knew but.. there were a couple of things that I`m glad I could learn from your hard work. Thank you kindly for that.
Loved this game on 3DS, it was fantastic for its time and had a lot of secrets. The Raid mode kept pulling me back again and again, even grabbed it for PC for the Raid mode. Great video as always!
I still have a missing plot to understand Revelations as whole, how outbreak in Zenobia actually started? that gas masked guy suppose to be Raymon then he's responsible kill all Zenobia's passengers? and O'brien the one ordered him?
Ricky H The Zenobia didn't have any passengers when the outbreak started, it was functioning as a base for Veltro during the attacks, when the attacks were successful Lansdale released the virus on the ships to get rid of evidence. After that he sent researchers to the ships to study the effects of the virus and to develop a vaccine, when the vaccine was completed he started another outbreak to make sure there would be no evidence. As for Raymond, he disguised himself as Veltro as part of his plan with O'Brian to expose Lansdale. During the post credits scene you can see that in reality, he and Jessica were both working to get the virus for Tricell.
Very nice video. Good details. In my opinion this is the best Resident Evil. I am conscious that it hasn't got the best sound, graphics, music and playability but, its story is the best and the add of all parts makes it the best game in the franchise. It has a good cliffhanger and replaying. Also the raid mode tests your hability and the cooperativeness is very nice to do new friends and lighter the challenging level (for example to do Trinity bonus in all stages and getting rank S to get Hunk).
I actually really enjoyed this game. The controls on the PS5 felt RAZOR sharp. That was the first time a resident evil game didn't feel kind of clunky to me.
Finally to see some easter eggs featured in this game. xD Well done. Also, seeing Jill wink in game also shows her somehow playful side, which I appreciate. 😍
That one of my favorite Resident Evil game for the horror, my favorite characters (Jill & Chris) and playing in old cruise ships with creatures like Ooze is terrifying It’s really better to play in 3ds you just to play in dark with headphone Thanks to capcom for creating this game on 3ds
Aww, you didn't mention that the Veltro base in the snowy mountains apparently is in Finland, since it's called Valkoinen Mökki, which is Finnish and translates to "White Cabin".
Easter egg for revelations 2. Gina Foley shares a surname with Rachel. They both have similar appearances and hairstyles. They work in similar industries and they are possibly sisters although it is never confirmed if they are sisters or cousins or if their surnames being the same is just a coincidence.
The Pale Rider is also a reference to the Tim Burton Batman movie. Joker uses a revolver with a comically long barrel to shoot the bat-wing out of the sky. Joker also delivers the line "Have you ever danced with the devil in the Pale moonlight?" twice. Quint also Remade Jill's and Barry's Samurai Edge Beretta's to their current appearance.
completing all the achievements in this game was a huge pain. getting to level 50 in the revelations 1 raid mode was pretty unreasonable as far as achievements go lol.
Revelations was the first resident evil game to actually stop me dead in my tracks and make me consider whether I wanted to keep playing when I encountered Rachael
I actually own the 3ds version and it has the typo on the name Lmao. Besides that, Resident Evil Revelations is one of the best games on the franchise, along with Code Veronica and Re2.
I wish Rachel could get more love and attention like other characters do. I'd love her to do a sick comeback with Piers in future RE games. Just imagine her and Piers being found still alive, because the virus kept them alive, they would get the antivirus and be a playable characters! ooh I wish it would be true...
