I'd say "Gasoline" by Seether should be one here! That one is nasty enough when I listen to it, I say "shit, I'm glad one of my exes didn't write this about me." Also, a classic. "Don't You Want Me?" by Human League. You can't get more savage than a dude basically saying, you were an utter waste when I found you, you were NOTHING, and I can leave you in the same state. More obscure, but my personal favorite is Better Than Ezra's "Allison Foley." And "G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T." by Changing Faces is pretty good too. Anything else missing everyone already mentioned(P!nk, Eamon, Jojo's "Leave(Get Out)", AAR "Gives You Hell")

"You're So Vain" always reminds me of James Bond (especially the last verse), so I assumed that character was one of Simon's inspirations as well. Glad that song was on this list! I was expecting Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" to be on there, maybe even no. 1. And I'd also suggest Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made For Walkin' ", one of my favourite songs from childhood.

There is a swedish revenge-song that is basically a swedish version of "A dear John-letter". Now if you've heard this song, the word revenge-song will not be the first that springs to mind, but in the swedish version, the song does not end with John's ex wanting her picture back. Let's pick it up where the original "A Dear John-letter" ends. John has just read that his ex's new fiancé wants her picture: Here follows the swedish continuation translated into english: "The boys in my unit thought this was just too much. I had alway lived only for her. They gathered up all the photos of girls that they had and they made me write this: 'I don't remember how you look. Take out your photo and return the others to me. signed Your dear John.'" How is that for a revenge-song?
