Comparing these typical Japanese love stories will be so unfair. Despite most of the movies in the list are great and your name is a masterpiece, yet even it would be a trash compared to Spirited Away. The greatest Japanese anime movie ever created. And among the top 5 greatest anime movies.
Makoto Shinkai is the obvious gold medal winner here. 5 out of 13 movies. Personally, I have watched Your Name about ten times, 5 Centimeters per Second about 25 times and Garden of Words about 100 times. So much beauty in those movies. (Weathering for You, not so much. It's good, but not a masterpiece like the others.) I'm looking forward to the new one in January.

Exept that, I don't watch that much anime. About other movies, I would reccomend "Princess Mononoke" (If I wrote it correctly) and "Spirited Away" (These animes aren't romance). Weathering with you is a fantasy romantic movie, and I really enjoyed it when I watched it, I didn't say I hate it or the movie is not well made. There are too many similar type of movies with the same type genre like weathering with you. Everyone have different choices and different taste, I don't mind about that. I only got offended because he stated "Weathering With You" As masterpiece. There are too many movies those are far better than "Weathering With You". Let's suppose a person says that Tokyo Revengers is masterpiece, than again it will definitely make me offended. There are too many anime which can also be considered as masterpiece but not well recognised or non trending anime like fmab and code geass. Just like that stating weathering with you as a masterpiece only feels like a "🧢" as compared to other masterpiece anime movies I've watched like- grave of the fireflies, spirited away and your name etc. Some underrated anime movies which can slightly said as masterpiece are- Paprika, Perfect Blue, etc but they aren't well recognised.
