I've heard of at least half of the creatures on this list, but whether we've heard of them or not they still all serve the same purpose to exist in mythology and to terrorize humans when they are revealed.

Wasn't mentioned in the video, but if people are wondering "what's so scary about the Manananggal?", the scary thing about it is that it could be anyone -- the prettiest girl in your class, the next door neighbor, the kind old lady down the street -- and you won't know it. The manananggal is known to be impossible to distinguish when in human form. Also, in folktales and movies, whole towns are seen capturing and burning alive dozens of innocent women accused of being a manananggal, teaching us that we humans can become just as monstrous as the monster we're trying to hunt down.

@@AdorableFloof1999 I remember the first edition of the Fiend Folio had the penanggalan, the female vampire whose head and guts detached from its body at night and sought out a male victim. It had to soak its guts in a vat of vinegar to reattach itself. At that time, I thought that was as bizarre as D&D monsters could get, and the illustrations in that book were freaky as hell. I don't play anymore, but I've been hooked on the game's imaginarium my whole life.

They are some mythical creatures here in the Philippines that were too scary enough (they were even shown in horror movies like the Shake, Rattle and Roll series) like The Tiyanak(a cursed demonic baby who had died and never baptised), mangkukulam/mangbabarang(similar to the witch doctor or albularyo, instead of healing or driving away evil spirits, they put curse on whoever done bad or hurt them)Bakunawa, a mythical sea serpent, it is believed that causes earthquakes, eclipses and storms.

WTF!? Almost everybody (and their mother) has heard of the chupacabra, it’s one of the most famous american cryptids. La Llorona and Baba Yaga are quite well-known as well (the first even before the movie). Also, strigoi aren’t just romanian…the term is romanian, but the creature itself belongs to *slavic* folklore - going under different names depending from the country or region.

I also read that some women that turned into RokuRokubi from a curse did not necessarily do something heinous themselves, but a husband or someone else they loved did something, and the curse that were meant for them, somewhat "bounced" and cursed the women instead. With that sense, a Rokurokubi could potentially become less malevolent.

Described as a man-like creature covered in thick hair, the woodwose often appeared in heraldic symbols and carvings on churches. It was supposed to be more human-like than Bigfoot is described as, usually wearing a loincloth and carrying a wooden club.

La Cegua is similar to a Guatemalan legend called "La Siguanaba". Supposedly, men walking back from the bars may meet a beautiful woman in a diaphanous gown that incites them to follow her. She leads them on by staying just a little out their reach until they get to the very edge of a barranco or ravine. She then reveals her half woman-half horse face. The shock of which drives the men over the ravine and to their death. The only way to escape is to pull a certain root or bush that causes her pain.
@rilldineth

Yes, El Salvador seems to have both La Cegua and La Siguanaba as separate entities, haha. Because yes, la Siguanaba does that of luring men to ravines or appearing to them in creeks washing clothes, and she appears either naked or topless, but in Salvadorean legend the Siguanaba doesn't has a horse face, she turns into a hideous old lady with sagging breasts and it that scare that can kill you or the illness of the encounter if you happen to survive.

They do like to celebrate other people's achievements as if it was their own just because the aforementioned people have a quarter Filipino blood in them. This is pretty sad (Not hating, just saying)

A very little known mythical monster is the Ghorapak of Assam, India. It haunts river banks, swamps and ponds with a half-horse and half-human body. It can also shape-shift into anyone and alter its size at will.

It is similar to the Tikbalang, a Filipino mythical creature who has a head and feet of a horse and body of a human, the scream of a Tikbalang causes travellers to get lost in the jungle.

I've actually seen most of these from playing Yokai Watch, also who hasn't heard of the Chupacabra.

Rokurokubi unlike nukekubi don't usually present any real danger other than scaring the hell out of those who encounter it. However, most the nukekubi and rokurokubi are unaware of their curse. They don't remember anything from the nightly terrors they cause. A very simular yokai being the futakuchi onna that stuffs its mouth with food on the back of a woman's head saying terrible things to her

Two of my favorite horrifying monsters are the wendigo of algonquin tribe and the draugr of norse mythology I mean one is the literal personification of winter and cannibalism and the other is near to impossible to kill or put back in its grave both are very powerful creatures and very horrifying
