id be perfectly fine with telling you what the elders wont of the skinwalkers, i carry the blood and history in my family long enough back i also inherited a lot of legends and stories that while being legend and story are all based in something factual. a skinwalker is the answer to what 90 percent of what i hear sighted that is unknown, or sighted before someone disappeared that was unexplained.

my choice is a two-way tie. Siren Head and Cartoon Cat. Siren Head is a humanoid creature that stands at 40 feet tall and has a pair of siren speakers for a head hence it's name. it can camouflage and use it's sirens as a way to attract human prey, it does this by mimicking human voices, radio broadcasts and even animal. Cartoon Cat is stated to be the most dangerous of all of Trevor Henderson's monsters. he has the appearance of a anthropomorphic cat from a cartoon of the 1930s (doubt Micky Mouse will survive a fight with him) due to him being a rubber hose type, he can stretch his arms to grab any human that encounters him. the only way to basically kill him is with Dip from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. it might not kill permanently but enough to escape with your life.

Cipitio is a legendary character from Salvadoran folklore revolving around the Siguanaba and Cadejo legends. He is generally portrayed as an 8 to 10 year old boy with a large conical hat and a pot belly.

As a Salvi, I can confirm this is correct. He is also the son of La Siguanaba, cursed with immortality by the rain god Tlaloc. He loves plátanos and when he flees, he twists his feet backwards so that he tricks his pursuers in going the other direction.

Here in New Jersey, USA, we have the legend of the Jersey Devil. 😈Mother Leeds discovers she's pregnant with her 13th child. "Let it be the devil", she says. The child is normal at birth, but soon turns into a horrible creature and flies up the chimney and terrorizes the countryside.
@arjyachatterjee6874
@arjyachatterjee6874 Год назад
Jesey Devil was the first creature which I came to know as cryptid. Then, I come to know about chupacabra and other creatures like loch ness monster, yeti, bigfoot, colossal squid, sun lion, man - eating tree of Madagascar, ahool etc. But the most terrifying of all was none other than chupacabra. But there are some cryptids like colecanth fish, komodro dragon, okapi etc. whose existence are proved. So cryptozoology is not entirely a useless study or research in terms of systematic biology.
@arjyachatterjee6874
@arjyachatterjee6874 Год назад
I must also consider Bunyip who is actually my first cryptid but on that time, I didn't know that that kind of monsters or creatures are called cryptids from the Bengali adventure novel of "Chander Pahar or Mountain of the Moon". The monster was depicted in Africa as the creature idea of the author (Bibhutibhushan Bandhopadhyay) while according to myths, it is the legend of Australia (I really don't know whether bunyip exists in Africa but according to websites, it is only showing Australia). The kappa tortoises of Japan can also be first cryptids from watching cartoons like Doraemon, Ninja Hattori etc. but like bunyip, I don't know that they are known as cryptids (I don't know whether kappa are only legendary creatures or cryptids but I think both of them have minor differences, legendary creatures mean those creatures of legend or myths whose evidence of existence is not found concretely whereas cryptids are also entities of folklore but there are unconfirmed evidences of such creatures like photographs, video tapes, footprints etc.) I don't know whether this definition is accurate but I think if some evidences of legendary creatures like griffin, unicorn, nagas are discovered, they will turn into cryptids.

The most scariest monster on the Philippines was TikTik, it's name is based on its animal sound they say "Tik tik tik tik." in a tiny voice, they prey on pregnant woman or toddler, they have awful smell like a rotten fish or corpse. If you heard it's sound so quite it means it's nearby, when you hear them loud it means they're faraway. And they had this hairy features and long tongue. I'm not speaking of it as folklore or legend, i experienced it, back on 2009 my aunt was pregnant and we have family gathering and suddenly we smell something awful or rotten then we heard a sound saying, "tik-tik." it's quite, then a huge bounce on our neighbors roof we heard it again then my cousin saw something staring at certain room, it's my aunt's room. Then all of us arm ourselves with garlic and salt we can't fight it with blades or something, because it's bloods poisonous and cursed. Then we heard it again but it's to loud it means it goes away. It's true man, I'm not lying i still remember the sound and the smell

woah, i didn't expect manananggal would be the no. 1 lol. but yeah, there's a certain province here in the philippines that's said to be their and so many witches' (mangkukulam) home (they are often associated together). ofc it can always be just tales and myths, but it's worth pointing the fact that most (if not all) bus drivers there sternly warn their passengers to never buy food from just anybody and only eat on stores where they would stop. my dad's friends learned the hard way when they didn't listen and spent a month in the hospital. they didn't even know what hit them but it was only after buying from a street vendor near the terminal. everytime my dad goes there for business for many years, the same warning was always repeated. townsfolk said the witches/manananggal do that to lure fresh victims.

In the netherlands we have the Witte wieven. well i think this part of the book i bought explains it better In Dutch mythology and legends, the Witte Wieven (also known as Wittewijven) are spirits of "wise women" (or else elven beings). The mythology dates back at least to the pre-Christian era (7th century) and was known in the present-day regions of the Netherlands, Belgium and parts of France. In some places they were known as Juffers or Joffers ("ladies"), or as Dames Blanches (White Ladies) in French.

Edit: Just saw Skinwalkers made the top 10. FYI those masked dancers at 9:58-10:07 are not Skinwalkers. They are recreated dances personifying sacred Navajo deities. Also, those are photos taken by the late photographer Edward Curtis. Who is still controversial to this day about the subject of Native American representation.
