Guess Who's Coming to Criticize Dinner? is one of my favorite all time episodes, top 3 for me... so many quick shot jokes like THAR, SHE BLOWS and "you're gonna kill him with a pastry? I've seen this man eat a bowl of change!" And "you love shake and bake, you used to put it in your coffee!" Lol And get well soon..

I came here to post this lmao. The episode deserves to be in the top three of season 11 imo. Its so fast paced and wacky by the time they leave town that I don't even care if the initial premise is weak. Like the writers were just having too much fun while the animators produced some of the craziest drawing of the season

Even though it was slow descent, Season 10 to 11 is probably the "biggest" drop in quality between two seasons of this show.

Same here. Season 11 was the first time where I "felt" a noticeable difference. There were still laughs to be had, but It just wasn't the same anymore and most episodes left me feeling strangely hollow somehow.

Honestly I can’t get enough of “The Mansion Family.” It’s my second favourite of the season just after “Behind the Laughter” because it’s just so funny. Sure the pirate stuff is kinda stupid but it only takes up about three minutes. The rest of the episode is hilarious. It’s got one of those concepts that you just can’t mess up: Homer looks after a mansion. Because of it’s simple yet effective plot, it can fill the episode with some really great jokes like Mr Burns being indestructible and of course “There’s a lot of buzz around Lenny.”

It might honestly be my favorite! It’s genuinely one of my favorite episodes of the entire series, and part of that is because it’s one of the first episodes I’d ever seen of the show, and it was a completely perfect way to get into the show

So I was watching The Mansion Family last night on DVD. The episode ends with Homer sobbing because he wants to be rich. His cries continue over the credits and he keeps commenting that these people are rich with the exception of the credits of the cast. Homer comments "these people deserve way more money than they have." The celebrity guest for the episode: Brittany Spears.

@@audiosurfarchive I disagree. his review of every single Simpsons was more of a gimmick and not actually interesting. Like, when reviewers have different opinions as mine, I’d like to know why they felt that way. TheRealJims explain those stuff in his videos. He also points out many details that I missed and make me appreciate the Simpsons even further. Whereas LS mark just give a minimal comment about an episode and move on to the next.

I was happy to see both "Grift of the Magi" and "Little Big Mom" on the list, given that "Grift" was the last Simpsons episode of the 90s and "Mom" was the first of the 2000s. In a way, they were transitional episodes, defining the end and beginning of different eras.

I'm genuinely surprised by your distaste for the "Bart and Milhouse living at the mall" B-plot. Maybe you're too young to remember an era when living at the mall was the secret dream of many suburban kids. So there's a real wish fulfillment thing going on here. Also, this subplot includes one of my favorite jokes of this era: Homer's "food, fun, and fashion" monologue. It's funny on its own, but they make it even better with Milhouse's bewildered response: "What? What did he say?" The sign is a subtle joke. The shop is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed", where feed and seed both end in the sound "-eed", thus rhyming with the name of the owner, Sneed. The sign says that the shop was "Formerly Chuck's", implying that the two words beginning with "F" and "S" would have ended with "-uck", rhyming with "Chuck". So, when Chuck owned the shop, it would have been called "Chuck's Fuck and Suck".

Season 11 was crazy and I love it. Like “little big mom” is still better than “my sister, my sitter”. The later was such a bummer and feels like a really real type of sibling rivalry that ends with someone getting hurt in the end. Although I remember I didn’t like the Funzo episode when I was younger. It just wasn’t that funny to me. So I guess I’d take that out and add the “Mad mad mad marge episode”

My sister my sitter is the only genuinely horrible episode of the first 8 years, which I mean yeah that’s a really good effort, I just don’t get why Barts such an ass in that episode considering he’s admitted to being not as smart or mature as Lisa on many occasions and being content with it, if anything this episode could have been about Lisa falling into Barts immaturity because it looked fun and then something bad happened to Bart

As someone with ADHD who has been on ritalin (and/or similar medications) since I was diagnosed at age 10, I'd really love to see an Extra Seconds on Brother's Little Helper with an informed look at that particular thread from both a contemporary and modern perspective. I feel like you'd be able to do it well. I'd also be more than happy to answer any questions to help out! I'd like to be very clear that medication has been a lifesaver for me, and I know what kind of show the Simpsons is. But I personally feel there's parts of this episode that ring more true than expected. It has issues too, but I'm mostly glad it tried to cover the subject and did it fairly well.

There actually has been a reaction/discussion video done by a psychiatrist on this episode! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qPffnJsTi-g.html Ultimate take-aways were that yes Bart definitely has ADHD but the depiction of ADHD meds causing psychosis is prettty misleading. (Personally as someone else with ADHD who was only diagnosed as an adult I'm a bit unforgiving with this episode but I do like to hear other perspectives!)

Solid list, except E-I-E-I-D'oh is my #2 pick for the year. It's the only episode where I feel the random wackiness of the season gels with the overall episode. I love the Poke of Zorro opening sequence, the call backs to the Simpson farm, and the fact that Homer still has to deal with the duelist at the end of the episode. And Sneed's is the best visual gag of the whole season. I'd switch it with Little Big Mom, which I agree, has the best Act 1 of the season. The post-ski lodge material just really drags it down. One of my favorite bits from Behind The Laughter is the fact that Simpsons Boogie and Simpsons Christmas Boogie are the exact same song, with christmas jammed into the chorus. I laugh every time I think about that joke.

Last Tap Dance is my favorite underrated Simpsons episode. I love the weird Frink shoes and Homers eye surgery and the cat rubbing his eyes and the dance off. And yeah I’d tappa tappa that Vicki too…she is my Simpsons crush😻

During this Era there are so many episodes where the episodes have strong openings and jokes put the plot completely collapses and the ends up being disappointing episode with cheap cop out endings and the storylines lose direction

For me, the best episode of season 11 has always been the last tap dance in Springfield, I love it mostly for the one joke: the song the man plays at the piano store in the mall, “if you’re happy and you know it shop at stans” that joke has always made me laugh out loud, but there are a couple other things I like in that episode like Ralph’s line “teacher my shoes are making noise” and frinks sarcasm at the end “my god these shoes were in the off position”, overall season 11 didn’t have a lot of episodes I overly loved like I did in the golden years but that joke is what has always made that episode stand out to me

Monkey Knife Fight is pretty good in itself. I do appreciate the Homer to Jebus bits from - Missionary Impossible and the Ohgawdohgawd but, 'Stupid Sexy Flander' por vida!

Behind the Laughter is great, but I really love E-I-E-I D'oh. The lamb causing a helicopter crash is a joke so good, Hot Fuzz "borrows" it for its ending. It tastes like grandma indeed.
