God, Karen of the Town's Inn was such a heartbreaking episode. At first it started funny, maybe a little pathetic, but the longer it went on the more you realize there's something wrong with her mental health. But I see that it's still open so maybe getting away from the building helped her.

The lady who owned that Tuscany styled restaurant hated most of 150k update, it's still open. Gordon Ramsay brought a auctioneer to value all those artworks. Let's just say those artworks were fakes.

I live in the area of Monticello and the owner is a drug addict, not just an alcoholic, he doesn’t own the hotel anymore and I think they rent out the rooms as apartments now

It always amuses me when I see the owners who don't realize they're in the hospitality business, but are convinced they're in the entertainment business. Like the Cher impersonator, or the Sherlock Holmes imitator. Yes, you can combine the two. But the main focus has to be clean, comfortable accommodations, followed by delicious food. Then entertainment, however you can provide it. Most entertainment venues focus on hiring in acts, rather than providing the entertainment themselves. For example, Skipper's Smokehouse has been in business since 1980. The food is good; not Mechelen star, but it's not trying to be. But the entertainment is first class. In the year 2000, they won the W.C. Handy Award for being the best blues club in the USA. They also feature rock and roll and reggae, and some of the best bluegrass bands that ever existed have played there. They don't have accommodations. There are nearby hotels and motels if you don't want to drive home. They have their niche nailed down. A hotel that focuses on entertainment rather than accommodation makes me nervous. Once several years ago, my sister and I stopped in Tyler, Texas, on our way to Oklahoma City. She insisted on staying in a B&B. The place was packed to the ceiling with antiques and the owners were elderly. Each room was $100 a night. I wanted to stay at Motel 6 for $30 for one room. Clean, comfortable, two beds. But my goofy sister had money to spend and wanted to try something different. To be fair, the owners were quite nice and really needed the business. But I barely slept a wink, and the breakfast was awkward. The antiques were the entertainment. I was not amused. It was like "Night at the Museum" without Ben Stiller or Robin Williams. Tyler is a great city, though. If you get the chance, visit in the spring. They have a rose festival, and the fragrance pervades the entire town.:)

I would like to say i went to the Towns Inn literally a week ago. I have seen this episode before when i was younger and forgot about it. Fast forward few years later, my mom had made renovations to the inn at WV, still i have forgotten about it. When we finally made to Harper's Ferry during the evening, we found the inn, but were shown papers on the doors, saying it was close for repairs for the roof. But we try to find the entrance, and it was on the 2nd floor balcony side, we knocked on the door and waited for 2 minutes. When the door was open, a woman had us come in to check into one of the rooms, what triggered my memory was who the woman was, i can still remember she looked like one of those little old witches that seems nice but would make u into a pie. She had the same look on when Gordon first arrived. And apparently, the only one who was still working in the inn. I questioned what happened in my head

#1 River Rock Inn ( Paranoid In Pennsylvania ) CLOSED in December 2014. The hotel reopened, reverting back to the Laurel Country Inn with the previous owners. Trip Advisor reviews are mostly positive. River Rock Inn aired on September 03 2012, the episode was filmed in January 2012 and is Hotel Hell season 1 #2 Town's Inn in Harpers Ferry ( The Town's Denial ) OPEN Since Gordons visit, Karan continued with the lease on the house. The staff are helping to make positive changes and Jason has become more involved with the business. Karan has since moved back into the hotel and is living in a room on the second floor. Reviews were mixed since Gordon's visit, more recent reviews on both Trip Advisor and Yelp. Recent Yelp reviews mention a cluttered hotel and out of date product in the store, problems that Gordon encountered on his visit. Their website shows a great contrast between those rooms that have been renovated by the show, those that appear to renovated by the owner and those that have not yet been renovated. Town's Inn aired on June 07 and 14 2016, the episode was filmed in November 2015 and is Hotel Hell season 3 episode 3 and 4. #3 The Monticello Hotel ( The Monticello Intervention ) In January 2014, the lounge and restaurant in the hotel was closed by the owners so they could pursue other endeavours. Reviews since Gordon's visit are mostly mixed on Trip Adviso Although some are disappointed about the closure of the restaurant and lounge. Philip was sentenced to 90 days in prison in July 2016 for threatening a District Court judge. In September 2016, the property was listed both for sale and lease online. It appears that Philip is no longer the owner as of early 2017 and the new owners have recruited new staff. The Cambridge Hotel closed in June 2012 after being placed in foreclosure in the spring and was bought by the bank. Scooter graduated from catering college and was said to be working in a local Italian restaurant. John is now working as at Guantanamo Bay Prison as officer in charge of the Office of Military Commissions. The building was sold at auction for $375,000 and was converted into an assisted living residence. Cambridge Hotel aired on August 20 2012, the episode was filmed in January 2012 and is Hotel Hell season 1 episode 3. #6 Meson De Mesilla ( Meson De Cher ) OPEN Cali kept most of the changes Gordon made but made some minor changes. They reported that business had increased since Gordon visited the hotel Meson De Mesilla was put up for sale in August 2014 for $2.85 million. Cali brought in a 50/50 silent partner for the restaurant part of the business and Trip Advisor and Yelp reviews were average. The hotel was sold in March 2017 and is under new ownership. Robert and Ari reported on their FB page that the phone lines were busy and bookings were up after the show aired. Yelp reviews were mixed after filming highlighting poor levels of staffing and cleanliness issues. Robert commented the below on one review, I also wish to point out that the Gordon Ramsay show "Hotel Hell" in NO WAY reflects on what or who we are as people or as a business. It is easy to create a show out of 300 plus hours of filming and edit it to death to insure that the host and network make great money and top ratings. Restaurant reviews after filming were mostly positive. The Juniper Hill Inn closed after it went into foreclosure with debts of $1.1million in April 2014. They posted on their website that they are no longer in business. Ari was arrested in July 2015 for assaulting a police officer. It was posted on their Facebook Page that their revenue after appearing on the show had nearly doubled. Rina and Vanda sold the hotel in June 2015 are no longer the owners of Calumet Inn. Four months afterwards Brian sacked Ben and employed new kitchen staff. They have implemented a curfew for the live entertainment and he is focusing on the paying guests. They have made further improvements including installing new kitchenettes, a new menu, new patio furniture ;and the garden has been landscaped. There is also a new gift shop selling Navy Seal merchandise. Trip Advisor reviews are mixed and there are still complaints about late night noise from the bar. Yelp reviews are also very negative. I thought the worst one was the guy who bought the school he attended as a kid, which had been converted to an inn. He ran around goofing off, running murder mystery nights, while his wife did all the work. She told Gordon she was happy in her pre-hotel life; that her husband bought the inn without consulting her, and her life subsequently became a hell. They were $1 million in the hole...To top it off, the husband just smiled and chuckled as the wife detailed her misery.

Among the hotels to suffer from bad owners, Monticello is one that stands out. Phillip lost it after multiple additional DUI arrests. The hotel isn't there anymore. Juniper Hill is, but after a foreclosure. And reportedly like Philip Lovingfossils, Ari was arrested as well.

If they're getting tips they clearly deserve it.

Man, I need to start watching this series.

What I loved most about the Keating was not him renovating the hotel or giving its owner a lesson, but rejuvenating the head chef, Brian, and bringing back his love and passion for food.

What about the owner who dressed up as sherlock holmes? He was a complete nut bar and should have been on this list

The TV show shows how they were before he came and how they were when he was there. They didn't show anything about how things were after he left, maybe a week but no more. The owner obsessed with Ferraris changed the room back to the way it originally was, and went back to his old ways.

I wanna visit pa butts lodge. That place look lit a.f.

The Keating hotel is gone back to its old furniture and red reception area. The restaurant is not longer there and the rooms look the same before the makeover. They are also not clean, with hair in the bathtub in the living room.

That Ferrari Keating hotel has reverted back to red

Any time I see Hotel Hell, or The Hotel Inspector (UK show same basic premise less drama & no Gordon), I shake my head and think 🤔 Fawlty Towers is how NOT to run a hotel and these business people use it as a how to training video.

I don't know about the rest of the hotels but the ferrari one reverted back to what it was originally.

However, the Keaton Hotel went back to its old ways after Gordon left. It seemed that Eddie only said those to make Gordon happy, he actually never cared about what Gordon said. Eddie fired the majority of the staff that was featured on the show and the wall was reverted back to the bright red, most of Gordon’s decor was sold and the hotel is still open to this day.

These people are nothing compared to the owner of a motel my husband worked at. I would tell you some stories , there are a million of them, but I would need to write a book to do it justice. All I can say is that I don't even think therapy could help her. Ok I just thought of one I can say. Ice. She would buy in ice and portion it into sandwich bags. She had a fight with a customer one day because he wanted another bag. She says one bag is enough, you can't have two. That is the minuscule tip of the iceberg. The woman is nuts.

I was just about to question how, in every case, the owner/management turned around and did things squirrels away. But then I waited to the last few moments to see that at least one guy was not able to toe the line. I’m guessing that if we went back and looked at most of these places today, they either be back in the same situation all is going out of business I found most of this disgusting and not want to go out to eat or travel.

Phillip looks like Voldemort grew a small bit of hair, got some shoe polisher and shined the top of his head. John and his wife, Tina, look like a basic couple that have 0% experience in anything, but look like government employees. The two sisters look like the typical spoiled brats who dont even know how to live. They look like when they were in middle school, they were the deva girls who were always trying to get the boys. The last dude, Bryan. Looks like the over confident idiot who used to be muscular and hippy, like a surfer. But turnes into a cocky idiot, who looks like a towel boy. He deliveres the towels to the peeps. 😂

The Keating went back to its old ways not long after from what I’ve heard. Everything Gordon changed went back to the way it was before he got there

They reverted all the furnitures and repainted everything in red, and the room was a disgusting mess, Oh and the restaurant was closed, so no room service anymore...

Eddie went back to the red and changed almost everything back. And the restaurant closed, no food service. At least the price went down to 200 dollars a night.
