Gotta love Weavile. He solves the problem most Ice Types fail to address in that he’s a lightning bruising glass cannon instead of Gamefreak attempt to make another sluggish Ice type sponge despite the amount of crippling weaknesses they have. Cool design too.

For ❄️ Ice Type to get a Resistance Advantage, it must have A Type whose Offense is Ineffective and Defense is Weak Against it. Prospects who lacks both Criteria are : 🕊️ Flying becuz of 🪨 and Steel, 🐉 Dragon Becuz of 🗡️, Ground becuz of Bug 🪲, Grass because of 🔥 and Steel. Using Water as a Prime Example for Having An Advantage over Fire 🔥 Because it's stronger than Rock Ground and Fire Which 🔥 is not very effective against but also Helps Deal ineffective Damage to Dragon....... If Ice would have a Resistance Advantage, it would most likely be against Ground because it's stronger than Grass, Flying which Ground 🌎 is not very effective against but ❄️ also Helps Deal ineffective Damage against Bug. In other words, a 🪲 Must Resist The Cold 🥶.

Ice is one of my favorite types alongside Dragon, Fairy, Electric, and Fire to the point I've long imagined that if I lived in the pokemon world I'd eventually open up an Ice type gym that doubles as an Ice Cream parlor after finishing my pokemon journey and make sure to have in city near a battle frontier or something similar to one so I can enjoy useing my other pokemon there possibly as a frontier brain

Even if it's not coming officialy rank as of today, I wanna give special attention to Gen 9's ice whale, Cetitan. The fact that it has two great abilities in Thick Fat and Slush Rush as well as its hulking size makes me think of it as a diet Mamoswine.

I hope his thick fat ability means he gets the same power stats as Mamoswine and his Slush Rush Ability must mean he's another Good Pure Type Like Beartic who can Counter Fighting because they both share this Second Ability.

So glad that Alolan Sandslash is on this list. I actually used it in my playthrough and it help me a lot, especially its ability snow cloak. I get why it's better with snow rush but that's require of being in team battles and having Pokemon like Abomasnow or Alolan Ninetails with snow warning to be useful, but it's risky even to have 2 ice types on the field(but that's just for competitve). I prefer evasiveness rather than speed cause it has a chance for the opponent to miss a move on Sandslash especially when it's holding a brightpower/lax incense to make it harder to hit it. But that's just me for a casual playthrough not competitive.

Even though Ice is arguably the worst defensive type in the franchise, I do like it. It's got some seriously great Pokémon from it, some of them I've used like Froslass, Alolan Ninetales, Lapras, and Weavile to some extent. I've even used Pokémon like Mr. Rime, Jynx, and Walrein to great succession as well. So yeah, the Ice type is pretty good despite its major shortcomings, and this list proves that. I just wished Ice-types were available earlier in the main series more often.

I'm going to riot now. My Weavile not making number 1! In all seriousness, Weavile could tank and even dish back serious damage against Darmanitan. Swords Dance, Brick Break, and either Choice or Expert Belt for huge damage. It already out speeds the finalist. Just see my comment in the Dark Type video to read more.

Froslass has to be my second favorite pokemon tied with Haunter or maybe a close third. Which is saying a lot because I beat my first ever Pokemon game, Blue, with an overleveled Haunter leading my party. On that note I use Froslass a heck of a lot more than Haunter. Might overtake Haunter if things continue this way as Haunter is winning by nostalgia alone. Mismagius best ghost tho. Subjectively of course.

I think the top 10 Ice Types are 10, Vanilluxe 9, Alolan Sandslash 8, Cloyster 7, Froslas 6, Lapras 5, Articzolt 4, Mamoswine 3, Alolan Ninetails 2, Weavile 1, Galarian Darmantan and do either the top 10 Ground or Fairy type next.

2:20　Alolan Sandslash is the 4th Honorable mention of Steel types out of all the non legendary Pokemon videos 3:26　I wanted Froslass which is an honorable mention for Ghost types in the list 5:39　Lapras is the the 5th Honorable Mention for Water types 11:27　Honorable mentions for Ice types I think are Frost Rotom, Beartic, Glalie (Froslass male counterpart), Abomasnow and Avalugg which were in the Top ten Ice types with Legendary Pokemon. This time Rock type Pokemon please because I have a feeling that Tyranitar might not be in the Top ten non legendary Rock type List. And after Rock you can do Ground types.

If I were to make the ice type a better defensive type, I'd give it resistances to bug, grass, flying, and poison. Not really a significant boost since those aren't the most common types. But its still something

Alolan Sandslash has potential when evading his Double Weakness with Bright Powder Item + Snow Cloak Ability and Sand Attack + Agility Sweep. - Vanilluxe, Froslass, and Alolan Ninetales will crumble with a Steel ⚔️ Slash. - Weavile obviously can't 👊 that's why it scratches. - Frozen Mamoswine's Ground Type helped his fear of 🔥 but now he's scared of 🌊 drowning.

The Weavile part aged... In a way I don't want to talk about... Alolan Ninetales is still amazing though! At least my favorite Pokémon is still good. I just feel bad about one of the historically best Ice types getting its life ruined by a movepool nerf and a Pokémon that's a direct upgrade from it.

I really don't know much about Pokemon the game. I grew up watching the cartoon in the late 90's early 2000's. I've always loved ice powers. Ice-man has always been my favorite and I love all ice power characters. Mr Freeze, Captain Cold, Sub-Zero, Iceman from Mega Man, Heck even Elsa from frozen lol. Surprised I didn't see Glaceon or Articuno, my two favorites. But maybe they suck in the game.

Lets see which Pokemon sould I expect just to compate it to reality. Mamoswine, Weevile, Cloyster, Obamasnow, Alolan Ninetail, maybe Amagarga cause it has the Hail Ability as well... Maybe Jynx for Gen 1, but shes kinda irrelevant nowadays...

So Frostbite needs to become permanent. A Special equivalent to Burn would IMMENSELY benefit the Ice type. Also Ice and Water should both resist each other but changes in weather. In Sun/Rain*, Water is Super Effective against Ice but in Hail/Sandstorm*, Ice is Super Effective against Water. (* this can be rearranged or removed all together tbh as Water and Sand exist in cold temperatures and Water is weak in Sunlight so maybe not lol) Honestly I would keep the exact top 10 but rearrange 1. Darmanitan 2. Weavile 3. Ninetales 4. Mamoswine 5. Froslass 6. Arctozolt 7. Cloyster 8. Lapras 9. Vaniluxe 10. Sandslash I honestly thought Rotom-Refrigerator would make the list but I forgot the monstrosity fossil was Ice types lol

Yeah Frostbite replacing Freeze. And anything with a chance to freeze will have double the chances to Frostbite So moves with 10% chance to Freeze will have 20% chance to Frostbite instead Frostbite would be like Burn but like you said, reduces Sp Atk instead of Atk. Then add a status move that guarantees Frostbite so basically an Ice Version of Will o Wisp. I would name it Cold Snap.

The fact Jynx isn't on this list is insulting as hell. Gen 1 & 2 OU viable, still great in gen 3 & 4, RU titan in 5 & 6 (iirc), and only knocked out of the limelight in Gen 7 competitively, but still being obtainable early in those games to help your whole playthrough? Plus she can OHKO most of these mons with a focus blast and outspeeds most of them. Easily one of the top 10 ice types, period.

Surprisingly, there are only 10 good Ice types, and Froslass is literally only good as a hazard stacker. Now that heavy-duty boots exist, the entire Snorunt line sucks. Also, isn’t Vanilluxe only consistently good in VGC as the only Blizzard spammer if you need a Blizzard spammer?

@@Mysticgames136 in rand bats it’s solid but nothing the write home about the coverage is very nice tho,however in smogon it’s attack power is way too low, weaker swift swimmers are usable because they constantly have rain with them to boost their damage and speed so they have the ability to run specs or band to become offensive juggernauts, but lapras don’t got swift swim or good natural speed so if you run specs, it’s solid but still just ok, but that leaves you wide open to something like glastier that can just take a hit and slaughter with cc

I disagree with Alolan Sandslash as being part of the list, honestly. The reason why is cause I feel it's dual type hinders it terribly and screws it over badly. If you think it's one of the best, that's fine. It's your opinion.
