Top 10 STRONGEST Rock Type Pokemon | NO LEGENDARIES 

Rock is an interesting type for me. It's a type I don't use a lot, but when I do, I find myself liking it a lot. And it makes me happy to see some Pokémon I've used from this typing show up here like Tyranitar, Lycanroc, and Tyrantrum, the last one being my favorite Rock-type.

Tyranitar is a beast with sand stream. He is one of my all time favorites.

No Aggron I find very surprising unless you popped it on the steel list and didn't want to repeat it

Rock is my least favorite type, but I do love Tyranitar. Even though I use it more as Dark type.

Tyranitar with weakness policy is a big threat.

Personally if I was making this same list Shuckle would be atleast top 10. I understand why somebody wouldn't because its more situational but its potency as a Suicide Lead is fantastic in metagames that appreciate its Sticky Web and Stealth Rock combination. Such metagames would be Anything Goes most notably in Gen 7 and 8 where its one of the premire teamstyles, as well as Gen 6 OU where its pretty decent.

I love vids like this, because lately i like looking to make teams of each type, like i was an elite 4 member, gym leader, or champion

Mystic have you ever considered doing a Pokémon analysis? You do the strongest videos all the time but something like "this Pokémon is a phys attacker, this Pokémon is defensive” doing every Pokémon would be great lol.

Sad you did not mention carracosta but there are many rock water type fossil Pokemon so yeah shell smash is a best move for them.

My strongest lists for each type, I don't do any repeats, cause for me I feel that's unfair for some really good Pokemon of any types. So I put each Pokemon in one of the types it has, if it's got a dual type.

Almost half the list were fossils, but this ranking was another good one. But man, imagine going through a casual Pokemon run with Pokemon of certain typings, using these ranking videos as a basis. Sounds neat, in theory.

Kabutops with Leech Life handles its 4x weakness to Grass quite well since I believe Leech Life is an 80 base power move. It can also learn another strong bug move X-Scissor, and even Ice attacks like Ice Beam and Blizzard to counterits Ground Weakness. It can also Learn Dig countering it's weakness to Electric, and Aerial Ace countering Fighting-types. Pretty solid pokemon.

I've been getting a lot of use from swift swim Dreadnaw recently. Problem is that I've tested it with and without gmax and both attacks are so equally useful that it's hard to decide which to put in a team.

I've played through Ultra Sun more than any other Pokemon game. I've put Tyranitar on my team for more than half of my playthroughs because it has been one of the best Pokemon to go up against Ultra Necrozma. Tyranitar is so tanky, Ultra Necrozma needs two hits to take Tyranitar out (if the hit is not critical). And Tyranitar is so powerful, he can beat Ultra Necrozma in two hits. However, I do need to revive him once to get the second hit off, but his sand stream ability just about guarantees a knockout after that second hit

Good thing about rock typing is added with other typing it became monstrous specially the fossil mons. And i love specially the fossil Pokemons

I myself love Cradily. Good coverage. Has moves to cover for its new weaknesses Rock weak to water/ground? Seed Bomb Grass weak to bug/flying? Stone Edge Neutral hits from Fire, hit back with Rock moves Rock shatters Ice, resists poison

The next list should be top 10 rock types without legendaries and without fossils XD wonder how that will look

After Ground, I want to see Normal types because I have a feeling that Obstagoon might not appear in the normal list so I want to know what regional rodent pokemon will be in the list.

With all the pokemon now I'm sad my favorite gen 2 Pokemon was in there. That is Shuckle. He's such a tank and loving pokemon to make battles last forever. Loved having a pokemon with 200defense and 202 special defensive by level 40 something.

Hopefully, we get a best tema no restrictions completion with RBY, HGSS, B2W2, USUM and Let's Go games.

A swift swimmer like kabutops is far more dangerous than most other pokemon above him. Its a popular rain pokemon in higher tiers. Especially in doubles its stab rock slide from bliztering speed was a big threat. Tyrantrum or lycanroc are laughable in comparison

Aerodactyl also have a broken ability in TGC that doesn’t allow your opponent to evolve

My 2nd favorite Rock type is Archeops and it's obvious why it isnt in this list bcs of defeatist, and boy if it doesnt have Defeatist how OP it is

I’ve thrown an assault vest on my Rhyperior in the past. That thing becomes damn near unkillable with that massive Sp Def boost

I think that the top 10 Rock types are 10, Kabutops 9, Omastar 8, Tyrantrum 7, Barbaracle 6, Gigaith 5, Aerodactyl 4, Lycanroc Dusk form 3, Rhyperior 2, Coalossel 1, Tyranatar.

I think Regirock is pretty underrated it has a high base 200 defense while still having a lower but still decent special defense at base 100 but with alot of room for buff in that area. Regirock has more setup potential to be a wall both in defense and special defense more than Regice being the reverse and even Registeel having more balanced defenses off the bat with a typing that has more resistances. Granted steel has more resistances, rock has alot more flexibility and having alot of weaknesses usually doesn't bother a rock type, especially a bulky one. With Regirock you can have an ev spread of 252 HP and 252 into it's SpDef since it is lower than it's physical defense. It's physical defense is already naturally high at base 200 without Ev investment. So anyways with that Ev spread perhaps running a sassy nature with buffs special defense and lowers speed If I'm no mistaken. With that spread in doubles run a moveset of Iron Defense to have an option to buff it's physical defense even more to make up for no ev investment into that while still being naturally high and iron defense will be more than enough to make it a wall in physical defense, Body press which is a move that does more damage with higher defense, Stealth rock, and protect. Makes it a wall set that sets up rocks and can get off some damage with body press preferably in doubles and have its partner be either a Tyranitar, Hipowdon, Gigalith or any mon with sandstream ability that automatically sets up sandstorms. This is the beauty of rock types automatically getting a 50% buff to special defense in sandstorm, and along with 252 evs investmented into it and a beneficial nature will more than buff up it's special defense to make Regirock a wall on both defenses while being a pain to take out. Also you can run and all offensive set and give an assault vest as well

I knew Tyrantrum, Gigalith, Aerodactyl, Rhyperior, Coalossal (due to Steam Engine) and Tyranitar will be in the list, yet I rather expect Midnight instead of Dusk. Honorable mentions I think are Shuckle, Cradily, Golem, Armaldo which is another Swift Swim user and Aggron with high defense stats
