you absolutely forgot the most annoying mistake: -double clicking your entire villagers accidentally and send them all to do something!

You forgot to mention one in both videos: Trade carts getting stuck in huge traffic messes between a couple buildings, or worst yet: Them getting bad unit pathing and deciding the best trade route is through an ongoing battle in front of your ally's base.

You forgot when lumberjacks cut down stupidly far away trees

To people that say you should _always_ grind out a game until you're finally defeated by losing all buildings and units because that's the "honourable" thing to do, I have a few thoughts on that: While it might be honourable, in a personal sense, to hold out to your last breath, isn't part of being a good leader knowing you should end a losing war before every single citizen in your country is dead? It's not really your own life you're throwing away - it's everybody else's because you don't want to be seen as weak. In a real-life situation, is it actually considered honourable to throw away your citizens' lives for your public appearance's sake? Taking a step back from the realism, some players also find it disrespectful when another person holds out on resigning well after the competition of the game is long gone (not always, as I pointed out, and friends might enjoy this stage). Sometimes those towered up island games, where one player might no longer have a way to legitimately win or ever launch another offensive, turn into a battle of whose time is the least valuable, and the "loser" is whomever has something they have to do that day. Kind of a hollow victory, no? - "I win! My time is the least valuable! Woot! Really earned those elo points today." :) The problem is the side that has almost lost but won't resign isn't just making the decision for themselves - they're also forcing the other player to stay, despite the fact they've already earned a victory, which is the part that's "disrespectful" in some people's eyes. Personally, if I only had an hour to play, I'd rather spend it on 2 competitive games than 1 game that was competitive for the first half, and then grinding out a slow defeat/victory for the second half, and I'd rather the other player not force that decision on me. This is rarely an issue, but I just wanted to express that sentiment. Wow, that was a long post, but considering the target audience, I think it's kind of appropriate in length :)

I won a game because of number 4 once. I sent my last villagers to kill their trebuchets firing on my wonder and their onagers killed their trebuchets.

How about when you build barracks right up next to a tree line, so stupid soldiers decide to gather in the freakin tree line behind where you want them to gather? That's annoying as heck.

When enemy villagers build something and your units all automatically attack the scaffolding instead of the villager. You have to micro them to every and each builder villager.

I really hate getting my trebuchets sniped by freaking bombard cannons.

another super mega ultri annoying thing: you are in the dark age and have enough vils to go feudal so you force drop all the food that your vils have gathered and then.... 499 food FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- and another thing that may or may not be uncluded cause if you are awesome you can prevent it from happening: when a turk player does nothing all game and suddenly shows up on your doorstep with 40 bombards and 60 janissaries like "excuse me sir? have you accepted chemistery as your lord and saviour? no? ok please stand by while we destroy your entire town in 10 seconds"

This game played such a huge role in my childhood. I remember how comfy it felt to just replay the tutorial campaign, occasionally "explore" new things in the more advanced campaigns, mess around nonstop in the map editor, and trying to build "aesthetically pleasing" villages/towns, being pissed because I couldn't build any of the cosmetic things from the map editor such as roads, bridges, yurts, flags and so on. Spent so much time drawing things from this game as well - for some reason I absolutely loved the Briton template of feudal age buildings. Something about those thatched roof houses was SO comfy and pleasing. I'm super surprised to have found this channel and found out the game is actually REALLY alive and well, and there are a shitton of expansions and new civs I've totally missed out on by now.

Most annoying thing is when your power cuts out in the middle of a game because someone decided to use the microwave when the dishwasher, clothes washer, and dryer are all on...

I usually put down a tower on that empty patch next to the mill...it seems appropiate place for a tower to be there.

one of the things you've missed: When you select your army of cavalry, to get really fast somewhere else, and you don't notice you selected also 1 monk, who slows down the whole group.

What about teammates who resign too early? I'm not particularly good and competitive at this game so I often play with

The things that annoy me the most are actually almost all connected to the AI... 1. Allied AI building in your base. Preferably putting down a military building right in front of your gate, so all units have to pass along sides singlefile. Always fun, especially on Dark Forest in those beautiful chokepoints where you still want your cavalry to get through against enemy siege. 2. Allied AI riding a sole Scout/Hussar through your gate right as the enemy attacks while you are still busy elsewhere. And you can't even execute the traitor! (Unless you have an onager right at the spot) 3. Allied AI Ressource Stealing... was highest on my list years ago, but you have mentioned it in the video and I've just started to steal right back and burn down their monasteries for any sweet relics they gobbled up. 4. Also a lot of fun: Ally hacking down a piece of forest you left there to save on walls.

When you're allied with the AI and they build loads of buildings in your territory

'Finicky L-shaped walls' L shaped walls are better because none of the walls are diagonals. Diagonal walls still have square hitboxes, and therefore they are more vulnerable because more melee units can attack one at the same time, because there's more room. Also, diagonal walls allow units to attack others that are behind the wall, if they are in the corner between 2 wall hitboxes.

That farm thing completely transformed me into a giggling ball for a couple of minutes. I was seeing how you placed the farms and was like "wow, amazing!", mouth standing open. Then seeing that stick figure guy and a second later having his head blown away, making me realise I would have been looking exactly the same way he did, made me burst for laughter :D

Kiting a boar back to your TC and then losing aggro and it goes back to where it was with too low HP to kite it back again.

False ratings on games to lure in those who aren't as fast as the pros just for some cheap kills.

You can select 60 units in HD. Not sure why they didn't just remove the limit completely.

I hate when the farmers don't replant the farms themselves, when the enemy hit and run me and when my ally has soooooo much free land but decide to build stuff right next to mine and causing me to have no free space and everyone just bunches together and gets stuck >: ( But it's no big deal :P Great video

It could only be an Age of Empires I Monk that knew the secret... Granaries(mills) were the same size as farms back then if I remember correctly!

When you enemy is attacking you and you forgot to lovk your gate and that one soilder opens it and lets them all on your base

The reason why there is a gap in front of the mill: It is a drying floor. Crops must be spread and let dry in the sun before putting crops into storage. Many ancient civilzations did that before machine dryer was invented.

A similar thing to the high rated players in low matches is when people join "noob only games" and they do nothing but critizise your play and say you are a noob.. like, really guys? -.-

Just a thing that I don't see on your lists - when the enemy delete his last unit or town center, robbing you of the pleasure. Like when you're chasing the last villager and your cavalry is closing on on the villager and your opponent deletes it. Yeah....

THE FACT THAT A GROUP OF VILLAGERS WILL MOVE SCATTERING AROUND ANYWHERE THEY WANT TO (MOSTLY ACROSS ENEMY CITIES AND CASTLES) INSTEAD OF MARCHING IN A LINE JUST LIKE MILITARY

I hate when my allies build buildings inside my fortress. So always lock your fortress gate .😁

One of my pet peeves is when the map generates resources in awkward places. For instance, there might be some gold mines or berry bushes partly or mostly surrounded by trees. You have to cut down the trees to make full use of the resources, but then you have villager overcrowding. One time I played on a map with cliffs, and one of the relics was inaccessible because it was surrounded by cliffs on all sides. No relic win for me!

Sending a monk all the way across the map for a relic that is grabbed by someone else 10 seconds before he gets there

I'd say enemy mangonels surviving with one health XD

When the ai builds a building next to your town center so you can't build farms😡

After building a badass wall with towers, castle and troops defending them but you forget to lock the gate and that one unit opens it allowing a river of cavaliers and rams to freely enter your area

you forgot about those moments when you get a YOU'RE UNDER ATTACK message screamed in your ears, but it's just a random wolf attacking your WHOLE FUCKING ARMY, ALL ATTACKING THAT SINGLE WOLF

hahaha, i just watch the other one a few days ago, but i have to say this one is much better, considering too many of the other points were parts of the game balance like trebuchets. Keep up the good work, we all love you. You make me want to be a better person, you give my life meaning, i want you inside me! all of you! call me ;)

Another pet peeve is when playing with a computer AI ally, that the ally doesn't delete lumber and mining camps that are no longer needed, but which clearly obstruct the paths of trade carts.

*DESERTERS*!!! I can forgive onagers for the friendly fire or blame myself instead when builders constructed the first dock in a pond with no fish but I cannot forgive _deserters_. Almost the entire army leaving the battlefield only to chase after a single scout back to my own base while the opponents are having field day butchering my monks, siege weapons and forward villagers. I cannot spam new units because of population limit while the deserters have gone on a vacation in the forest, the shore, the mountain or impregnating farmgirls under a towncentre. That's deserting the cause of the amazing game. That's treason, most disgusting, unbecoming of soldiers sworn to protect the kingdom, punishable by death in a mass execution, quartered-hanged-drawn in that order, press delete and then press GG.

Fishing ships randomly deciding to idle while there are tons of fish visible on the minimap. When a damaged boar gets blocked by something and wanders back to where it originally was forcing you to lure it again.

I played with my dad when i was young. My dad tend to get the front position and get hit up by Hardest AI immidietly, so he often pull back to my back(im second the most front) and rebuild an entire civilization again.

When your cat jumps up and treads on the delete key when you have a lot of units selected.

Sometimes I lay wall foundations incorrectly (eg when it goes L shaped) but can't select some of the foundations to delete because they're behind taller buildings. This especially happens when I accidentally drop a gate in front of a wall instead of on it.

Spirit Of The Law: I think originally the mills were 3x3 squares, as you can see in the intro video for AoE Age of Kings that plays when you play the first William of Wallace campaign, but it was changed to 2x2 squares when the game was released :)

And what about onagers killing archers?I remember sending 30 longbowmen to a raid and they were all killed in one onager shot.

Quality of life improvements that were made in Age of Mythology, and you'd think would be perfect to include in an HD rerelease of Age of Empires II... but they weren't. Including: 1. The ability to queue research. 2. Hover over resource icons to see how many villagers are assigned to gathering each. 3. Numbers for stacked units instead of a long list of icons (select a bunch of units in AoE2, "how many are here? One, two, three, four.......") There are probably more that I can't remember.

With the Mill size issue and farms i actually use that small gap to fit 1 - 2 towers, so whenever an assault to the village/city is coming, the famers have something to fend off and give them more survivability

Number #2 is nostalgic. There used to be a game I'd play where you could build things behind trees to hide them, so I'd just find the least noticeable tree and build a tiny generator behind it. Even if I got completely destroyed, the tiny generator would still hold my game and I could just go afk until the guy either destroyed all the trees in the map or gave up. It was an incredibly ass thing to do, and I wouldn't do it again, but damn I'd be lying if I didn't say shit like that and 4:44 isn't in at least some way funny.

There's a hilarious thing in conquerors, it's when you play against the AI and then place a castle next to it's walls and then destroy them, the AI's villagers go die trying to rebuild the walls. And then the AI loses and pops the message saying that he or she quits because villagers were so dumb they didn't rebuild walls.

The extra space from the mill is for a watchtower or 2. Then surround it with a palisade wall for extra defense. just don't try to build it all at once or the villagers will start farming after one tile of wall.

In your original list, you listed "losing to a Wonder when you would have otherwise won" as a thing we hate... same on the reverse end: when you are JUST about to win with a Wonder, only a minute or so left on the clock - and then it gets destroyed at the last second. No joke, that once happened to me during a match against my brother back in the day - my first and fiercest ragequit ever.

When you are having an absolute ball just duking it out with multiple AI and all of a sudden they pop cap themselves with ships on a land map

On an FFA, there was a player that lost really quick and then hid in the corners. For the rest of the game, he clicked flares all across the map which made it so you can't hear the game because of the noise, but even worse, you couldn't use the mini map because it was covered in X's.

That verse at 1:00 XD!! That was SO needed!
