It wasn't just the fake quote, there were more problems behind the scenes. Eccelston said only recently after staying pretty quiet for years that the main reason was his relationship and trust with RTD and the producers "completely broke down" during filming.

I couldn't give a dam about the film series, it needs to end, it's been so overdone, I mean you've seen 3 you've seen them all. So much for the British TV series killing themselves at that 4/5 season mark, whilst us tv goes on forever to it's a husk of its former self, didn't seem to apply here. I couldn't care what the character looks like unless it's an it's part or historical figure. But telling me you NEED to have representation or whatever cap they get tell you is b/s, I hate them forcing some shirt to be done way, I mean I just heard about m&m's changing their mascots because they're too offensive, they're ducking cartons for Pete sake (I don't buy them, but it's not something to stop me from it, it's just very stupid & a waste of money on marketing that'll push the price up).
