Great info! Some other things that are noteworthy if you’re modeling cabinetry, and if you are you’re most likely using Layout. Here goes: - Most cabinet design software, designers, installers and fabricators require HIDDEN LINE (Like Planet Vision, 2020, AutoCAD etc..) - Keep it simple: most current trend doors are shaker with an inside beveled edge inside rail detail. Raised and curved panels are out, for now, give it five years… - Use very basic handle and knob hardware in your models drawings and just note what brand and style on the sales proposal. This decision can change along with door style many times as a project evolves. Keep it simple focus on the overall design. - Stay away from the SketchUp Warehouse and model your own. These warehouse models can get polygonal heavy and eventually you’ll feel the difference in your model and in LO. - Don’t create massive libraries of multiple cabinets to drag and drop. B09, B10, B11, B12, B13, B12 - through B42 etc. Just create one 12” wall and base cabinet variation with a FHD, B1D12, 3DB12 etc And use FredoStretch to create larger cabinets. Thank me later. - Stay away from cabinet maker extensions. They are usually dynamic components and are way too heavy polygonally and data wise (too many menus). Ive purchased them, used them, waste of time. Build your own libraries! - Modeling for Layout vs modeling for VRay are completely different animals / applications. Consider both when modeling. Try to find a balance between low poly and VRay ready ;) - Create a layering system for Layout. You will want to turn on and off different layers in the Floorpan and Elevation views in LO. See below.. - Remember SU and AutoCAD use completely different layering systems. ALL POLYS go on LAYER 0 in SU. Yep, always learn something, thanks. Speaking of which, how did you rotate and move BOTH cabinet handles at the same time at marker 6:43?!? I only know how to rotate/move one object at a time. :(
