Most programs are for native speakers, so you’ll either need to get a student visa and teach part-time in academies or find a school that is willing to sponsor your visa. It’s challenging to get EU working rights even for native speakers unfortunately.

Hey there, thank you for providing such a wonderful information. I would like to ask if Indian teachers have any possibility to teach English abroad. Please tell me know ASAP. Thank you ❤
@ESLTeacher365

Yes 🙂 You can apply through the Auxiliares de Conversacion Program. There are some extra requirements for Indian teachers like taking the English exam IELTS and the Spanish exam DELE, but it’s possible. Just Google Auxiliares de Conversacion India for the details 🇮🇳

Thank you so much for your explanations. I have a small question: I am a Moroccan English professor with a PhD. Could I teach in Spain? Would the PhD open up opportunities for me?

You can get a student visa to study Spanish at a Cervantes approved institution. Then you can apply to teaching jobs up to 30 hours per week. Look into insurance for your student visa like Swisscare. Unfortunately, you may experience discrimination in Spain. It depends on where you are teaching.

@ESLTeacher365

You can teach science in international schools if you are a certified teacher. You can go through agencies like Search Associates, TES, Schrole, etc. contracts are usually 2 years.

I have been watching your videos for quite some time now. I am currently looking to work in Spain. I am a native English speaker from the United States. While some might think this is a good thing, I have found there are some definite drawbacks, and was hoping you could shed some light. The first is that when it comes to being from the US, Canada, or England, I have found that it is not as simple to find a job as these are non-EU countries and unless a school or business can prove they cannot find someone already in country then they cannot support a visa or do not want to pay the cost. The second is age when it comes to the auxiliaries programs. The cutoff is 59 years of age. Unfortunately this takes me out of both of these. Can you recommend or do a video for those of us who are specifically challenged? I am currently looking at Franklin (based on your video) and I have a meeting with them, but I was wondering if you had any other suggestions.

Unless you have a US teaching certificate, you are unlikely to get a sponsored work visa. As for the age, the 60 limit is a visa restriction, it’s not actually related to the job. Age will be your biggest struggle, so I recommend looking at countries without age restrictions.

I am an ESL teacher from Egypt and I did the TESOL. I studied in England and I was an exchange teacher in U.S. what program do you recommend me to work as an esl teacher in Spain?
@ESLTeacher365

Unfortunately because of your passport, you are more limited. You can try BEDA or get a student visa with work permission.

Are there age restrictions for the program you did? What’s the visa process like?
@ESLTeacher365
@ESLTeacher365 5 месяцев назад
60 is the limit for NALCAP. For the visa you need to use a letter you get from your school to request a student visa at your local embassy/consulate. Then you request a long-term student visa/residency card once you arrive in Spain.

Did you find teaching in Spain to be lucrative? I'm hoping to teach somewhere where I'm able to pocket a little bit of money to contribute to some future travels.
@ESLTeacher365

Teaching in Europe in general you will break even since you don’t get benefits like housing, flight reimbursements, or bonuses like in Asia. That being said, if you do a language assistant program, you are only teaching 4 days a week sometimes which means you can teach privately to earn some savings. Also, the cost of living is going up but payment hasn’t increased.

@ESLTeacher365

Some programs place you in private schools, so it depends on the program requirements. Otherwise you’ll either need to have EU working rights or be a certified teacher who qualifies for a sponsored work visa.

@ESLTeacher365
@ESLTeacher365 8 месяцев назад
There’s not a lot of information available on how to do this, but my best guess is you would need a master’s or PhD, to go through the process to have it recognized in Spain and have EU working rights (or find a school willing to sponsor you)

Unfortunately you don’t qualify for language assistant programs. Your best option is to get a student visa with working rights and teach in academies up to 30 hours per week. You’ll need to take an official English exam like IELTS to prove your English level, have a quality TEFL certificate and get your student visa either a Cervantes approved institution.

Thanks for such an informative video! I am an American looking to teach in Spain, but I don't have a Bachelor's degree. Is it still possible to teach English in Spain with only a TEFL Level 5 certificate? I haven't seen any ways.
@ESLTeacher365
@ESLTeacher365 8 месяцев назад
You would have to get a student visa to study at a Cervantes approved Spanish school and then can get working rights for up to 30 hours per week at language academies. You would have to pay for the visa and find your own job which makes this route more challenging.

@@Kamal_thind88 If you have EU working rights, then google English language academies and private schools in your city. You will most likely need to prove a C1 or C2 level of English if you are a non-native and will want to have a degree and TEFL certificate.
