David, You are right! The bigger the claim, the bigger my smile. lol. I really do like it when the big claims are accurate. There are some really amazing products out there and I enjoy finding them. Happy holidays!
My name is Bob Onysko and, for 25 years, I was Global Director of Quality for American Tourister and Samsonite luggage. As such, I developed many ways to test the durability of both luggage components and each piece of luggage as a unit. The reason for this comment is to commend your methods and resourcefulness in testing consumer products. I never tire of watching your videos. I've been retired now for about twenty years but your videos bring my memories back to my lab where my testing took place. Bravo to you and keep up the great analyzes.
My Samsonite suitcase which I bought in a PX in 1966 was damaged on the flight back from Vietnam.. Both hinges were broken. Looked like it must have been on the bottom of the stack laid horizontally in the container. After that I always bought soft or soft-sided luggage.
Ha! I just clicked the link in the description for the Renegade Blade. Wanna guess what the items were in Amazon's "Customers who viewed this item also viewed" list? Yep! Every item that Todd presented in this video! Not surprised, though. :)
Agreed , I’m not even a handy guy at all lol and I love his presentations and tests . One day when I’am handy this channel will save me lots of money and lots of time :)
@@ProjectFarm thank you for doing what you do on this channel. I consider your above-and-beyond effort put into these as no less than a public service for all. You've found/created yourself a niche that other "review" channels were too lazy to even know existed. Sincerely...thank you for this invaluable testing and method.
@@adrianblizzard6436 Exactly! I live in a village, so Im used to tools etc. Yet this is very helpful and informative. And to see him test some stuff for over a year shows how much he puts into his videos.
If youtube gave out awards, this channel would definitely get my vote for the most honest, useful, and helpful reviews for DIYers and professionals. Thank you Todd, You Are Awesome!
@@ProjectFarm make sure to include the Klein 9125 tape, the cheaper model is junk, the 9125 seems to be pretty decent, Also check for durability long term standout, many tape measure manufacturers have started thinning the blades, but arching them to lie about standout and after just a few days, lose the arch and standout goes to absolute crap
it all started with wanting to know what drywall hangers to use... these videos are amazing and I love the length you go for testing. Thank you so much for your time and sharing with everyone!
@@ProjectFarm Perhaps a "Loge-de-Guyon syndrome", which likely happens after very long bicycle rides, long crutch use or work-related stress on the hand. Of course there could be other reasons (carpal-tunnel syndrome etc.). This one would have a numbness of half of the palm, little finger, ringfinger and loss of muscular grip force (distal N. ulnaris area) .
@@ProjectFarm Todd its called age. You look like you're in your late 30s to early 40s. I'm in my late 40s and even simple stuff like getting off the ground after working on my car is ruff.
I'm under a car for a few hours a week, so when Harbor freight had a recall on it's jack stands I started to question if my stands were safe. Please test some jack stands for us shade tree mechanics.
I’ve just doubled up instead, but I never trusted those things much anyways and always try to keep the Jack under too if it won’t get in the way (sometimes I just use the Jack and hope no leak finds my way)
@@aterack833 never under any circumstances should you souley relying on just the jack! Take the few min or two to put stand underneath! It could be difference of life or death!
I knew two people who died from their hydraulic jacks slowly leaking down and pinning them under a vehicle. Don’t do it! Always have something solid under there as a backup if the jack starts to leak down.
HPC tested some of them. They are not as thorough as PF but still interesting results. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GjmXQNhKCks.html
I initially disliked it because I saw he recommends here items not found best on price-quality in his detailed videos. But then after couple of minutes of thinking I realized it is called "TOP 2020", not "best price-quality", so the video stands to its name!
you make such a great job that i've decided to comment yt video for the 1st time in my life. Thanks to people like you this world moves forward. I've subscribed immediately
@@ProjectFarm - Might check BigClivedotcom - he reviewed a couple of phones with infrared cameras. Those would probably be good starting points for durability - and you'll have a couple of spare infrared sensors.
WOW!!! Your testing procedures are just so exhaustive......you're the definition of awesomeness!!!! Thanx for all you do to educate and inform the rest of us!!!!
Would it be possible to get a “worst of” video, particularly highlighting products that are dangerous or fatally flawed? It would be a nice compliment to this “best of”
I work at a water plant, and we used the Milwaukee Fuel Impact Driver to remove large bolts holding in a blow off valve that had lived under water that hadn't been moved since 1972 when it was installed. It's a beast.
I was surprised at just how many I had seen, but it's good to have a recap of the best triumphs throughout the year. Especially when the odd tool performed so much better than its competition. The Milwaukee driver as an example, was miles above the competition and buying anything else would be a false economy. With most there's a sliding scale of cost to performance so they win but don't really stand out. Having all the superstars in one video is a nod to their manufacturers. I get a real sense of a tools actual value from these videos, rather than what the blurb on the box says, or what the shills online say. After being tested by this man you know which brands are going to hold up over time, in some cases no matter how hard you work them!
@@RolandElliottFirstG I'm aware of some limited testing from This Old Tony when he used his automatic filing machine, but if you could elaborate it would be helpful.
Love the recap! Try to squeeze in concrete drill bits for 2021 if possible! I've always found the Bosch brand beats nearly anything at the big box stores. Happy New Year!
And i repeat, project farn is the best when it comes to tool reviews, thanks for so much effort and your time to bring us the most honest and fair reviews saving us tons of money well invested 👌
Sir, you ARE a class act!!! I cant believe amount of involvement (Time, money, thought, energy) you had been putting into those. My hat goes off to you 10x!!!
Could you possibly test work pants? The ones made for construction work with knee pads, extra pockets and the mechanic style also. Durability, stain removal, material, comfort and utility. Thanks for the great channel and have a Happy New Year.
Your videos videos aren't just helpful *they are LITERALLY saving lives!* Those videos you did on windshield wipers really paid off and saved my butt! As I got a pair of Bosch ICONs and literally only a couple days later I had to drive to my mom's place on Christmas Eve in the middle of night and there was a massive storm but I could see perfectly fine thanks to them! So thank you for helping me to make an educated purchase as they allowed me to safely get where I was going! I'd also really appreciate it if you could do comparison videos of hydrophobic windshield/mirror coatings, anti-fog window/mirror coatings, windshield wiper fluids, etc! It'd also be nice to know if and how the windshield wiper fluids affect hydrophobic coatings. Oh and comparisons on all season tires would be great as well!
Do they still make Lan-O-Lin hand cleaner? I used to use that stuff back in 1963, after working on engines. Sure cut through the grease, but felt like petroleum jelly!
Baking soda is great, as alkaline substances help break down the grease/oil. A little Dawn Blue and some baking soda works pretty darn well. Although I like to use orange smelling goop with pumice in it too.
Man, do you know why I love this channel so much? Because I saw someone in the comments recommend almost every single one of those video a few weeks or months before they came out. The fact that you actually give a crap what we think and want to see means so much. Everybody talks a big game about how much they care about their subscribers, but you actually back it up. Your videos are invaluable to the consumer; you are the John Stossel of consumer product testing. I love -toys- tools, but I never thought I would care enough to sit down and watch 20-30 minute videos about which drill bit sharpener was the best.
I skip through many videos of this type but often end up watching Todd's vids twice or more. They are jam-packed with useful information from start to finish. The tests are objective as can be outside of a lab. And the delivery, setups, editing and research all add up to pure genius.
Man i really went just bought the Milwaukee m18 fuel impact driver in this video. I don't know of any other channel that does this much thorough testing and consistent testing. I have ridgid tool and it looks like home depot might stop selling them soon as they are pushing Milwaukee instead of ridgid. Just bought the pack out 199.99 with 2 3ah batteries Going to start my switch over to Milwaukee as they have allot more tools in their arsenal.
They aren't getting rid of Ridgid any time soon. I'm a happy Ridgid Octane user, but I've also bought everything on sale/clearance. I wouldn't give TTI full price for these tools. But the LSA is pretty sweet. Yes they aren't Milwaukee, and sometimes I need more power. But I paid like half the money. For 12v shit, I'm Milwaukee only. There's no question for 12v. 18/20v you can brand war if you're bored.
you know its a good system when your shoulder crack and the screwdriver shaft starts slipping in the handle before the screw even thinks about cam out .
@@Francois_Dupont Phillips bits were designed with cam out in mind to limit torque. It was an easy way of letting people with low skill assemble items and not over torque the screws. So sometimes cam out is actually desirable.
With this being the Project Farm, most of the people viewing this probably have a shop dog or farm dog. As a disabled Veteran, I have a service dog. Now, to my point, when are you going to test the indestructible dog toys? We need to keep our puppers occupied while we use these awesome tools and cleaners you test out. I have a 3 year old black lab/shepard who destroys every toy he gets. Please find one that will keep Banjo happy. Here's to a New Year and many more amazing videos.
My Rottweiler "Ziggy" can go through a cow's hip bone (raw) in about 15 minutes. But a rubber toy that looks a lot like my hand she hasn't damaged much. I think she thinks it's mine!
@@Darkcruzer23 im looking more for chew toys. Banjo uses tennis balls and Frisbees outside to play. Need something for when im working and can't supervise him.
This is purely excellent. I'd love to see more of these types of reviews as well as your normal stuff. Knowing what you personally find to be of good quality and worth the price is definitely a big plus. Your devotion to fair and unbiased testing is what makes your videos so popular. Keep up the great work, dare I say your Holy Crusade.
Hey i just wanna say thank you for the thoroughness and the various experiments to test each tool. It’s nice to see some truth about most of not all the supposedly best brands
Thanks for helping to keep us sane in 2020. In the shop tonight I was thinking, for 2021, I’d really appreciate Project Farm testing brands of general purpose chisels. I’m a Buck Brothers fan, but it’s becoming hard to find. the Kobalt, DeWalt, Irwin and Crapsman all look promising
@@ProjectFarm I think you need to do a video on testing ultra1plus.com oil. I tried it out on my motorcycle. Took it to the drag strip running it as well. I think it’s a good oil but there’s not much about it online. You should test it again Amsoil Mobil 1 and Royal purple.
@@brazyflow2850 i just got Peltor Tactical 500s that are really clear and have bluetooth built in id recommend looking into them, would really like to see how they compare against other big brands
@@MeatFluteniice that’s good to know I was looking at those too and the peltors comtac’s III. I was also looking at the sordins supreme pro x cause of pewpewtactical but the Amazon reviews on the sordins are mostly negative due to them being high priced and not worth it so I don’t know anymore lol
I have a pair of Ox-On BT1's that I am quite pleased with, but they don't fit very well when using a face shield. So a test should deffinitely include fit while wearing other protective gear like safety glasses, faceshield, respirators etc. HP gear is rarely used alone.
Honestly the best content I've seen so far on youtube. Fast talking, straight to the point, no fluff, no crap whatsoever. One video seen at first and it already convinced me to subscribe. Excelent content and presentation. Also you're a very likeable person, you always make me smile when I see your face :) Keep up the good work!
Oh my LOL!!! Billy Ray and the head-to-head grudge match. You, dear Sir, are simply the awesomest. Thank you for all your fantastic videos, especially this one!
