My dad bought a Hesston with MFD new around 78-79. He also purchased a hay conditioner. Both where good pieces of equipment. There was a place in Cissna Park Illinois that sold Hesston equipment.
I worked for one of the top selling Hesston tractor dealers in the '80s........sold a lot of them to the ranchers in the area. Not as sophisticated as the Deere's of the era, but very simple and strong. Held up pretty well. Resale value didn't hold up well, ....DT after the model number stood for Dual Traction (MFWD)
Interesting stuff. I wonder how a JD 4440 is not in there. The fiats are interesting there were a few around here and if you look at a old Oliver 550 they were built by fiat. Also the 80-90 fiat is a direct descendant to the New Holland TL 100 and the CaseIH 105U tractors. That design is just now getting phased out.
Have you done a list of best looking tractors? My tops are Ford commander 6000 with the front-end grill that is sort of diamond shaped (1965). Farmall super C, and the international hundreds series 500-1000s made in the 70s-80s
@@CrazyDEquipment don't worry how to pronounce some words, i'm not good in English at all, i'm from Finland, so i s speak Finnish... 😄 Btw about tractors, most common tractors in Finland are Valtra (earlier Valmet), do you have seen any in your area? Those were sold in US at late 90's-early 2000's, but assuming quite rare tractors out there... 🤔 Great channel 👍

sis thanks for the info. for the hesson name i saw some at empire farm days in upstate new your. if in your wheel house of knowledge of tractors. i have curiosity with the russian tractor line from belarus at the minsk tractor factory. a friend of mine loved the massey harris line of pony tractors. he all wished to own a super m tractor i am not sure of the brand farmall or international harvester. the international brand name might be wrong but i love the country song with the international harvester combine drive. america and now need combine tractors to harvest wheat to be ground into flour to feed the world. on the smaller tractors i would love to know about the 1970 wheelhorse lawn and garden tractors. and an oddity tractor called quadractor built by bill spenser of north troy vermont. in the 1980s and eventually raven trailer bought out the rights to manufacture off shore in china. great idea for a 8hp tractor that was very flexible and very high and low gear high torque and reasonable low cost. just on a long shot. thanks again for the video and the info. i like empire farm days in new york state. We had a smaller Hesston as a demo from the dealer. Not much impressed. Seemed awfully loud relative to it's power. The 1980's was the decade of separation for ag equipment manufacturers. Only the truly strong with good products and good balance sheets survived.
