Europe's capital cities remain unmatched to the rest of the world. From Malta's medieval city of Valletta, to jaw dropping architecture of Kyiv, Europe's capitals have so much to offer. Nice video, but I am going to make a correction. The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand triggered World War 1, not World War 2. Please don't be upset that I am correcting this, but I just wanted to make the point for future reference. This is a great video! Also, I don't know if it gets much respect, but Copenhagen is one of my favorite cities ever.

You could say that it also triggered WWII, because Germany and Japan didn't like the outcome of WWI. Japan got more nationalistic because of it and Germany got more divided.

been to bratislava until coronavirus hit and i should admit that for me it’s one of the most calming and pleasant cities to stay in, i only spent a full day there, having arrived early from vienna, and just after a couple of hours of city stroll i fell in love with it. for me it felt like it had such a unique spirit of old medieval, magnificent royal, and personally recognizable socialist past, decent present, and promising future. can’t wait to be back someday again!

Been to almost all of the cities except Valleta. Vilnius surprised me, an absolutely lovely city, started searching for Erasmus in Lithuania since then. Sarajevo is super interesting btw. Greetings from Prague.

You make the best travel videos I've ever seen. I don't know how you manage to get these amazing drone shots over the vibrant cites so smoothly without the risk of turbulence shaking the shots. But I got to say you should not only publish videos like these on RU-vid, but on a lot of these 4K UHD TV Sets that every local could see on there visit to stores like BEST BUY or Target and things.

Bratislava is only a one hour train ride away from Vienna. It's definitely worth a day trip to see Bratislava's old town if you're in Vienna. And if you're there around Christmas, definitely make the trip to see the Christmas market. It's our favorite one in Europe, being much quainter and more family focused than many of the ones in larger European cities.

I hope you like it here if you visit. I recommend either summer - there's a lot of cultural attractions in town, or before Christmas (well, the Christmas market was closed due to covid last year, hopefully this year the situation will be better).

i see a lot of people in here mention lisbon and i can’t quite agree that lisbon is kinda underrated. definitely, not the busiest destination, but, as far as i recall my trip to portugal, i was overwhelmed by how many tourists were there. i should say, i visited lisbon in winter, so not the most popular season to explore this marine empire, but i swear, everything went super smoothly, especially the weather, which was really warm and fine. gosh, lisbon was the first ever city i went abroad to, where i’ve seen palm trees thrive in winter 🌴 been to both luxembourg and brussels as well, by the way, and share the awe of their luxirious yet humble aesthetic!

I’ve been to 21 European capitals - London, Dublin, Paris, Monte Carlo, Lisbon, Brussels, Reykjavik, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Vienna, Vaduz, Rome, San Marino, Vatican City, Valletta, Nicosia, Kiev, Prague, Bratislava, Budapest and Bucharest. 23 if you include Cardiff and Edinburgh. Would recommend all of them. Planning on the 3 Baltic capitals and Ljubljana next. Been to Croatia and Bosnia too but didn’t see Sarajevo or Zagreb as went to Dubrovnik and Mostar instead.

@@RyanShirley thanks Ryan, I enjoyed your video and have subscribed to future ones. I’m lucky to live in the U.K. so virtually all these capitals are less than a 4 hour flight away. If I had to pick a top 5 of those, I’d probably say Stockholm, Budapest, Rome (which I guess includes the Vatican City where my hotel was), San Marino (very underrated hilltop city state) and Copenhagen. The other 3 places I’d highly recommend in Europe would be Krakow, Santorini and the Swiss Alps.

@@RyanShirley I,m not from there, but every time when I go to Bucharest I face this feeling, new vs old architecture, stunning places, amazing clubs, and restaurants, Green land everywhere, parks and recreation places. Nightlife is truly amazing in the old center.

For me 1. Vilnius (currently live there) 2. Oslo (would put at 1 but too expensive lol) 3. Sofia (got back from a few weeks ago) 4. Riga 5. Warsaw These are only ones I've been to that I would consider underrated. As for my fave capital Copenhagen for now but I'd like to see Berlin, I was actually going to Berlin this summer but the rona happened.

Except for few like Prague, Berlin, most countries that were part of the ex Soviet block are still not getting as much attention as the western Europe countries. But it's changing slowly as they are much cheaper to visit and can be equally as beautiful.

Bratislava became part of Czechoslovakia in 1920. It was the capital of Hungary for 300 years in the time when Hungary was shred into three parts because of the Ottoman invasion.

4:52 well in Riga you could saw similar building like palace of culture and science in Warsaw. That's latvian academy of sciences building, but it's smaller (107,6 m) than in Warsaw. I'm surprised that you didn't saw it! Or maybe you didn't like it? Oh wait you can see this building filmed by drone on 4:00 and also 4:10! Did you film Riga by drone by yourself?? It seems to me that video on 4:27 was filmed from top of this building!

I have been in Riga many times, cause it's a capital of my country and I studied 7 years in university there and worked there and have friends who live there! :) So I can say that Riga is second most visited city by me in Latvia after Jelgava! :) What about you? Where are you from? :)

The only two cities I've been to on this list are Kyiv and Brussels. Brussels was nust a transit point between Paris and Cologne. My biggest achievement there is eating at 5 in the morning at the very first KFC that opened in all of Belgium just a month prior (in the train station) Everything else was closed so early in the day. :( Fuck COVID. I wanna travel once again. :((
