Well, I am assuming you keep all the moves, which would make for an extremely rare, non-hacked magikarp. I mean, put a hyperbeam, rain dance(for the speed), ice fang and substitute on Gyarados before devolving it, and you have yourself quite a decent magikarp.
If no one has mentioned it yet, a genuine Sinistea requires the "genuine" teapot to evolve, the chipped one. Many users were very confused when their Sinisteas would not evolve using a cracked pot.
I'm glad you included the side games/spin-off games. I once encountered someone who claimed to have a list of every Pokemon Evolution method, but when I asked about the side games they gave me a rude and demeaning response, treating me like I was stupid for expecting someone to consider anything that wasn't from a main game (A simple no and a polite explanation would have sufficed). I'm glad you're cool & fun and not pretentious.

Inkay was indeed weird. Its funny, my friend actually leveled uo his inkay to level 97 because he didnt know how to evolve it back in XY. I tood him and he didnt believe me. When he did it, the face he made was priceless.
@@camera-is-me2606 Milcery had many different forms depending on the time of day, seconds of spin, and different sweets. Which you can evolve without a battle. Sirfetch'd evolve by 3 critical hits in one battle. Which made easier by the Giant Leek. Which you can obtain via battles, which is a regular thing in Pokemon. So now, which do you think deserves a spot?
Magikarp's evolution is not weird! It's from a legend where there were Koi fish trying to get up a waterfall but they couldn't do most left, some remained but after a lot more jumping, and being taunted by demons making the waterfall higher, they left. All but one. Eventually, he made it and the Gods turned him into into a Dragon for his perseverance.
When I was a kid I was playing pokemon blue and my weepinbell evolved into victreebel randomly after a battle and I couldn't figure out why... over 20 years later, I finally know how it happened 😂 thank you for this awesome video and channel!
@@sGCaesar Pokemon Blue (my copy, at least) didnt have a single Leaf Stone in all of Kanto, so watching it evolve on its own when it should have been impossible is hard to forget
6:50 or they’d just remove Alcreme in a future game for some unknown reason, lie about it and leave out spinning entirely, it’s honestly hard to say what this franchise is going to do from this point on
Just a guy named Mint Ikr the evolution method is so nonsensical and convoluted. I still don’t understand how that triggers the evolution. I mean, I guess the taking 40 damage part makes sense because it’s a ghost type (and while I’m not sure about Galarian Yamask, Unovan Yamask are confirmed to be dead humans) but I don’t get the bit about the archway. If the archway had some glowing markings or something that resembled Yamask it would make it seem like the arch was cursed, which would make the evolution make sense, but its just a bunch of rocks.
@@Void_Echoes let me explain:Yamask needs to take 40 damage so it's weakened and fragile, you know and then it literally gets sacrificed to something of the stones and the stones are revived into the pokemon (or something like that). Question answered but please now don't ask how King Crimson works
If you take it at face value, doesn't it look like the Magikarp going into the waterfall simply disturbed a sleeping Gyradose because we don't see the light of an evolution!?
I love it when you do these top 10s dude. You make these hilarious animations when you make the videos. Thank you so much for all of your help with entertainment. Edit: thank you for ♥️ing my comment Edit 2: maybe you could make a top 10 called the most complicated ways pokemon evolve
I was expecting Pokemon Yellow Pikachu to appear, since the only way to evolve it is to send it to an entirely different universe (game) and evolve it there.
Feebas: "I have two different ways to Evolve!" Mantyke: "I need Remoraid to Evolve!" Wurmple: "I have two entirely different Evolutionary Lines!" Galarain Farfetch'd, Galarain Yamask, Milcery and Sinistea: "Allow us to introduce ourselves!"
Sinistea evolves with a Cracked Pot if it is the Phony form, but evolves with a Chipped Pot if it is the Antique Form. Great video! I didn't know about No. 1!
@@usefulnt4456 the pokemon games have gotten too formulaic, there is no variety or neat features in the games anymore. It's just play the game beat the game maybe shiny hunt
For number 9, there is 2 forms to both Pokémon: the genuine one and the counterfeit one. Depending on which one you get will change which item is needed to evolve it.
@@veethebeaniest If you have, there will be a slider on its 'Dex page to show this. After that you can just use a Chipped Pot or Cracked Pot to identify which one/s are genuine
Ok but think about the logic. Boxing requires a good defense which represents Hitmonchan needing higher defense. Kicking is a stronger method of attack to punching (unless you're trained to punch more) because your legs are always supporting the weight of your body as you walk around so it much better represents Hitmonlee. Hitmontop however is all about balance, plus they likely made it on the off-chance someone's Tyrogue balanced its Attack and Defense stats.
@@Meanlucario The anime got it wrong along with a few other questions but very few of them were done wrong. People blew those few errors out of proportion.
If you evolve a missing no. It evolves into a kangaskhan that knows 'fly' It looks funny on Pokemon stadium. When u see your dude just chillen in the air... xD
they never explained how inkay evolves in the anime O_O that would have been interesting to see in the anime, since some evolutions in the anime are different then the games
It makes sense though, you can see remoraid in mantine's sprite and realistically the fish that remoraid is based off of does hang around with large predators like rays and sharks in a sort of symbiotic relationship
Simething different. Boy am I happy you linked all used songs. Rarely anyone does that! Got some nice music in the background that I also wanna checl out after a vid. So thanks for that extra step!
I'm more curious as to how anyone finds some of these evolutions out. "Travel under the stone bridge in Dusty Bowl after taking at least 49 damage without fainting" Excuse the fuck, Gamefreak? How the hell is anyone supposed to figure that one out on their own. "Oh god I haven't healed in awhile but I want to catch ONE last Pokemon. So let me go under this arch-" Yamask is evolving. "What?! All you need to evolve Yamask is to go under some arch/bridge in the dusty bowl and it evolves?" Takes fully healed Yamask. Nothing happens. "Is it a day thing, is it a night thing?" NOPE, it's a damage thing. "Well my Yamask had low health and your Yamask also had low health so its a health thing? Maybe?" Rinse and repeat. Like seriously was it even a natural discovery OR did they see it a guidebook and be like "Excuse me?! What do you want me to do?"
These are the sort of evolutions this video was about. How many people would figure it out on their own? Hold the 3DS upside down, spin in circles after getting fruit, trade two specific Pokémon with each other? Without the internet, they would be incredibly rare.
Why is this in my recommendations? It’s actually a good and humorous video! Also I find it hilarious that in number 9 he obtains “Cracked Pot”. If you have a dirty mind, you’ll understand.
If I'm not mistaken in the original Kanto anime didn't James get scammed into buying a "special magikarp"? Which Jessie ended up abusing or throwing it, which caused it to evolve. Must be where they got the idea for the Pokemon Snap evo. Concept.
10)Galarian Farfetch'd, 9)Eevee, 8)Inkay, 7)Alcremie 6)Shelmet & Karablast, 5)Galarian Yamask, 4)Tyrogue's Stat based evolutions, 3)Wurmple, 2)Pokemon Hex Values for Stone Evos in Gen1, 1)Glitchmon Evolutions in Gen1 I'm curious why people only seem to remember the April Fools Yoshi in Pokemon & not the other April Fools stuff & fake rumors? I remember rumors that Kirby was a Secret Pokemon in Stadium because of HAL Labs making that game. I remember rumors that there were Pokegods obtained through the use of godstones back in Gen1 & that rumor actually became reality in Gen 6 with Mega Evolution.
The gyarados one makes sense because magikarp is based off of a karp group that tried to jump over a waterfall but they all failed but one didnt give up and kept trying and eventually went over and when it did the gods turned it into a dragon so yeah you can look this up for yourself
I’m watching this 4 days ago,and I think the weirdest mon to evolve is a Male Combee/Salandit,G-Max Pikachu/Eevee in Pokémon Sword and Shield, now the reason why I picked this is beacuse in order to evolve both of them is getting a Final evoluton Pokémon holding 1 Candy while having one left in your box, then get any Pokémon in your party besides the mon you want to evolve(so just have a fully evolved Pokémon while holding a candy,a random Pokémon, and the mom you want to evolve)then press down and while holding down, then it will evolve, and the weirdest part is that it changes its gender
Well.. U blew my mind 2 times with the first gen. I never heard about the yoshi thing or pikachu evolving by a growlith. 20+years and ive heard about this. Great job!!
Regarding #9, it actually does matter which pot you have. If your Sinistea is a "phony" (no seal), you need to have the Cracked Pot in order to evolve it; the Chipped Pot only works on "authentic" Sinistea.
