Here's what region you can find each movie in: News of the World - UK, Australia, India, Philippines, and a few others The Harder They Fall - all The Power of the Dog - almost all, no UK The Hateful Eight - US, Canada, Australia, and a few others The Ballad of Buster Scruggs - all 310 to Yuma - Australia High Plains Drifter - US, Brazil Unforgiven - Poland, Belgium, Czech Republic, and a few others Old Henry - Canada, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico Godless - all This usually changes often so it might be different depending on when you watch this.

The Ballad of Buster Scruggs was damn good. When I feel down I gotta watch the first story with Scruggs in it - it just picks me right up. :)

I might shuffle around that deck a bit in terms of what films are more rightfully deserving of their placement, but accumulatively, I'd say you've got the top ten correct. It might not fall in line with what is traditionally called a western, though it strongly reflects some of that aesthetic, but 1923 was impressive. Same for 1883. It's not Netflix related but for Western fans, they may provide a welcomed treat to the palate.

Thank you for your time and posting. Agree, Godless (2017) was incredible. IMO, Michelle Dockery made that movie. I'll check out Old Henry (2021). Won't see News of the World (2020), with Tom Hanks, it will just be a watered-down Western. Seen the rest. Now, what about Cowboys and Aliens (2011)? Just kidding, it was a good ramp. Too many great westerns to mention, but Shane (1953) is probably my favorite that I can think of. Thanks again.

I think you had them listed in the right order. I may have put News of the World a little higher. I thought Tom's job as a traveling news teller was interesting and something I'd never heard or seen of before. Loved the Godless series and Old Henry. Godless was so good I'm always tempted to watch it again when I come across it on Netflix. Of course Eastwoods two movies mentioned are the westerns that all other westerns will be judge by till the end of time.

I have watched them all. But the one I liked the most wasn't on here. True Grit with Jeff Bridges. I watch it often. I love his character's gravely voise. That alone cracked me up.

Old Henry is great, Godless is really good also (a little different) but good. Still nothing beats Tombstone, Young guns, Unforgiven. Still waiting for a movie based on the Dalton Brothers (wests most notorious bank robbers).

Apparently I have good taste when it comes to western movies because I’ve seen them all…years ago. If that’s it for the best in 2024 I’ll have to watch some of them for the second or third time and hope I live to see 2025, which isn’t likely.

A couple you missed: Silverado - MUST SEE. Blazing Saddles - absolute pinnacle of genius from Mel Brooks (RIP Gene, Cleavon, Madeline, and many others). Also, it's ridiculously stupid, but if you like Adam Sandler, watch Ridiculous Six. And honorable mention check out Warrior - just started this one but wow, so good if you like old kung fu classics. Reminds me of a Bruce Lee style western!

I don't think it is on Netflix right now, but since you included a series, Lonesome Dove is, to me, by far the best Western ever made. Little Big Man is another one to consider at the top, along with Clint's The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

As you know, Yellowstone is set in our times, not the "old west"aka 1850ish to 1920ish which is all shown in this review. Now 1883 &1923 is a good vote up!
