(Edit) I know Blackwing Simoon the Poison Wind is a better opener nowadays, but Sirocco left a lasting impression as something that enabled me winning many-many duels in the past (when I still actively participated in locals back during synchro to Xyz era) by helping setting up a huge, but *simple* OTK, that is implied to be 'all of our friends powers are combined within you now, so be sure to make this one count' type of thing. Probably the same reason why I like playing around with Crusadia nowadays. So pardon me if Sirocco immediately crossed my mind when 'lv5 or higher that doesn't require tribute' is mentioned here. While Simoon is good in setting up a board, I guess his presence in my mind translates to mostly as 'the ladder to reach my winning condition' , which is admitedly on the same position as the likes of Breeze or Black Whirlwind, instead of an actual 'this is my win con'.
7:25 Actually "That Six" gives Diceclops better Odds than 50/50. You CAN choose to treat the die result as 6 or 1. You are not forced to use the effect. Sou you get the good Discard effect with 1, 2, 4 and 6. Thats a 67% chance to success.

Anime Helpoemer was pretty broken, its effect triggered every standby phase as long as it was in the GY and I think it didn’t need to be killed by battle, you could just discard it or foolish it.
@@brianaguilar8283 Yeah, the manga had different Levels and/or stats and/or effects for some monsters that had to be worked around in the anime with other cards to work somewhat similarly. In the manga, for example, Rocket Warrior's ATK decreasing effect made monsters it attacked lose ATK equal to Rocket Warrior's own ATK, so monsters lost 1500 ATK and not just a measly 500 like the OCG/TCG card does. The anime, however, was using the OCG/TCG version of Rocket Warrior, so they had to make up the anime-original card, Attrition, to simulate the 1500 ATK loss.
Nowadays that's pretty much any deck tbh. You'd be hard pressed to find a person with 3 or more cards in their hand that doesn't want any of them in the grave

It took me years to realize Helpoemer's name was supposed to be "Hell poemer". Apparently someone mistyped the card name or something, and I never realized it until in the german dub Yami Marik actually calls it by the translation of "Hell poemer"

Like Des Lacooda, where 'Des' is a cheap censor for 'Death' No idea if it is still so but at least back in the day YuGiOh had some weird censorship rules, amongst them was to avoid direct mentions of black magic (that's why it is the 'Dark Magician'), demons and death.
You are actually right. Helpoemer's Japanese name is Jigokushijin Herupoemā, which translates directly into English as Hell Poet Hellpoemer. Jigoku (Hell), Shijin (Poet), Herupoema (Helpoemer's name with a Japanese Pronounciation).
Censorship is possible despite it keeping its cross on its hellish body. Alternatively Hell Poemer could be using the Norse spelling that is "Hel" and then combining it to effectively partially censor the name yet still keep the original intent. Some cards aren't censored (with one doing the inverse), Helpoemer could be one that partially is. Ultimate offering shows blood as said offering in either art but the international art is less suggestive in how it's given.

Honestly, Dark Coffin was a funny card for me to use in Duel Links due to me using it alongside the Scrap Dragons. Being able to pop the card, and activate one of the 3 Dragon's effects and having a discard/destroy on destruction was pretty fun. Scrap Dragon and Twin Dragon probably benefitted the most since one is a any card pop and the other is forcing cards back to the hand
A little trivia: The reason of number 1 for having such a bad summoning condition and effect is because it was an anime card, during a batch of episodes in Zexal where people were being brainwashed with the Barian Force Rank-up Spell card, and the non Numbers Xyz became Cxyz, like Skypalace Gangaridai and Babylon, that also came from that same batch from the anime.

When this facedown card is destroyed by your opponent, choose 1 of the following effects:_ ⚫️Discard 1 random card from their hand. ⚫️Select 1 monster on their side of the field and destroy it. ⚫️Select 1 card in their GY and add it to the top of their deck.
Needs some PSCT, but not a bad thought. Although the third effect is more likely to be a boon to the opponent rather than a hindrance because they can choose what they draw next as long as it's in the GY.

Also the card owner is the one that gets to choose the effect, so my idea was if your opponent needs a specific card in their GY, you’d force it out wit this card. A lot of decks use the GY as a second deck, so I figured that’d make sense.
@@ButFirstHeLitItOnFire PSCT = Problem Solving Card Text. It's basically "how to write a card so that the effect doesn't need clarification via rulings because the card was written improperly". The activated effect doesn't need "Once per turn" at the start because you can't activate a trap the same turn it is set. Since you were trying to retrain Dark Coffin, it seemed like your opponent would pick the effect like the original. If, as the owner, you're picking the effect, the card is straight broken. What you have is a card that grants pure advantage that punishes the opponent for destroying it while being able to reuse its main effect for more advantage since your opponent would likely have to go minus 1 in card advantage in the first place to get rid of it.
I think Fengsheng Mirror is the right philosophy for a specific counter card. It counters the thing it aims at and gives a fringe benefit otherwise. I think it's just a bit too weak for what it does. It does very little to stop a Yata-Garasu from blocking your draw. But it was the right idea. Maybe if it was a trap card it could work. So something like this "If you have no cards in your hand and your opponent has 3 or more, special summon 1 level 3 or lower monster from your deck with the same type as 1 card on the field but its effects are negated until your next turn. Select and discard 1 or 3 spirit monsters to the graveyard if Spirit Monsters exist in his/her hand. Look at your opponent's hand. You may negate the effect of 1 Spirit Monster if multiple were summoned this turn. If you do not draw cards in your next draw phase, draw 1 card Main Phase 2 and pick 3 cards in your graveyard to put in your deck" So what does this do against Spirit Monsters? It would hard counter Yata-Garasu since you could just let it return to your opponent's hand, activate Fengsheng Mirror, discard it and then get your draw next battle phase. If your opponent drew a lot of cards and you suspected they might have Spirit Monsters, you could activate this to preemptively dump them all. You could activate it after they filled their hands on their turn. At least I think you can try to activate it if they searched a card, chaining it to the search does no good sicne chains resovle backwards, but I think you could activate after the serach resovles but before a summon. If your opponent is spamming you with Spirit Monsters, you can negate one of them as long as he's summoning a lot. It would be a pretty good counter, with the downside of being vulnerable to the usual backrow popping if you don't have a Starlight Road or Solemn judgement to save it. And if you are facing a generic deck? Well, it's not the end of the world. This isn't Hero Neo Bubbleman which needs a banned card to be brought out the intended way or Exhausted Spell which needs your opponent to run specific cards. You'll still get hand information and had a niche effect if you're out of cards. Fengsheng Mirror just isn't that useful as a Spell Speed 1 card that does little to counter the Yata-lock, but the design of this counter is much better than many others.
Been recently watching your hearthstone videos, and I have to say that your editor(s) have a lot more fun with the text on screen there than in your yugioh videos. Here they are mostly copying what you say verbatim. Is that an audience thing that you have decided on over time? Man, this game has changed so much lately. I played for about 5 years I think. Let's just say this, I played when Chaos Emp dragon could lock you in place with Yata Garasu. Lol! I stopped playing shortly after they introduced Synchro and XYZ cards mainly because all the cards shops in my area closed down. Had no where to play or keep up with all the updates. My favorites were the Monarch cards. Caius the Shadow Monarch and Mobius. Now I hear that you can play cards out of your hands and whatnot. Nah, I'm good lol! Fun times, fun times.

I forget which game it was but Helpoemer was really evil in a stall deck. The cpu was more than happy to kill it for you and eliminating hand options constantly made stalling even easier.

Like the last time it showed up, I disagree with putting Fengsheng mirror so high up on this list, or any list, really. Sure, it'll pretty much never net you a discard, and go -1 in card advantage, but hand knowledge is absurdly vital. It's half the reason cards like Forceful Sentry, Confiscation and Trap Dustshoot are so powerful. Being able to know what your opponent has can let you play around it, which is always a clean advantage. The fact it may also discard a card from your opponent's hand is just a bonus.
I was hoping Secrets of the Gallant to be here, it discards 2 cards but unless you're playing Drak Magicians or Blue Eyes is really difficult to infrict damage with a normal monster, also is a trap.

Set the cards on the table, roll a die, then count the cards from left to right on the result and that one is the one chosen. Repeat if multiple cards need to be discarded.
I’d just shuffle my hand, and have my hand unseeable to my eyes (and my opponent as well), then, I will choose a card to discard and then, continue the game as normal, while getting angry at the fact that I discarded one of my key cards that is needed to win the duel
I would face-down shuffle all the cards into one pile then pick multiple cards up. The problem is picking up the right number of card to lose/keep. It would be far easier for me to just choose which cards if possible.If it just asks for a set number; shuffle them without seeing what they are then choose any card to either keep or lose.

Idk, Dicelops can be fixed simply by switching the effect you get when you roll a 1 with the effect you get when you roll 2,3,4 and 5. That gives you a 2/3 chance of ripping a card in your opponent's hand. And for God's sake, the guy has the best level in the game, is a machine (a well-supported type), and is a FIRE monster with 200 DEF (which means it can be revived with Rekindling). No need to make it a tuner too
Geargiarmor also has archetype support that it synergizes with: Geargiarsenal can special summon it from the deck, then you can flip Geargiarmor face-down with its effect. Geargiarmor is a great target for that because Geargiarsenal special summons its target in Defense position and all the other Geargia monsters have total garbage DEF. Swarm of Crows has... nothing, because it's not in an archetype. That Six brings Dicelops' odds of getting a 1 up to 2/3, not 1/2; you're forgetting to count the actual 1 on the die in addition to 2, 4, and 6. That Six is optional, not mandatory, so you can just choose not to change the number if you happen to actually roll a 1. You could use Kunoichi with Mystic Box, I suppose. That's still a -1 for you, though.

How about Top 10 Archfiend cards and archfiend support (cards that mention Archfiend in their text)? It's one of the largest archetypes in the game after all. Also, top 10 Elemental Hero cards, and HERO cards outside Elemental sub-archetype? Top 10 non-archetype monsters? Top 10 Fiend Monsters?

@@attilaszanto2275 It's 5D's version of the Egyptian God might. The last to appear (Ra & Rasca) are the best in anime but worst in real life. All you get for real is a (pun intended) giant beaterstick that can get rid of cards in opposite ways: free Ra from the open heavens above requires a payment of your life to pop a mon while bound Rasca from the covering earth below gains power from both you and your opponent losing cards. This can be both bad and good while their fellow Gods have only good effects. Honorable mention at best is The Trickster God that is this vulture.
