South Park is "intelligent" humor? They have just as many poop, vomit, and other retch-inducing jokes as Family Guy has; maybe even more. So many episodes just revolve around referencing recent controversial news stories and making fun of it in some way. This type of humor would never hold up. I won't say that Family Guy is that great, but comparatively? They're not that far off from each other.

When I watch or read stories like this, I invest myself, treating characters like they’re real people, and they’re usually horrible people! Price to be honest i actually agree on the thoughts of everyone saying that Seashore Seashell Party really it’s one of the worst i ever see because to be honest i never liked the characters on that episode (except from Brian and Stewie) but seriously there needs to be a episode in which Lois divorces Peter and to be honest wouldn’t anyone like that kind of episode or not

As someone in the shoes of Meg, I liked that episode. When your family singles you out as the dedicated pincushion, you really have no chance but to put up with it. The message, I think, although badly conveyed, was that Meg has a tremenduous power over her family in the sense that if she did a 2 minute monologue on them, she could undo the fabric of the entire family, yet she chooses not to, for their sake. One way to look at it is that she's the victim, but I kind of see it as her being the bigger man. If your family's view of you is that you are a human shaped pile of discarded garbage and potato peels, there's only so many times you can lay into them so hard that they cry for two days before you realize that they'll always think you are garbage, regardless of how bad you made them feel. There's a reason(probably not a good one) why your own family refuses to look at you as if you were a real person with feelings and emotions and the ability to feel pain, both physical and psychological. It's not something that can be changed. Meg refused to do to them what they've been doing to her all her life. I find that inspirational.

Very true. While I like most of his content, he has quite a few opinions I strongly disagree with. Inspite of that, he’s earned my full respect as a person with that one moment. It really shows how respectful he is and that he really cares about his audience.

Hey, the first 7 seasons of this show were great, and I will defend that to the death. Are you a South Park fan?

Ikr, the latest seasons are just terrible. I mean, most of the characters in these seasons are just down-right terrible. Peter is a freaking drug addict who murders at least 3 people in each episode for no reason, keeps shooting strangers, abuses his children, assaults his wife, and just beats his friends to death. He teaches adults who got divorced apparently to kill themselves with a knife the right way...? Im surprised this guy didnt even get into "Top 10 Worst Cartoon Characters". Stewie is a freaking hyperactive 3 year old who SOMEHOW owns a gun and a knife just to kill people for his amusement. Brian is a damn jerk who apparently accidently had sex with Joe's mother, keeps acting like a bitch to his son and the public, and just wants to give people diseases... I mean dear god, at first when I saw him die in that one episode I felt really sad. Now, when I rewatch the episode, I god damn cheer "Hooray", and I rewind just to see it again. Chris is just a gay teenager who took a picture of his penis and sent the photo to some girl... and Meg plus Peter's wife have some exceptions, but can be jerks as well. I mean, this show is a god damn torture show and is only good for making yourself throw up by constantly seeing several clips of gallons of blood coming out of people's heads blowing up and arms getting cut off in each scene. I admit, there are good episodes, but not from MODERN Family Guy. Seeing Peter stab every 20 women each mile and constantly torture his friends for 10 minutes in just the first half of the episode is not a pleasant experience. If I was to take over Family Guy right now, I would be able to replace all the main characters with brainless chimpanzees who just sit around all the time and still make it better. I rather watch Lady Gaga drink alcohol and crash her car into a wall then watch more than 5 minutes of an episode in Season 13. Apologies for this, I know some of you probaby enjoy the later seasons, and it is just my opinion, but Im gonna be honest, I dont enjoy people cutting themselves through the throats. Well, I read that Seth *did* want to end Family Guy from *_time_*, but Fox keeps pushing him to have *newer* episodes made. The way that the episodes are written *now* by the *current* writers could be a sign that he _really_, *_really_* wants to *end* it.

That would make a lot of sense.

Seth actually said that he wanted the show to end around season 6, and that season 12 should be its last. I'm sure at this point he's done with family guy, and watching the newer seasons you can really tell that he's lost his sense of interest.

70% of an episode doesn't count as filler, it counts as the show. Pretty sure by definition the limit on filler should be 49% before there is no longer a plot, just a cutaway that has a continuing (occasionally with FG) narrative. This from a fan of the show. In fact I would say the filler is the better part anyways.

I don't think he deserves to be put in any prison. I think he deserves to be put down. Like, one day dad made a comment about him and compared him to Rodger, saying he was not quite as bad, and I made an argument that he is much worse because at least when Rodger does something horrible, he usually has a clear motive for what he does. I don't know what this episode was going for, but this was just disturbing, and the few parts that weren't were just boring and pointless. This episode failed on every possible level. The problem is that Family Guy has gotten too dark for its own good. In the first three seasons, they were on the same level of humor as The Simpsons, and it was great! But in Season 4 and onwards, it the show has been getting darker with every passing seasons, and it’s been doing so through its humor, and worst of all, its characters! Everyone in this show has become a worse version of themselves, more selfish, psychotic, which is ironic, because Stewie got the opposite by being less evil.

Seahorse party is one of the best episodes. My only criticism is it's a bit too real. But it truly shows family guy is willing to do anything. Including actually throw some serious, intelligent drama in our face.

Watching the breakup is pretty boring and annoying, Stewie's advice is either good and annoying, and Quagmire chasing down Loretta is weird. Yeah, I skip this one, it's awkward and boring 9) This is just awful, there is nothing funny about Stewie's injury and the way they just mess around with him and make it worse. Over the top, and fucking wrong, and who thought it was funny? 8) Ugh, this is painful to watch, the domestic abuse is over the top, and FG tried to be serious, and fucked it. Iraq Lobster is the only good thing about this episode 7) This episode is just fucking stupid, and the execution was just wrong 6) This was just boring as hell, Stewie showed up well, but when a mediocre B-plot is the redeeming quality, yikes. The whole family having an unpleasant fight (does Seth pleasure himself to arguments or something) and then blaming everything on Meg. 1 word, BAD 5) This episode goes from average to below average. Seriously, the FG writers ran clean out of ideas a while ago. The episode doesn't work, and is not only unpleasant, but boring as well 4) Just a stupid concept that was dragged on, and it was weird and not really funny. Peter's hairless twin gag is just terrible, big surprise, S12, more like way past this show's sell date 3) It might be odd and sadistic, but I liked this episode for some reason. Brian was super unpleasant, but with how far in the series, I was used to it. Beats me, I have no problem watching this, the Bill Maher scene is decent 2) UNWATCHABLE. Imo the worst episode I have seen of ANY animated series I watch, it is just abysmal . The A-plot is disgusting, the B-plot is infuriating, and there is NOTHING about this episode I like. I will NEVER watch this, should have been deleted after it was aired, it has zero redeeming qualities. Brian giving Stewie a fucking disgusting STD, the concept is just wrong, and a later season episode that makes me feel bad for Peter goes too far. The vets are pricks, no one is likeable, and if a meteor came a wiped out the town at the start it would have been a much better watch. 1) I like to forget about this episode, its 2nd on the worst list for me, behind that shit. It sucks, both Brian and Peter look like assholes, I'd rather Brian not even have a son to begin with. The Peter thing is an idea in theory, but fuck me the execution is terrible beyond belief. The thing that made FG funny in the first place was the over-the-top danger and evil, combined with the lighthearted fast paced tone of episodes. The writers have gotten very VERY lazy, Everything drags on and nothing is actually funny bc it looks really cruel and graphic. Also Brian and Peter are unredeemable characters at this point, which is why the series should just end

+Csskitty Completely with you there. Used to love it, and still think seasons 1 to 3 are incredible. But recently it's just been rubbish, and not because it's offensive; because it's lazy, repetitive, unfunny and the offensive humour that IS there isn't there for any reason except to try to be offensive. This argument that "You only hate Family Guy because you're easily offended" doesn't quite mesh when your other favourite shows are things like South Park and Monkey Dust, an old British sketch show with jokes about suicide, paedophilia and murder. The difference is that those shows are offensive to make a point (whether something political like South Park often does, or to make a point about how we perceive the world and art in general) and that they are clever with it and try to vary their delivery.

i think the thing here is there is no joke behind alot of the grotesque and brutal moments family guy. they use the same exact stock sound effects for punching for some reason. almost all these moments are just shock and no punchline. All the charachters are esentially puppets acting out Seth McFarlanes really fucked up fantasies

I agree here too, I don't exactly hate it either. Oh and Jeff is actually not her husband, but her boyfriend. 7. That little Peter was so annoying so yes good choice 6. Excellent, this episode deserved a place here. In fact it's the second worst episode of the show to me. 5. Yeah, Peter is such a jerk here. Funny Meg did say in the previous episode that he would be in jail if anyone saw how he treats her 4. OH YES, Fresh Heir is actually my 4th most hated episode of the show 3. Brian is such a jerk, it's saying something when he's unfair to Stewie of all people. This is one of my least favorite episodes though nowhere as Number 6 and 4. 2. This is actually my most hated episode in the series, Seriously I wanted Brian to stay dead after this episode 1. Havn't seen that one. Seriously I grown to hate Brian, if the top 3 episodes are examples. Great work once more

The difference between Memes and a show like family guy is that Memes are pretty much disposable in every way and don't take that long to make, depending on how much effort you put in of course. Most of the low brow offensive memes are usually just standard pictures with captions while usually more complex Memes like videos usually take more effort and usually they aren't as dark. Usually. While a show like family guy is just that, a tv show, something that takes a lot more time effort and care to make and make well.

You get it. It's supposed to be a comedy show. It can teach morals, but it doesn't have to. It can be written well, but it doesn't have to. It's supposed to be a simple story line with jokes sprinkled in. It's not supposed to be taken seriously.

THATS a big fallacy right there (a mistaken belief, especially one based on unsound argument.), just because its comedy doesnt mean we cant critique it, and some people take things to heart, and while we may laugh at jokes about rape or death, two equally horrible things, Family Guy handled it poorly (if it even COULD do it well, which is possible if this were EARLY family guy). I disagree strongly. I dont think you can say that these jokes are okay but this isnt when it comes to humor. You dont have to like the joke but the fact people can laugh over especially people who been suicidal just proves where strong enough to move on.

Petshark Studios It sort of did say it was her fault, they blamed her for not breaking up with him. And they aren't being beaten for fun, it's because their spouse wants to feel power and control. My point is some people can't break up with their abusers because if they do they could be killed by their spouse, left homeless, or fall into another abusive relationship. If they have children they sometimes feel like they have to stay for them. I've seen people go through this and I can tell you, it is not as simple as you make it out to be.

They are so used to that routine that they can't imagine living without it, so they want to defend the ones they believe are taking good care of them. Have you ever even met an abused person, it seems like you have not. Abusive relationships are not easily solvable, if they were, it wouldn't be an issue.

People assume the "big strong men" are more likely to be abusive, but woman can also be very abusive too. Men who are abused have been shown to try to ignore or hide the fact that they are abused because they worry that they may be seen as weak or "girly". I do agree that people should leave their abusive partners, but that's not likely to occur without a lot of intervention. They don't just walk into a relationship where they know they will be abused, they go into the relationship and everything seems normal in the beginning. Then they start being abused and they want to stay because they think that maybe they're still nice, or that something they did made them angry and they want to find out how to fix the situation. Yes some people will see the problem and try to solve it, but there are some bad cases that do need attention. My point is that Brenda may have been in one of those cases that couldn't easily be fixed with a quick break up. Her life might have been in danger, and she shouldn't be blamed for not breaking up with him.

My best guess is they think it's "edgy." Though it's entirely possible the writers staff is just made up of callous mean-spirited people who shouldn't be writing.

It's an unending problem throughout humanity's history, and it's never funny for anyone actually involved in it. I don't particularly like 9\11 jokes or consider them good or funny, but at least that event is over and will never happen again, so the jokes aren't unbearable (though they're usually pretty tasteless.) But there is no solution to suicide rates, and the problem of it will never go away, and suicide jokes are a disgrace to all those suffering from the loss of loved ones, and the memory of the dead who fell to depression. In other words, it's a bad joke topic.
