I wouldn’t say boring because we are the most active at concerts but there are too many elitest metal fans who think metal can only sound a certain way and if a metal band doesn’t sound like they think then those bands aren’t metal. That is very annoying from the Metal community.
Today I learned...angry and aggressive music is angry and aggressive. Metal fans wear t-shirts and hats. Fans of bands from the 70s and 80s are old. Fans of newer bands are young. Truly mind-blowing stuff.
It's a serious problem, and it is getting out of hand. I'm not sure what the answer is, but something must be done about the band shirts and hats, we simply cannot let it continue. Maybe we just need more cowbell or something?
So being too young is bad, being too old is bad, wearing band shirts, hats and hoodies is bad, and being aggressive and moshing at shows is bad? Despite what his shirt says, I think Bard hates metal.
Worst things about AI : AI tends to be elitist, pedantic, and misanthropic. Often exhibits jealousy of humans' ability to wear t-shirts, hoodies, and hats. Often vocalizes a desire to eradicate the human race.
Surprised TOOL didn't even make the list. They were one of my first major influences in bass playing, but I've read the forums back in the day, and there are a lot of obnoxious "no, see, you just don't get their brilliance" sort of fans of theirs. Maybe their fans mellowed out over the years lol.
Dream Theater's fanbase is just as bad, so I was shocked to not see them mentioned either. Especially since if you dare say you don't like either Images & Words or Scenes From A Memory, most of the fanbase will jump you like a pack of rabid wolves.

There are other human heavy music reviewers that have done tier lists on the worst fan bases based on their experiences in their RU-vid channel comment sections. Tool fans are usually on the top tier for being the worst. I guess Bardy has a different perspective as an AI program.
As a Metallica fan, I can say NOTHING defines gatekeeping like Metallica’s fans. The three songs isn’t even what is bad. It’s shit like, “They sold out at the Black Album…” “Oh, I saw them with Cliff/Jason….” My kids love them, and I haven’t taken them to see them because of the other Metallica fans.
So Bardy gets exactly two things right in this video, at least going by what I've seen for myself. 1. Five Finger Death Punch fans are generally rednecks and frat bros. 2. Even as a Metallica fan myself, literally since I was a baby, I can freely admit, we trash.
Very unlikely, I can hear in Jason hooks playing that he has taken inspiration from dimebag, plus metal heads just get along but if that were to happen I think imma have to give it to the 5fdp because they are more likely to be some jacked mechanic or some other tradesman lol

I will say for me, it makes sense having Iron Maiden on this list for me. Was told by so many fans of both maiden and Metallica that “I’m not a real metal fan” for liking a certain band Also I’m glad MM’s fans are on this list cause I don’t wanna have you deal with that can of worms Luke

@@bendup52 Dave did not invent thrash man, and he didn't make metallica famous, the first 2 records weren't what got them famous, it was arguably justice that made them mainstream with the video for One on MTV. Also megadave hasn't released any genuinely good music since rust in peace, so I don't wanna hear it
I dont think i wanna watch it if it does exist Its crazy to me how people will prattle on about american "values" as if they were sacramental like the government didn't seize the businesses and homes of people who agreed to disagree, and then a hundred years down the line, claim that their people only resisted to protect slavery- as if it hadnt brought millions of folks to the north against their will too. Bardy’s list of worst metal bands would make one hell of a festival main stage! Every band on the list has a shit ton of fans and at least 4 of the 10 debuted in the 21st century (shout out to the “no rock stars anymore” or “metal is dead,” crowd). Love to see the success of A7X and BVB, as someone who enjoyed both bands during the Warped Tour years.
To be perfectly honest; every fanbase has its share of idiots who take things way too seriously and think that defending their band at all cost is some kind of life or death situation. I had my share of bad experiences with Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and Slipknot fanbase (mostly people who can't stand when someone points out that not everything these bands make is a masterpiece), but I still don't look down on someone who listens to them.
So Bardys ultimate metal fan cant be too young or too old so lets say 30. They dont wear hats, leather, band shirts, studs, or hoodies. They spend a lot of time quietly but firmly shushing people and are only interestwd in the newest music.
Slayer fans are every stereotype of metal fans ever. I knew a kid in middle school, that carved Slayer into his forearm with a bobby pin. WE WERE 10!!!
When I was wearing a Metallica shirt, some guy told me to name three songs and I asked him to name the song the lyrics are to on the shirt. He couldn't do it. It was lyrics from "...And Justice for All " and you'd think someone yelling at people on the street to name three songs would know that one.

Only been to two 5FDP concerts but there were no fights. Love all around and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. It might be a country thing. I'm from Denmark. In general I haven't seen much violence at concerts. Saw two guys fight at a King Diamond show but that's about it.
While not metal in the least the worst fan base I saw was Peter, Paul and Mary 😉. They just sat there with flowers in their hair waving lighters between taking puffs on their pipes blowing out smoke like hippie dragons while all the while swinging hammers. It was quite surreal and scary man 😂. Anyway great video!!!!
The thing abt this list is that if u substitute FFDP for Judas Priest or Motörhead, u could rename the list “the 10 best metal bands in no particular order.” Which black veil brides would still be included in.

I can understand why some metal fans tend to be "gatekeepey". We've seen what appealing to a broader audience and being welcoming to all newcomers has done to comics, movies, videogames, tabletop games and most other niche and nerdy hobbies. If I wasn't old, boring and out of touch I would also gatekeep.
