I love how Joe went on local news about the whole violent video game controversy. That shows so much dedication towards this entertainment medium and it makes me so happy to see him representing it. Love you, Joe; keep rocking 🤘
Did he actually specify _he_ went to them, not the other way around? Joe's easily one of the biggest names in gaming-related YT, someone at the station was probably well aware he's from the area and suggested they go to him for an interview.
Obviously... You're JUST realizing that video games are a passion to him?? And that he works harder than most RU-vidrs out there? Get the fuck out lmfao. You're garbage.

The reason the Fallout 76 debacle depresses me more is because the community quickly forgave them just because Wastelanders, the bare minimum of what a Fallout should have in 2020, came out. They forgive and excuse a game that remains very buggy, breaks promises, has ridiculously overpriced monetization, and really offers nothing new to the Fallout formula except for janky multiplayer.

when publishers began buying out gaming companies is when we screwed over the gaming industry, When video games became corporate is where we lost everything.
TitanSparrow The pesticide Atrazine is a major pollutant in most drinking water. It causes male frogs to develop functioning female reproductive organs. Frogs can do that naturally, but it’s significantly more common when they live in Atrazine-polluted water (even when the level of Atrazine in the frogs’ water is only a fraction of the legally permissible level of Atrazine in our drinking water). Atrazine interferes with the hormonal activity of both humans and animals at extremely low doses.
After every entry I was like "this is low the list, what other controversies were worse than this" then every time I saw the next entry I said "oh yeah that happened" a pretty big year for controversies
When I saw Fallout at 8 I thought that something was wrong with the list, but then I watched the rest of the list and couldn't agree more. This was a really bad year by the game industry for players.

There is something absolutely hilarious about the visual of him ranting about video games while a muted Jim Sterling rants about video games behind him.
This. Pokemon was my favorite franchise until that E3 announcement. They went from having a $40 price point in the handheld Era to $60, a $30 DLC expansion, plus the subscription for Home (up to $16/yr) and Bank ($5/yr) in the console Era. Home Premium costs almost as much as an annual Nintendo Switch Online subscription! This is EA levels of price gouging.

the reason why i would always back expansions and good value dlc over microtransactions: + it adds additional gameplay, enlarging the overall game experience + having absolutely no negative impact to others even getting more quality content in the future + doesn't screw over the balance of the game and is completely OPTIONAL + customers feel a sense of value with their purchase even years later + a single game doesn't get overstuffed with content and doesn't give customers the feeling of catching up + social pressure has less effect with dlc than microtransactions skins and items like in fortnite + games with dlc as a business model has normally a cap not higher or less than 30/60 bucks microtransactions: - risk of impacting the game even further with grind tactics in future or current games if you buy some - looking good or getting rewarded with skins and other items is practically behind a paywall now - overstuffed ingame stores with skins and boosters - developers need to put in longer (crunch) hours on the same game under the name 'game as a service' because of microtransactions, causing burn outs. - less innovation in future games because they already make milions on the same gameplay loop because of microtransactions - complexity turns into simplicity in games so that publishers reach a wider audience meaning more cash - games as a service - corrupting gamers with the "it's necessary because games are to expensive" speech while ignoring that publishers still make more revenue selling dlc or the game itself. - workers not seeing a penny of this ridiculous wealth and publishers not paying a single penny of that microtransaction money in tax. - money goes to innovations in gambling mechanics, RPG mechanical tricks for children and adults to spend more money instead of going to new features and innovation. love or hate my opinion, even call me a millennial but i remember a time not so long ago when i bought my game. I got something bursting with creativity, innovation, value, quality over quantity with good dlc and at least a finished product with some less hard drive intensive patch updates. that for only 60 bucks or less with an OPTIONAL season pass of around 30 or 40 bucks. fight for good gaming people.

Garrett Naugher I think saying that it's the video games is something of an easy out for the blame on that shooting when mass media in general like movies and music do the same. That way they can say they did something to address the issue (specifically that shooting) without looking much further. For what it's worth, I think cracking down on Games wouldn't be completely pointless, but it wouldn't do much to fix what's wrong with us, when we need to look into societal/work/mental problems that drive a lot of people to that point.
