I love this concept of lists and quick show. Love the podcast in any form.

I think it's funny that Marciano and Dempsey are tied. Both also fought at a weight range between 185 and 192, although sometimes Rocky went even lighter. In Dempsey's case, he fought lighter on purpose, because he felt it made him faster than the bigger guys. In Rocky's case, it was just an accidental byproduct of how hard he trained, even over-trained, and he had bad advice on nutrition. (For example, he'd chew steaks, swallow only the juices and then spit out the solids. 😅 )

I like the lists, this would’ve been even better with a second man giving his takes on each guy. You can sprinkle these short ones in from time to time, but the normal format is what brings me back every week.

Fair enough! Your honesty is appreciated, and we have some more multi-angle stuff coming shortly 🥊

Honorable/noteworthy mentions: Lee Savold, who had the British and European versions of the world heavyweight championship, had 72 kos. Earnie Shavers, while not a champion, came very close to beating Ali, and had 68 ko's. Fred Fulton had 70 kos. Never won the championship title but he did beat champions in non-title fights. Sam Langford, who won the world colored heavyweight title at a time when the black fighters really were the best around and the most avoided, had 126 kos in total, and 85 kos at heavyweight alone. Archie Moore, who was mainly just the Light Heavyweight champion, also won a fight in 1960 that was promoted as for "The American Heavyweight Title". He had 132 kos total. (I haven't yet taken the time to figure out how many in each division.) The Ageless Warrior had great fights for the world heavyweight title against Rocky Marciano and Floyd Patterson, before facing future champion Muhammad Ali in a non-title fight.

Oh yeah, the field sure opens up without the more specific criteria. I got about to about twice as many fighters as on this list and figured it was simply too much, and a few of the fighters were kinda fringe heavyweight titlists where the WBO recognition was murky, etc. But I guess if it gets people discussing, that's something! Thanks for checking it out 🥊

@@PatrickConnorBeard Exactly! It's all just fun to think and talk about! It even shows the true champions who fought (and beat) them are even greater than they look! 💪🥊

Your out of your mind prime sonny Liston destroys most of these fighters. He wasn’t slow when he was young. And according to mr ali who “he’s a lot faster than you think n. I’ll take his word on it

Either you didn't even watch/listen or you're just choosing to go off on some other tangent. It's a numerical list. Not a personal list.
