Although Sakuya has lived for so long that Remilia "Can't call her human anymore" this is possible because of Sakuya's time manipulation effectively making her immortal

if we consider everything that happened all across the game, Reimu fought tens of gods, solved 17 incidents, saved the world about 15 times, befriended a vampire and a yukari AND to top it off, she is annoying in imperishable night, as she earned a spot in the boss list. she is definitely among the most powerful beings in the entire existence of touhou

In addition to what you said about yuuka, she is depicted as kind of a rival with yukari. Also after her mystic square ending she received the ultimate magic! Though no one knows what that is! In Yuuka's ending in Mystic Square, she talks about learning magic. This could be that in Mystic Square, she used her power she acquired in her dream world and in Phantasmagoria of Flower View, she used magic plus getting power from the flowers in the flower fields. It's impossible for normal humans to exterminate her, and it's unclear if even the Shrine Maiden has defeated her. She also seems untouched when someone beats her in pofv except for Medicine and Komachi. She even defeated Shiki a god, a really powerful one that is. Lastly, though Yuuka is classified as a youkai, Hieda no Akyuu speculates that she’s a force of nature similar to the fairies.

I agree, Reimu is seriously OP. In The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Reimu is said to have the power to manipulate the spirits of living things, and she can purify spirits. She can turn space inside out, open dimensional rifts and barriers, and prevent enemies from approaching her while making projectiles miss her automatically. By floating above existence, she becomes effectively untouchable by any of the hax abilities in the series, including Yukari’s, so most attacks simply pass through where she appears to be harmlessly. Lastly, but most importantly, by using the "memory" within all things, she can alter the probability of something happening, even if it goes against the laws of physics, as the "memory" layer of the world exists beyond the mental one, which in turn exists beyond the physical one, which is controlled by the laws of physics.

Small thing about remilia: Her speed and strengh are that of an avarage tengu/oni. Means in speed she is slower than Aya or she is weaker than any of the four devas

I don't want to say this but, i got really annoyed at all the people who are obssessed with versuses different universes and when it comes down to touhou, literally everyone who doesn't know touhou understimate and lowplay and won't even recognize their abilities. I think this video should be shown to all those people and maybe they will start understand lol! Sorry it was an off topic, really beautiful arts and musics...and my favorite is obviously Yukari!

Others who deserve a mention imo, at least more so than Sakyua (who's really OP but the weakest on the list, especially in terms of raw destruction output): Toyohime (If a little redundant considering Yorihime is already here) Yuugi Utsuho Kanako/Suwako Sagume Eirin Mokou / Kaguya Shinki / Mima And likely various other final bosses, such as Miko and Byakuren

Funny thought, if you include Reimu (Which I agree she's very powerful this isn't a complaint), could you by the same reasoning include Kirisame Marisa, cause she's been playable in the main Touhou Bullet Hell Games since I believe the 3rd game. I personally think that satori should have a spot too She's one of the most underestimated characters since she doesn't use her full power (spell card rule) and is more mental based She is also one of if not most feared youkai in all gensokyo, due to her ability to read mind and to easily hypnotize, recreate trauma and copy spell card (even complex ones sucy as Patchouli's philosopher's stone or Yukari's double death butterfly) She banned herself in hell and is still one of the most terrifying youkai despite her quiet nature (and the only character who yukari fear), even onis wouldn't mess with her (and they are under her governance) The only counter to her power is her own sister who is lacking an identity

It's another "vaguely defined powers" translates to "insanely powerful character" list. Aside from ZUN confirming some of them as very powerful, some of your choices, like Aya, over a character like Yuugi or Utsuho is just sticking to familiar territory the fanbase prefers. Under the right conditions, yeah, these characters excel at dealing with the situation. Like asking a electrician to fix some wires. Under others they'd struggle.

I'm new in Touhou franchise thought this video is old, oh god I never realize how strong the Touhou universe is. In fact it's more stronger than I thought. Sure it's not the most or one of the most hardcore universes in Gaming, but Christ, their so strong! It's one of the strongest/powerful *(If not "the most powerful")* universes in Videogame franchises ever.

I feel like Flandre would be stronger than Remilia, since in the Flandre stage basically everyone is freaking out that Flandre has escaped, and the only reason why Flandre was imprisoned (sort of) was because she listened to her sister. Also she has the power to destroy...

That's a really good list. Something that I noticed that's really cool in TouHou, is how most characters have absurdly overpowered abilities but are canonically limited by spellcard rules: pretty much like Kurapika's nen ability in Hunter x Hunter

ok points 1-its not on order to all the people on comments 2- Zun knows and also doesnt knows what he does, so every chars here its broken as hell, one proof is mokou thats off the list but still broken in many levels. so here funny things i heared and readed apparently Kasen's arm is her true nature, Ibuki Douji, an oni that together with yukari in ancient times made a massacre in yokai and humans. To make matters worse Kasen doesn't remember much because she suppressed that past but onis like Suika Ibuki and Yuugi, KNOW and were present at the time, but hide the secret Reimu's skill was confused by Marisa as Manipulation/Dominion of souls, but then Reimu says that even she doesn't know how it works, which is a fact, the fantasy Seal are spheres of aura in themselves but their elimination properties, critical strike, damage to beings without physiology, cannot be explained. so Reimu's convenient "ability to fly" power really makes her a transcendental being in human form. Yuuka is still the strongest character in gensokyo solo, even with eiki arriving at times, she is mother nature and together with eiki who is the doomsday they make contrasts to the beginning of times and end of times but yuuka still has the advantage of being a GENOCIDE which she admitted in the PC-98 era, even though she is retired today, she remembers reimu and even makes fun of her indirectly teasing her Yukari claims that she is not capable of defeating Yuuka,in addition to confirming not being able to put a bondary on rumia's skills that are not darkness but EMPTY NULL(mostly void) Toyohime does not have the powers as expressed as her sister Yorihime and even with her calm nature she is able to WIN her sister easily, being the strongest creature on the moon (but a lazy girl) Toyohime already made Yukari cry, and Yukari is incapable of causing her any damage. the Sigma Eye in the PC-98 era despite having a weak creator, is still one of the strongest characters in the series Sara, as much as she has NO information about her, she is dated as the 3rd strongest creature in makai the habitants of makai should not be on the top 15 list with the exception of Shinki the creator of the place, who despite losing to yuuka in seconds she is an extremely strong creature that was exiled for makai context it is a type of hell being the only one not dominated by Yuyuko, Hecatia, or Eiki (which ironically is subordinate to Hecatia), anyway this hell has no real definition of time, space, distance, depth, or any logical concept, exemple: you try to take a step and go back 8, try to take 2 and go back 3 try 3 and go back 1, and again try 3 and go back 17 some define this dimension as the Lag dimension and yes, all the characters that passed and walked in that place without problems, transcended it Hecatia is the strongest character in the series, she let herself be placed under the spell rules and still plays with the situation using childish behavior, she, in addition to the three bodies, is capable of being "omnipotent" in obvious ways, she has the power to BE ABOVE EVIL as well as her representatives and beings, but that enters the concept of evil which is a misconception created by the human mind since right and wrong don't really exist, they are points of view, which makes hecatia superior to anything subjugated wrong(and let's be honest everything is wrong depending on the point of view)by the way touhou 15 was created inspired by "I Wanna Be The Guy" which explains the absurd power level of the characters, and yes ZUN was probably drunk. The power of most characters are mythological and exactly why the spell rulles exists, and even with this limitation there are beings like Flandre who have no limits on their abilities. curiosity about Yuuka, she is a type of Saitama in physical strength but is like a slug in speed (no flying) so much so that it has a Spell that is literally a PUNCH, because she is so aggressive that she hits whoever she Likes(thats really love here) but as a Spell Card it cannot kill (this is not in games, so people leave alive and still alive on lore except one character in PC-98 era) so she abuses the Spell system to not kill who she has feelings for while punching. Now ending the long comment, Touhou is one of the most difficult universes to measure power precisely because everyone is extremely strong and loses to others even though they are superior in power on immeasurable levels, or lower on immeasurable levels, and of extra curiosity, outside of its verse the characters don't need to follow the spell rules... so if they are already strong... they get even more at MANY LEVELS ABOVE.

For Junko having a tragic backstory she was a real badass for teaching the arrogant lunarians who's boss

14:35 thats like a small fraction of her background. to add some more details to her arc: Yuyuko's entire purpose in life (as a Priestess) was to seal away the Saigyou Ayakashi (thanks to her terrifying power), the evil Youkai Tree that claimed hundreds, prolly thousands of lives. She sealed the tree using her life as the seal itself. Therefore the tree never killed again. I suppose the "sealing" is considered a "suicide" for this case. Yuyuko later was "freed" from the tree by Yukari [with the help of Ran and Youki], but I guess "revived" seems more accurate as shes a corpse inside that tree. Being free from the tree (with some negative side effects*), Yuyuko gain a part of the tree's power in addition to her own. Then later as the video pointed out, she was appointed control of the Netherworld by the Yama herself. Yama claimed Yuyuko's ability would be wasted if she judged her. It was said Yuyuko was depressed while alive but now happy after death (like a completely different person*). From my PoV, she died a hero... and also lived to become an Antagonist (not a Villain) LOL! 14:45 Makes sense giving the nature of the Netherworld, or well, the definition of "Purity" in Gensokyo's terms. 16:35 about her being a vampire hunter? also didnt Reimu and Marisa stopped aging as well? 19:25 i had to pause this vid just to go read the final chapters of WaHH cuz i didnt know it was out, glad i did. i cant say i was spoiled 1st cuz i kinda knew already.

I only played one of these games but I never knew how strong these characters are, and it sounds interesting as hell

My thoughts on some characters from the list are that they were chosen more because they are popular than actually strong : Aya, Sakuya, but also Flandre, Yuyuko, Remilia. Yukari, Okina, Hecatia, Junko, Reimu, Eiki, Watatsukis are definitely fine though. I would have added Doremy (ruler of the Dream World), Eirin (mentor of the Watatsukis, made Hourai and Ultramarine Orb elixirs), and obviously the Dragon God. And then the three onis, Yuuka and one of other the character you mentionned probably (or a PC-98 one, and maybe Keiki ? she can creates idols and that's like creating life/gods).

Reimu's power is essentially the ability to defy any force, even gravity, so when her power ramps up to its fullest, she is impossible to defeat. However, her ability to defeat _others_ has been shown to have a limit, as Yuuma could eat anything thrown at her and grow stronger from it, so defeating Yuuma required Flandre's ability to destroy absolutely anything.

Funny enough this list is pretty accurate to some degree. Like if we take powerful as in who would literally be the most powerful some characters would be removed from the list. Most notably Remilia, Flandre, and Yuuka. As well as Aya. Hecatia Watasuki sisters (including both in one spot) Junko Eirin Sagume Kaguya Doremy Tenshi Yorigamis Yukari/Okina Eiki Kasen Eternity Reimu Sanae (Not in order besides the first two.) This isn't exactly 100% but from my research and info gathered from people who know the series more than me. That's the rough idea.

A friend of mine keeps saying superman and goku are strongest. I show them touhou characters that have abilties far more powerful and that are stupidly overpowered. The strongest touhou character can't really be defined. Some can just destroy things at will or has extreme skill in what they do. some can just simply erase life if they wanted to.

I always thought that Remilia never had that ability to manipulate fate, and just bluffed to appear as powerful as her sister. I never thought of her not using it because the Spellcard Rules prevent it! It makes sense, since the rules prevent people and yokai from using their full power unless it's a true life-and-death situation. I'm surprised I never thought of it, since I always thought that was why you could beat Sakuya...

Honestly remilia could be stronger then flan if her ability ranges well. If she can change some bodies fate into like dying in a millisecond then that's pretty broken. Or like making her self stronger using it. Like making her fate into being able to break spell card rules in the next hour. Or maybe making herself as immortal as the houraix immortals by changing her fate into find a bottle of the elixir. That's probably how she kept flan in line. By changing her fate into not being able to destroy herself, remila , patchouli, sakuya, Meiling and such. It would make sense if it did since she is a final boss.

About yukari ability, is there a limit for her to open the gap? (If there's not she can easily defeat Suika) Also when she try to pull people half way and close it (is it possible) what will happen?

i wanna see a powerscale video on touhou characters, there's so many quantities of power and ways to use spell cards. Sakuya can manipulate time with little to zero restraint! for example, more? reimu has a ability to float where she's bacily activate ultra Instinct but somehow better. and Flandere can destroy anything she wants to. A LITTLE VAMPIRE GIRL CAN DESTROY ANYTHING, as vague as the powers seems , take flans ability literally. flan could probably destroy berrus.

Yukari once launched an ivasion into the moon and was repelled. This points to the fact that she is not all powerfull. She's also one of the youkai who made the Gensokyo barrier for the sake of yokai and various gods not disappearing. If she was truly capable manipulating baundries of all of reality, then she could have simply made all gods and youkai self sufficent.
