Luis Resto’s gloves should’ve been ranked way higher! That wasn’t just cheating; it was a criminal offense. That was like hitting someone with bricks; assault with a deadly weapon. I’ll agree with comments I’ve read elsewhere on here about the documentary. It’s very good. Resto was devastated by the actions he and Panama Lewis were found guilty of. Lewis was truly a bad man. He showed virtually no remorse for what he did, including using illegal substances in water to add agility for his boxers.

Luis Restos gloves didn't just have the padding removed he also had plastered them!!! Absolutely insane!

All flopping or faking an injury should be penalized. No matter the sport.

What they failed to mention from the Collins-Resto fight, was that not only did Resto have padding removed from his gloves, he also had his hand wraps dipped in plaster of Paris. The poor kid was basically hit by bricks for 10 rounds. Beyond tragic story, RIP Billy Ray Collins.

Re: “I made a mistake.” No, they did not make mistakes. Their plans to cheat were carried out successfully. The mistake was not concealing their illegal substance or action from the view of officials.

I know rugby isn’t big in North America, but you can’t put into words how big of a scandal the blood capsule in the Harlequins v Leinster match was. Most of the cheating listed seemed to have been the decision of one or two players, but Bloodgate was a tactic orchestrated by the management and rocked the sport of rugby, leading to substitution laws being changed

I think what is more disgusting by this is how little to no punishment was applied to these cheaters.

Billy Ray Collins, the boxer, didn't "pass away" in a car accident. It was basically suicide. His life spiralled and his last words before that fateful trip was that he was going out to die.

When I was a kid we went to at least one mlb game a year and batting practice was always my favorite part because I could easily get close to the players and try to talk to them. I could never get a player to even look at me except once. It was the Rangers vs Cubs. I was a massive cub fan. I was screaming at everyone and couldn’t get any attention. All of a sudden Sosa walked out. I was star struck but knew if I couldn’t get the B team players to look at me he was going to be impossible. So instead I just yelled Sup Sammy! And that was it. He walked straight to me. For a 9 year old cub fan that was such an awesome experience. Much respect for that man.

The Australian cricket team scandal was just disgusting. Not only did it ruin the image of our country's extremely talented team, but the players (David Warner in particular,) didn't even look sorry. His crocodile tears at the press conference were laughable at best, and it really showed the "we're better than everyone because we're sports stars" mentality. Also while Bancroft was the one who cheated, it was pretty obvious that Warner (Vice-Captain,) and Smith (Captain,) were the ones who orchestrated it and convinced Bancroft to do it.

Regarding the badminton cheating at the Olympics, this is an design problem, not a player problem. Players use a strategy to gain an advantage. There is no cheating here.

I recall a baseball game fairly recently (can't remember when exactly, nor between who) where two outfielders both went to catch a deep flyball near the rear wall, and they ended up colliding with each other so hard one was knocked unconscious and had to be carried off the field. The cheating occurred when the other got up, noticed his buddy lying unmoving next to the ball, and quickly stuffed the ball into his unconscious buddy's glove (all caught on camera) and tried to claim his buddy caught it before they collided. No one bought it, natch.

You missed two good ones. The first is Albert Belle who used to play for the Cleveland Indians. He was a power hitter whose numbers went up drastically one year and after hitting a ball the umpires were suspicious and took his bat to be checked out and locked it in the umpire's dressing room. While the game was going on one of Albert's teammates climbed through the ceiling tiles and dropped into the umpire's dressing room and replaced Albert's bat with one of their own. This however was found out. The other one was the woman who won the Boston Marathon. I don't remember her name but it turns out that she took the subway to a stop not far from the finish line after starting the race with everyone else and then ran across to finish in first place. She was awarded as the winner until people started questioning how no one saw her past them for much of the course.

How did you guys forget this cheater. Rosie M. Vivas was a Cuban-American fraudster who was declared the winner in the female category for the 84th Boston Marathon in 1980, only to have her title stripped eight days after the race when it was discovered that she had not run the entire course. She cheated to win. There was interview after she raced. She didn't understand the racing terminologies the analyst was saying.

Louie not only didnt have padding, but he had dipped his wraps in plaster of paris or whatever its called, and basically made his gloves bricks. He was pounding that guy with gloves with insides literally as hard as a rock.

I remember so much about the McSorley stick, because I was 12 and live near Montreal, the year the Canadiens won the cup !

It sucks when you get caught so is it worth it, don`t cheat! Also Astro their wins will always be in people's minds as suspicious and will always be a scar on their achievements.

Just a reminder that Pineda and Will Smith were suspended for more games than the players on the Astros that used systematic cheating to win a World Series.

In South Africa, we have an annual race that I think is the world's oldest ultra-marathon (more than 42 kilometers). It alternates from Pietermaritzburg to Durban and vice versa, and is around 90 kilometers long. One year sort of recently a runner from the Eastern Cape finished in the top ten, earning, I don't know, 5 or 10 thousand dollars, or something like that. It turns out he was alternating with his twin whenever he took a port-a-potty break.

I remember that game with Pineda because I'm a Sox fan and watched that game. It had been something that had happened throughout the series and that was the final straw. I mean he literally had it all over the side of his neck. It looked like gravey and his claims that he just made a mistake was complete crap! He came out with it after the teams were warned not to do it. Sox/Yankees games are pretty intense and this moment was completely hysterical. (After that some of the fans dubbed him PineTar Pineda.)

Someone who won fairly but is said to have cheated is Brad Keselowski. He actually got his win fairly, and Carl Edwards was just in Brad's way and tried blocking, but it was no use. He crashed and Keselowski got the victory.

I used to be kinda blasé about ‘cheating’ until I went to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and I was surprised by own reaction to the history of people so devoted to the sport, they worked other jobs to keep playing. That clarity and devotion changed my cynicism about the cheating.

I think Germaine de Randamie should be on this list for hitting Holly Holm after the bell in two consecutive rounds when they fought in the UFC. I've watched many MMA fights and hits after the bell rarely happen, to have it happen twice in one fight, with really hard shots, with no point penalty, and then have Holly barely lose the fight on the judges score cards, where even just one penalty for the second offence would have turned the tide? I can't see it as anything but unpunished cheating where the cheater won.

It is argued that the damage inflicted by Luis Resto was in part responsible for his opponent's death in the car crash.

Every person that is caught cheating like what we have seen here, needs to be PERMANENTLY banned from any games. They are cheats and should be treated harshly. There is a LOT of money changing hands with these high-rolling games. But, athletes are a privileged group and get away with way more than the every day person on the street.

The people of Ireland still hasn't forgiven Thierry Henry for cheating. People from other countries said "well France is more entertaining than Ireland anyway. Its better to have them at the world cup". France went on and didn't win a single game and were knocked out at the group stage.... entertaining. CHEATS!
