lady I grew up with the tinker bell stuff(I even played Pixie Hollow when it was still up). I did also play Club Penguin as well. heck! I grew up with animated Disney films before going over to the MCU. reason being I was actually terrified of Live action films because of Jim Carrey's The Grinch. Seriously whenever I see that, I go and try and hide or get that out of my sight. I was actually at Universal Orlando park and me, my mom, my cousin(same age about), my younger cousin, and my grandmother were in the Dr Seuss land, and they had that movie playing in a shop and I went to hide in the clothes. luckily my mom realized and took me out of the shop. same thing happened with thanksgiving of last year, we were at my grandmother's house for thanksgiving dinner and me and my mom and one male(can't remember if it was dad or brother) were leaving and they had that version of the Grinch playing and I said "can we get out of here as soon as possible please?" and they had to change the movie, NOT JUST PAUSE IT, cuz of my fear of the movie. whenever I see that movie I think that the grinch is coming to get me, don't know why. plus the design of the grinch in that movie terrifies me.
Mulan is my favorite Disney animation of all time. All the songs to me deserve to be on this list. I was so disappointed (but not surprised to be) in the live action version.
The twist of this Mulan is not an actual princess nor is she a warrior princess either because you have to be a princess to begin with to be a warrior princess but she’s not born of royalty so therefore she’s not a princess Which begs the question why the hell is she on this list?! she shouldn’t be even though her song is pretty cool
*I Won’t Say I’m In Love* is probably my favorite Disney song ever. Everything about it from the performance, to the maturity of the topic, to Meg’s amazing character-it’s phenomenal. Show Yourself, Part of Your World, Almost There, and yes even Let It Go are my other faves.
For me, “Do The Next Right Thing” is quite an underrated Disney Princess song Elsa was technically dead and Anna didn’t know if she could go on without her sister Throughout the song, she implied she was suicidal (“hello,Darkness. I’m ready to succumb”), but gradually recovered to come to the conclusion that Elsa would want her to carry on 😃😃
Hands down, the most heartbreaking song in Disney Canon in my opinion. And that’s including “If I Can’t Love Her” and “Endless Night” from the Broadway shows. I unabashedly love that song.
I was OBSESSED with Pochontas when it first came out. Colors of the Wind continues to remain true even this day, such great messages. ''You think the only people who are people, are people who think and act like you. But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger, you'll learn things you never knew you never knew.'' ''Come roll in all the riches all around you, and for once never wonder what they're worth.'' ''We are alll connected to each other, in a circle, in a hoop that never ends.''
I’m SO glad that Megara’s “I Won’t Say” and Esmeralda’s “God Help The Outcasts” were included in this list. These ladies deserve more love and credit. They’re my favorite non-princesses. I love all the songs on this list. What can I say? I love my Disney.😁
I love the fact that Lea didn't just sing Fu Mulan's songs she also did the singing for Princess Jasmine in the animated version of Aladdin. She really is amazing.
Reflection By Fa Mulan,Let it go by Elsa,Colors of the wind by Pocahontas and Part in the world by Ariel they are the most iconic and prettiest songs ever of Princess of Disney world
@@mrcoolguy2882 honestly its such a powerful song as it goes from soft and tender to vibrant and majestic showing the true beauty of nature, and how much she loves nature. Plus the visuals are amazing, especially the part she’s drawn in different colors instead and the deer spirits are jumping with them.
I completely agree. when I first watched the movie, I didn't like it very much and instead liked into the unknown, which is a good song, but after time show yourself just grew on me. I think into the unknown is just more easily receipted for some reason. this reply ended up being longer than I wanted it to be
@@aj-ic7su I get it. Into the Unknown is designed to be that catchy “I want” number that draws you in.” This isn’t saying that it’s bad, not in the slightest, just that it’s supposed to be the one that gets stuck in your head. Personally I always preferred “Show Yourself” from the start, but I really enjoy “Into the Unknown” too
And to think these songs are only 1 of the many things that make these Disney princesses so memorable, in fact in my opinion their singing is one of their best traits and or talents!!!
Personally, Mulan has the BEST main songs out of all Disney films. "I'll Make A Man Out of You" and "Reflection" are too iconic and amazing to not be top 10 all Disney film songs (yes I know this was just singles and not multiples, but I stand by my words)
"Colors of the Wind" is gorgeous! If only people could appreciate Pocahontas as a fantastic fantasy film rather than an inaccurate depiction of history--though I understand why people have negative feelings towards it.
I agree! Honestly its so sad it got so much hate and criticism because its not “historically accurate” I mean did they honestly expect Disney to show her either already married and her husband was killed and she married a questionable white man, not to mention her father refused to trade for her, or she was originally 11 or so, not to mention John Smith according to some articles was actually a pervert? I remember watching on either the Lion King or Aladdin VHS the promo Colors of the Wind, and it was so beautiful 🥺 I ABSOLUTELY HATED part 2: the New World, it can burn in h*ll. She’s actually my favorite princess with Rapunzel and Kida
@@kristinahuchison2511 I think it’s more so that they shouldn’t have made it at all. “Pocahontas” was a real person and romanticizing her story and making the guy who essentially kidnapped her into her consensual love interest is a gross choice. It’s not that they didn’t tell the story accurately so much as that they took a very tragic story and made a cute romance, while simultaneously removing any and all nuance or cultural context from it.
Exactly!!! Honestly I don't see anything wrong with it. She was wronged as a very young child and when I discovered the true story I Honestly felt sad. I respect what Pocahontas went through but I see the movie as a much deserved life for the young princess. It's like knowing someone suffered and it makes me feel comforted for her in a way? I can’t Exactly explain it without someone somewhere finding it offensive but I just feel the movie gives her a happier ending she deserved 🤍 that's how I see it.
@@ibezekiel1004 As Native Americans get more positive representation in the media, I think Pocahontas won't be as maligned. I hope Disney makes a fantasy musical with another NA lead.
Everytime I hear Part of Your World I immediately transform into my ten year old self seeing this movie for the first time on the big screen. Love that movie!
Naomi Scott did a great job as Jasmine in the live action Aladdin, especially during her song Speechless. I wonder what Lea Salonga (the voice actress for Jasmine in Aladdin) would sound like if she sang her own version Speechless
@Growing Up With Disney You probably already know this, but I'll just remind you that Lea Salonga (who I am also such a huge fan of) was only the singing voice of Princess Jasmine. Linda Larkin was (and still is) the voice actress/the speaking voice for Jasmine. Lea Salonga only provided her beautiful singing voice to Princess Jasmine and Mulan, but she wasn't the voice actress of these two characters. She recorded only the singing.
Lea did a remake of it when she was on the news her and the voice of Aladdin they were grown and it sounded mature they should have just use the original voices it was still beautiful you can find it on RU-vid
@@nalisspriggs7981 Yeah, I honestly don't get why it's on here at all if this list is STRICTLY about Disney Princesses. Don't get me wrong, it's a great song for sure, but still...
It would be nice for Disney to do some more myths and legends from different cultures. Obviously they'd have to tread carefully, but Moana was respectful to Polynesian culture in most ways. Most Polynesian cultures and languages are similar, just sort of taking on something a little different with each country (even in Hawaii, they have the same word for love as Maori, "aroha"), so they managed it okay. I think, really, it's time for a princess who's modern in a new way. Are any princesses allowed to wear something other than dresses (I know Jasmine doesn't wear a dress, but I think that's just culture)? What DO princesses do nowadays? I'd like to see a folktale or myth from another culture with a modern twist on what it means to be a princess in today's world.
@@strawberrysoulforever8336 Raya and The Last Dragon tried to do that with South East Asian Culture. Also btw Princess and the Frog has, in my opinion, the best overall soundtrack of any Disney musical... every song is phenomenal
Almost there by Tiana is the coolest and prettiest song in all the time of Tiana when we can see her singing to complete his dreams to open the restaurant
Eh I don’t think anyone who has watched Frozen would under appreciate Anna. Anna was the heroine in Frozen, that’s why Elsa was involved a lot more in Frozen 2, even suffered temporary death.
“The next right thing” Anna, Frozen II (Kristen Bell) This song is arguably one of the most powerful and moving songs in the movie next to “show yourself“. It starts when Anna has hit rock bottom after losing both her sister Elsa, and Olaf. She doesn’t know where Kristof is and she’s completely alone without knowing what to do. It expresses the struggles people face when they feel that they have lost everything including a reason to keep going forward. The song ends with anna managing to pick her self up and stand for herself if no one else and do “the next right thing“ which is all she can, and must, do. Not a traditional princess song but is compared to “ reflection“ where Mulan is singing about disgracing her family and not knowing what to do going forward.
I feel the same way, I feel bad that Hunchback is one of the most underdog disney movies that not a lot merchandise people have, and I think it's one of the most iconic disney movies that we can relate to inside and out.
I agree, considering it was based on her trying to get out of an arranged marriage, considering it was quite obvious she’d never be happy Kocuom. I feel the true reason she fell for John Smith is because he is the complete opposite and was nothing she could’ve ever imagined. Not to mention she’s actually the only princess who unfortunately doesn’t get a happily ever after, but she’s so wise and compassionate. Honestly the ending breaks my heart every time because they’re my favorite couple
I love all of these songs!!!! I just love that most(if not all of these songs) of them have a great message and meaning. And they are just fun to sing along to.
I never understood why Anna couldn’t leave the castle too, she didn’t have any powers or anything, that part of Frozen doesn’t make that much sense (along with Anna having to get her memory erased and many plot points of Frozen)
I felt that she didn't leave bc she wanted to experience the world with her sister. And then after their parents died, she was grieving and didn't see her life past it.
Probably because they were limiting the number of people who at risk and the royal children had to stay nearby. Though why they never arranged a play date for her with the noble kids is beyond me.
Part on your world by Princess Ariel is the coolest and cutest song ever of Ariel the little mermaid when we can see Ariel singing his cutest song in the scenes
It's a gear song, and it almost didn't make it into the movie! Some thought the song slowed down the movie, so they almost cut it! Thank goodness they changed their minds
# 7's "I won't say (I'm in love) by Susan Egan as Megara is truly one of my favorite Disney songs ever. Not only did I love all of Disney as a child, the Wide World of Disney every weekend, but as a grown-old adult(now 54) I still enjoy the joy and and happiness that is created in their incredible animated features and hold their songs in my heart.
I remember being mesmerized by “Let It Go” the first time I heard it. The lyrics and the vocal performance captivated me. I was in disbelief that it was in a Disney movie 😂
Here’s the list: 20.) I’m Wishing - Snow White 19.) I Wonder - Sleeping Beauty 18.) Just Around The River Bend - Pocahontas 17.) Do You Wanna Build A Snowman - Frozen 16.) Love Disney songs and love Part of your world. It’s my favourite song and film although I think speechless and show yourself should be placed higher as they both make me happy cry.
The title of the video should be "top 20 best Disney heroine songs of all time" because some are not officially disney princesses like Meg and Esmeralda.
And "Almost There" by Tiana from Princess and The Frog is my fav Disney princess song ever💜💚... I'm a natural soprano so I love singing it anyway☺️. Fun fact: I was 21 when it came out and my boyfriend bought me the DVD lol....
Watching this list once on my iPad & once again on my phone, I truly believe that a lot of songs on this list are the best Princess songs of all time. I just wish that there were at least 4 or 5 honorable mentions.
MY LIST:😁😁 1- Do you wanna build a snowman 2- God help the outcasts 3- For the first time in forever 4- Let it go 5- How far I'll go 6- When will my life begin 7- Part of your world 8- Colors of the wind 9- Show yourself 10- Almost there
Okay, I’m sorry this is a little long but, I love sharing this experience I got to have. If you have ever been to Disney during the summer you know they have HS choirs and bands performing there everyday as part of their musical program. Before they moved all the choir performances to down town Disney they did them at Magic Kingdom right by the castle. Each choir gets to perform 2 different Disney songs. My HS did under the sea and part of your world. For part of your world a single performer does some of the opening and a few other solo parts throughout the song. You have to try out for it if you want it. I was lucky enough to be selected to sing the solo parts of Ariel. It is truly one of my greatest moments as a performer. It may not seem like a big deal and i am sure not a single person beyond my choir and people from our school even noticed some high school kid singing as Ariel while they were walking to their next ride. The stage they used wasn’t directly on the castle steps but it was right by there so basically I got to live out my childhood dream of singing as Ariel while in Disney World. Unfortunately, it was before smart phones were super advanced and no one got a good recording of it. The park always recorded the performances for the school but you could not duplicate the copy so there was no way for me to get a copy of it for myself. Although I wish I had a copy of it I will never forget how amazing it felt being in the park, one of my favorite places on earth, and being able to sing one of the songs from my childhood. The shows no longer happen at Magic Kingdom, they are done at Down Town Disney now which is kind of a bummer for all the schools who get selected to go down to Disney and perform but it’s still a really cool program. You get to work with the Disney park character/show performance coach’s. They help train all the cast members to do the musical numbers for shows as well as meet and greats or whenever a character needs to perform. A lot of people think it’s just for theatre kids to go to Disney World over the summer but it truly is a lot more than that. I could be totally wrong but it felt to me like the coach’s and performers really enjoyed this part of their job and loved working with the schools selected to perform. It isn’t just something your school signs up for, your school has to try out and just because your school has previously performed doesn’t give them an automatic bid for the next year. I looked into trying to work for Disney at one point but my life went down a different path. I would still love to work for them but, I just don’t see it happening. Unless I get a job as a shop assistant as a little old lady after I retire. Just something to do for my love of Disney. I actually got to meet the sweetest woman ever on my honeymoon with my hubby in 2019. We were doing some shopping on Main Street in Magic Kingdom and this kind older lady saw our honeymoon badges so she came over to congratulate us on getting married. We chatted for a bit and we got on the subject of what I was looking for in the store. I told her a Minnie Mouse hoodie to replace the one I had got when I came down for my school trip 15 years prior. She helped me find the perfect one and as I was about go check out she asked me to try it on to make sure it fit. Before I knew it she reached up and grabbed the tag and took it off, telling me it was now mine. Mind you this was not a cheap hoodie. It was around $50 maybe more. She told me she was Walt Disney that day and this was her gift to me as a present. I am sure workers are allowed to stuff like that but for small stuff less than 20 or so. I am sure she probably paid for the jacket out of her own pocket. We never said anything like we were having a bad experience or we were tight on money, she was just incredibly kind and sweet and wanted to bring a little joy to a newlywed couple she had never met. It is something I will never forget. I still remember her name and where her badge says she is from. We go to Disney every 3-4 years (except for during covid obviously) so I hope she is still working there when we go back for our trip in March 2022 for my 30th birthday (at least that’s what the plan is as long as Covid is finally under control and it is safe to travel, fingers crossed it is). If you read this far down I commend you. I don’t ever expect anyone to read my entire comment, I use the comment section as my own public journal lol. Bless you and your family! I hope you are happy and healthy. Don’t forget to drink lots of water and take care of yourself. You are a bad ass and you can accomplish anything! Go slay the day!
1) Reflection 2) I Won't Say I'm in Love 3) Let It Go 4) Into the Unknown 5) Show Yourself 6) Part Of Your World 7) I Wonder 8) A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes 9) Colors of the Wind 10) Somebody My Prince Will Come
I'm disappointed that Giselle is not a Disney princess, I know why, it's because she turns live-action, but what about her animated version?! Also I won't say I'm in love might just be the most underrated Disney song of all time
I never really noticed but I always wondered what a Disney Princess would be like if she was put into real life, it’s kinda cool that Disney did that with Enchanted
"Part of Your World" is THE "I Want" song; it's the building block for everything that followed. Snow White may have been the OG, but Snow walked so Ariel could get legs and run
MsMojo: no duets Also MsMojo: For the first time in forever + show yourself Which I missed: - where do I go from here (Pocahontas II) - Into the unknown (instead of show yourself) - The next right thing (instead of for the first time...) Loved the others tho!!
I’m Wishing I Wonder Just Around the Riverbend Speechless God Help the Outcasts True Love’s Kiss Someday My Prince Will Come A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes I Won’t Say I’m in Love Almost There Colours of the Wind Reflection Part of Your World Those songs are gold, classic, and timeless.
Princess Aurora is and will always be my favorite Disney Princess, but all of these women have such beautiful voices, every entry on this list is so good. I hope the Princess “I want,” song tradition continues, so kids will always know it’s okay to hope for their dreams.
In terms of Value to the Character/Plot, I'd say colors of the wind and reflection are the most beautiful tracks In terms of pure music and Orchestration I can tell you that SHOW YOURSELF is undoubtedly Disney's biggest masterpiece with Speechless A solid number 2
I love Just Around the River Bend, but Colors of the Wind is so famous for a reason....it's absolutely incredible. But Pocahontas as a whole is so underrated
I agree! I remember watching Colors of the Wind promo on either Aladdin or the Lion King and absolutely fell in love with it! Honestly its visually the best with all the colors used and special effects! Especially the part Pocahontas is drawn in different colors is so majestic as it shows she’s a part of the spirit of nature! She’s my favorite princess and the story itself is in my top 5 EVER. Honestly I watch it every year! Also the fact the song isn’t about falling in love, but enlightening his eyes to the true beauty of nature is even more intense as he later on shows how horrified he feels about how he used to view anyone who wasn’t like him
