Made in Abyss should've been in this list come on, "Old Stories" "Tomorrow" "Hanezeve Caradhina" and "The Rumble of Scientific Triumph" are all masterpieces

Yuki Kaijura is truly a masterful artist, her talent peaked at Madoka Magica when every track hits so deep and become iconic. Can’t wait for her come back in the fourth movie this year.😊

Yoko Kanno is a legend! Along with Hiroyuki Sawano, and Kajiura Yuki! I love how they masterfully compose for every anime soundtrack and hitting the emotions just right!

Honestly, in my book Fairy tail is easily in the top 5 for anime soundtracks.

Pretty sure Hiroyuki Sawano isn't a person. Just a walking instrument that has pure hype running through its veins. That being said, Initial D's music is so good to listen to, it's almost dangerous. Especially when you get behind the wheel.

TBH here's my preferred list of the best Anime OST 1. Inuyasha 2. Fairy Tail 3. Bleach 4. The Seven Deadly Sins 5. Wolf's Rain 6. Sailor Moon 7. Detective Conan/Case Closed 8. Food Wars 9. Pokemon 10. Edens Zero

Okay, not putting Fullmetal on here is an actual crime. Both versions have some incredible tracks.

I love cowboy bebop’s soundtrack and initial D soundtrack 😊

Usually on lists like this I try not to come down too hard, but there were honestly too many glaring omissions to count on a list like this and a ton of them aren't even obscure anime and have lead composers who are universally well regarded for their work. Made in Abyss - Kevin Penkin: Hanezeve Caradhina, Gravity, Old Stories, The First Layer, etc... the music absolutely makes this series and makes the Abyss into a character in its own right. Baccano! - Yoshimori Makoto: Theme of Baccano!, Nen Mae Kara no Yuutsu, Akarenaga no Meikyuu, best Jazz in Anime that captures the setting and time period perfectly. Sword Art Online - Yuki Kaijura: Swordland, Luminous Sword, At Our Parting, Gunland, You Are Not Alone, Find Your Sword in this Land, these were the sword duel tracks to end all sword duel tracks and are absolutely iconic. Eighty-Six - Hiroyuki Sawano: Voices of the Chord, The Answer, Hear My Voice, sorry not sorry but this series had better music than Attack on Titan and the tracks are way more emotional and resonant. Violet Evergarden - Evan Call: The Voice in My Heart, Theme of Violet Evergarden, Never Coming Back, The Love that Binds Us, Across the Violet Sky, etc... the most emotionally resonant OST in any Anime. Feels like this score was written for film. Could also have placed Frieren here as well as another example of Call's genius.

Not surprised fairy tail didn’t make it at least it got an honorable mention with Naruto due to the same composer

I've been waiting for this list to finally happen! I was hoping to see Hiroyuki Sawano and Yoko Kanno soundtracks on this list, and I am very pleased that Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Cowboy Bebop, Kill La Kill, and Attack on Titan made it. Honorable mentions to Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Guilty Crown, Re:Creators, Promare, Wolf's Rain, Darker Than Black, and Visions of Escaflowne.

I need to know how Inuyasha didn’t make the list…as if it did not have a generation of kids waking up at 3am with emotions.

Yeah samurai champloo is one of the greatest soundtracks ever written.

Soundtracks that are missing in my opinion: Demon Slayer: Making Traditional music awesome. From Gurenge the opening, the action scenes, and the ending theme you got a soundtrack that symbolizes the Taisho era. Komi Can't Communicate: Personally, slice of life anime music is underrated and this is my favorite from the genre. You got Walking to School, To my First Friend, The Heart of Communication, and of course, Cinderella, the opening theme. This is one reason I want people to watch this series. The music selection here will want you to see it yourself. Code Geass: I only see reaction to the show but it's enough for me to say it's a top 3 Anime OST. This captured the rebellion aspect for the show and shows that I can pass it limits. Definitely show watch the show in full to understand the OST.

Inuyasha's soundtrack by Kaoru Wada is memorable.

If Berserk wasn’t number one I was gonna scream. But you left off anime like Aldnoah. Zero, Seraph of the End, Chrome Shelled Regious, Claymore… all of these have excellent soundtracks. And can’t forget Akira. Oh, and can’t forget Modoka Magica.

If made I abyss is not on here I will unsubscribe. Like it's in my opinion the best ost of all time as it is so much part of the series identity and add just so much to the series. I give you a pass for Berserk at 1 but no made in abyss really is a shame, the ost and its quality is literally what sold many on the show and help it when it first started air get attentions. The ost is genuinely one of my favorites pieces of music ever and im a massive music guy.

I'm sorry dude but I have to say it, Hunter x Hunter 1999 version has a much superior soundtrack to the 2011 version, seriously the feeling that the music transmits is unmatched

Devilman crybaby, naruto, and alot of these are some my favorites for sure. Made in abyss and erased have really good osts. Definitely deserve a listen.

One Piece definitely fits right up there. The type of background music you hear fits with such the romantic adventure type of story and especially with the epic drama scenes and fight scenes. Also, what if I told you Kouhei Tanaka was the guy who did the background music of G Gundam?

Pleasantly surprised to see Beyblade get some recognition but sorry Dragon Ball Z's best soundtrack belongs to the Bruce Faulconer version. Super Saiyan's transformation 1 & 3 are god tier

i have an argument for something that should be on here, even if the anime was confusing and hard to follow. Mekuka City Actors. that anime, based on the Kagerou Project music series, had been such a popular group of songs telling a story that it spawned an entire franchise of manga, anime, and light novels, each of which is it's own separate time loop of the story, and the music is so good on it's own that they're some of the few songs i keep on my playlist of music even now. while not top of the list, i say it deserves to be at least in the top ten

The anime soundtracks that I listen to and have on my phone are Fairy Tail, including 2014 series and the Final Series soundtacks, Kill la Kill, My Hero Academia (think only have like the first 2 season soundtrack), Edens Zero, Sword Art Online, oh and Yugioh 5Ds Japanese soundtrack not the 4kids crap. Not only do I have the soundtracks, but I have the opening and ending songs as well for those said series.

If we're being honest, considering even MHA is on the list, One Piece should have more tracks on this list

Clannad/clannad after story not being mentioned must be a crime, it’s way better than any soundtrack of any shounen anime. Every single song of the soundtrack is a masterpiece.

Completely wrong in my opinion, but then the greatest anime soundtrack is from an anime that goes beyond the scope of mainstream modern anime. Nothing, and I mean nothing, has ever come close to the amazing soundtrack of Bubblegum Crisis. 8 episodes of incredible music with such diverse styles of songs and music. It was so beloved during its time that every single episode had its own cd release just for the music. It made stars of the voice actors, lead to concerts, and even full video releases based solely on the songs. They even went so far to translate and re-record them into English, and they are still fantastic songs.

Jojo should be top 5 for The Pillar Men theme alone.

I grew up on Beyblade. Finding physical media of it these days though is nigh impossible. I'm lucky I found 3 volumes that are still goods in second-hand stores and got volume 11, all season 1, back when my family and I were in Queensland for a vacation in the early 2000s. I really need to get a CD for My Hero Academia's soundtrack. And, I'll probably get hate for this, but I prefer the 4kidz dub soundtrack for One Piece over the original. I grew up on the 4kidz dub, so hearing the other version always feels a bit off for me, the 4kidz dub soundtrack more ingrained into my brain due to how long it was the only version I had for years
