My Girl doesn’t get anywhere near enough respect. It’s a phenomenal early 90s drama that understands both adult relationships and kid logic. For me, it’s Macauley Culkin’s best role. The casting overall is amazing and for her first starring role, Anna Chlumsky gives an amazing performance. I had a huge crush on her back then and to this day, she gives a believable performance. It’s one of those forgotten movies that was such a hit that it spawned a sequel 3 years later. I wish they made it a trilogy. The late 80s early 90s saw a lot of excellent, underappreciated movies. Probably because of their darker moments and that era is known today for light, goofy stuff.

Macauly was chilling in the Good Son. But yes, I would actually rate this one as #2 or #1. Though if they were doing animals... Old Yeller would be right up there.

I was a kinda morbid kid since my dad died badly when I was just a little girl. This movie let me know I wasn't out on that ledge figuring out grief and who I was alone. I felt the visceral dark pain that ONLY a survivor knows when she was crying for Thomas J at his funeral.

It’s gonna hard for a movie to ever beat John Coffey’s execution because the build-up to it is so masterfully done, and it’s a film where there are no bad performances in it. Nearly 25 years on, and it still never leaves a dry eye in the house. Michael Clarke Duncan should have won the Oscar for this role.

@@naimac1015 Yeah he was good as Spidy I just wish his movies were more faithful to the original. His "Mary Jane" was a real downer and race swapped if they were going to change her completely why didn't they just make her a different character I mean she isn't even a red head plus they gave him Mile Morales best friend it's weird. But the actor who play Spiderman was great he did a good job but I think he was done dirty with all the changes in his films not allowing him to show his full potential but I 100% agree watching him die was the hardest because he was just so great a being a genuine Peter Parker.

@questcre8r what's worse is the story is basically what happened to the writer. He was the only one left to look after an infant sister, but being a kid, he would eat all the food and hit her to shut her up. She died of the abuse and malnutrition. The entire story was written as an apology to his sister and he was depressed and suicidal over it for the rest of his life.

@@legendarynaga that sadly doesn’t surprise me. We can’t exactly be angry with him as a child doesn’t know how to raise another child, but even if we somehow had the audacity to do so, living with that guilt is punishment enough.

Out of the Harry Potter deaths you chose the least "emotional one" i think. If i were to rank them, it would be Sirius Black, Snape (with later context), Dobby, Cedric because of Cedric dad reaction mainly and last Dumbledore. There are also many deaths that happened off screen like Fred Weasley and Lupin and Tonks.

To further add to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix...Daniel's screams were so gut wrenching they had to mute it for several cast and crew members as well as put a pause on filming. Remus laying dead with Tonks hit me harder than any of the deaths in the prior two films. The poor guy had such an awful and short life for the suffering her endured out of the cruelty of others. The MCU is not the same without Chadwick, Chris Evans, and RDJ. There are still good actors, but it is not the same.
@shantellakaladypersephone8671
FACTSSSS ALL AROUND! Sirius Black, I was in love with him since The Prisoner of Azkaban in the original hardback in the 90s. My 12th grade Physice teacher dressed often and taught us in the style of Hogwarts, as he was avidly reading the books as well. The fact that Gary Oldman ( a PHENOMENAL actor), played him was just icing on the cake for me. I cried so hard at the premiere 😢

@@thedarkcriminal1658 it’s easy to say that when you’re in your warm home. Rose and Jack had adrenaline rushing through their bodies as well as swimming in freezing cold water after literally riding a sinking ship. All Jack was concerned about was keeping rose safe. Also, people need to take in account the buoyancy of the door. And again, they were in fight or flight mode. It’s not like they were in a pool on a pool float. Cut them some slack.

You missed two saddest death in John Singleton ( RIP) movies. First which I'm applauded that it didn't make the count Ricky in Boyz In Tha Hood and Jackie from Four Brothers both were the saddest but Ricky was the most saddest he was a high school athlete and teen dad he got killed over some dumb gang shit when he didn't done anything to them he didn't had a chance to look at his SAT letter after he was murdered. Jackie was gunned down in front of his brothers by a group of corrupted cops under a crime lord's payload who was responsible for his and his brother's adoptive mother's death
