Mr. Sebastian .. the yellow incense by Givenchy released again !.. Will you review the new formulation and compare it with the old formula? best wishes.. 🌹
The only salty one I own is Hermès Eau des Merveilles Bleue. It's similar to the original but that salty, blue, marine touch makes it more unisex. My husband and I both wear it 💙
I wasn't crazy about salty smells UNTIL Zoologist Squid! I was amazed by it and its stands by Bee and the Original Dragonfly as my top 3 Zoologist fragrances...I love it! I am curious about a few of these, especially BDK's Sel D' Argent and the following you spoke of - Saltifolia...They sound so, so nice. But, yeah, Squid - so good! I continue to adore Zoologist as one of my favorite fragrance houses EVER - and I look forward to YOU reviewing Sacred Scarab and Cockatiel...xoxox
The more I learn about fragrances, the more notes I love. 🧂 Creed Millesime Imperial is the first niche fragrance I got my husband. JHG Vanilla Vibes and Woodsage and sea salt are lovely too.
I struggle with salty fragrances as in sometimes something that’s considered salty I can’t really pick it out as salty 🤷♂️ but (and I’m assuming this is considered salty) Erolfa is my favourite fragrance of all time. The smell is just intoxicating.
I thought about it but really do not get the saltiness that some of the other fragrances I featured here had so I left it off but it's certainly marine for sure.
So funny you did this video today… Ellis Brooklyn Salt is my SOTD 🤣. It’s salty without really being explicitly “marine”. I love salty notes in fragrance though. Will have to check out a bunch of these I’m not familiar with!
Buenos dias, Sebastián. I have Pioggia Salata (salty rain) from Il Profumo! MINERAL Co. AQUA Marine! BATH Bodyworks Dance in the Rain and SALTWATER breeze. Looking to add some new ones from your review and fellow viewer likes. Ciao! Preparing a trip to Cancun tomorrow. I need to add salty and marine notes to some of the more feminine summer florals with coconut!
I wear Vainilla Vibes and Coleur Vanille a lot, love them😍 A feminine designer perfume ( apart from the Olympeas and Kenzo World Power) that is very salty and beachy is Dolce & Gabbana "Dolce Garden”,a bit heady and maybe synthetic for some but I find It addictive
Wood Sage and Sea is such a gentle yet lovely scent. I'm surprised to not see Oud Minerale posted here! Been wanting to check that one out - I think it may be the San Francisco scent I've been looking for - just needs a sourdoughiness and curbside excrement note to be complete. Thank You as always, Seb!
Great review! I grew up on the Long Island shore and adore true sea/salty notes. It can be an exhaustive search for female leaning perfumes. I just ordered a sample of the Kerosene scent you featured from Ministry of scents, a/k/a Tiger Lilly.
Squid is by far my favorite! I love salty notes some other favorites are Tom Ford Oud Minerale and Rive d’Ambre, Balmain Ambre Gris, Hermes L’ambre Des Merveilles, Smell Bent Smoked Ambergris, I’m sensing a pattern here lol. Demeter Salt Air, I just got Vacation which is fun especially since I live in Florida. Ellis Brooklyn Salt but only with a very light hand, which I think is a good rule for most salty scents. I get a salty vibes from a lot of vetivers in general. I feel like I’m forgetting some. Weirdly Vanilla Vibes was a No for me, love salt love vanilla but apparently not together at least in scent. 🤷🏻♀️ I’m interested in a few in your list Porthole and Wet Stone sound intriguing. Thanks for this video I loved it!
I have tried some of these, but would very much like to try more! I think salt is such an interesting note. Also, for other notes that we want to see videos of, I would love to see a video on eucalyptus. I like how it can be refreshing, but calming at the same time. I remember an oil of it being used in a yoga class once, and it was so relaxing, I really loved it. Would be great to find another fragrance like that, that would cut through the summer heat, but be relaxing at the same time.
I love salty fragrances !!! I find I'd pretty addictive. Except for vanilla vibes. It smells very synthetic, it's not the salt's fault ! The BDK one is amazing I need to put my nose on rose saltifolia !!!
Have not been able to find any salty fragrance yet, Sebastian. I have a small sample of Salt from Ellis Brooklyn and wasn’t too fond of it. Hopefully your list will help me find a tolerable one. Thank you for this vid.
I really like the salt note in fragrances, there are many from this list that I NEED to try! SEL DE VETIVER sounds very interesting. I like AQVA DI SALE, no problem with the marine notes, need to try SQUID. One that I find it very Salty, maybe the ambergris is Agonist Black Amber, not marine but very salty. I absolutely love WET STONE! Thank you Sebastian!!! Fantastic List!!!
NOTE SPOTLIGHT IDEA: liquorice/anise/fennel/tarragon. I know you mentioned it’s a favourite and I would love to find some more options as it’s not very common. Thanks Sebastian, love your reviews!
I love salty fragrances! I looked at the list quickly, but Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt appeared to be the only one I own. Another one I love is Heeley Sel Marin. I didn’t look at notes for it, but I also love Goldfield and Banks Pacific Rock Moss EDP and to my nose it has a salt note. Do you have a video featuring grapefruit as a note?
Hi Sebastian, Marco Ceravolo here. In your list the winner to me is A'mmare of Carthusia, and not because we're both Italian of course 😁😁😁 seriously, I think the "rendering" of saltiness is highly represented, Luca Maffei did a great work of art. It's selling very well, they also added the whole line of toiletries, body cream, shower oil, shower gel, beach towels, two-size necesseries, etc. I would like to name another "salty" fragrance I really liked: Yucatan Secret by Comptoir Sud Pacifique, which starts with a cucumber/watermelon vibe and then an amazing strong saltiness sticks on your skin for hours, it's a great but underrated perfume which should deserve more attention. Finally, I'd like to mention Liquides Imaginaires launched 3 great works for 2022 summer: Sirenis, Abyssis and Navis, all super 👌🏼 ! The noses behind are all well known - one is Sonia Constant for Sirenis.
Wearing Eden Roc as I write this. Already blown my budget buying 3 perfumes this month, look forward to checking out Squid & Cocobello! Thank you for the Great Vid! 😘 from Oregon
Hi Sebastian, Salarium from Lush (or Salty, body spray version), Anori from Le Couvent and Sel de mer from Nout. Éden Roc rocks ;) Greetings from France
Great video! I love your smelling ideas. I've had a salty experience with Blue Agave by Precious Liquid, its literally smells like your skin with sea water, delicious fragrance
Hello Sebastian how are you?Have you ever smelled, tried Burberry sport woman? Man I gotta tell you. This is one of the best if not the best salty fragrance ever created. It is a discontinued one but if you are curious enough i highly recommend for you chasing, pursuing one. It beats down Vanilla vibes. Guaranteed! It's floral and a lil bit fruity. It's a feminine targeted fragrance but considering you wear Delina yourself. I think you are going to enjoy a lot this one.
Just discovered you and warched several videos in a row. Must say your way if classifyibg fragrances is similar to mine, that's why I think I'm gonna be a frequent viewer on your channel!
My most favourite salty fragrance that you also featured is Acqua do Sale. On my skin it ‘blooms’ in the heat and it is my most complimented fragrance. It just brightens my mood and surroundings. On the second spot Silence the Sea by Strangelove NY, lots of memories. A little less compliments but a wonderful fragrance nonetheless.
D&G light blue intense is very salty designer and Hermes Eua Des Merveilles Bleue are great salty designer scents.Tom Ford Oud Minerale , Creed Erolfa and Oreo Parisi Megamare are some higher end salty fragrances I enjoy. Lastly not sure if you have done a driftwood or teakwood list yet. I also find these type of woods to really fit the hot weather. Cheers and thanks.
One of my greatest beasts is Rogue Perfumery's Champs Lunaire, and when I hit it with two spritzes of Old Navy's Sea Salt & Fig, I am perfectly set for the luau.
I love Squid so much, it might be my favorite zoologist. Because Seahorse reminds me so much of the sea I had to double check the notes, and was surprised there isn't any salt in it.
The best on the list should be Oud Minerale, which is not even included, I guess because it’s discontinued. One of my very favourite fragrances ever and my girlfriend loves it too, which is not a given.
Hi Sebastian, it’s a long shot, but I hope you see this and can help me decide. How does Shay & Blue Salt Caramel and L’artisan Parfumeur Colour Vanille compare, especially in the dry down and longevity? There’s quite a difference in price, but I don’t think I need both 🤷♀️
Thanks for the video, i have tried some of the fragrances on your list and want to try some, generally i like your recommendations but can‘t handle the cloy ones sometimes, specially because of the high humidity where i live which leads to the sweaty smell of salty perfumes, i like Salado a lot because it is so natural and „organic“ smelling, Dior Eden Roc didn‘t work for me because of the annoying sweet and at the same time salty nuances, which i can’t tolerate neither in foods nor in fragrances, same goes for Ellis Salt which is slightly better imo, Aqua di Sale is Amazing but reminds me of my Grandpa‘s drawer where he used to store his ointments, gadgets and sewing stuff. One fragrance in my collection which smells salty although it might not contain salt is actually MAB Ganymede! Yes mineral notes can smell salty but on my skin it is the best salty fragrance ever, one i want to try is the Sel de vetiver. When do you manage to wear salty fragrances? The only window for me is early spring after that they become abrasive in the heat for me.
I LOVE Aqua di Sale. Fortunately I do not get a fishy smell. Love it in high heat, very fresh ocean vibe to it. I also enjoy Heeley Sel Marin. I’ve heard Foconero is like PDM Percival? Amouroud Wet Stone is a summer staple for me, love at first sniff, and great performance, lasts all day.
I'm with you on this one, Sebastian; not a fan of these fragrances. I lived on the Maine coast for three years and am all-too-familiar with the "salty marine accord." 😵😖😫😫
I hate the smell of cucumbers and since I live on the coast I enjoy marine ocean smells being outside which I love. However I don’t like to smell like it as a fragrance I prefer smelling it in it’s natural habits not on my skin. 😖
Interesting you mentioned Sel Marine by James Heeley but you do not own it. this really really smells of the sea in a very natural way. I would recommend it, if you want to recreate the smell of having taken a dip in the sea on your skin.
I'm thinking that 4160 Tuesdays fragrance called What I Did On My Holidays might have some salt in their "marine accord". I love that one so much as it's like a summer gourmand for me, so youthful, so fun and so carefree but very interesting.
Can someone answer this question for me? Where can I purchase Molecule 02 by Eccentric Molecule? Like do they have a website or is this scent found at like a department store? I know this is a silly question, but I really want it and I want to purchase it from a legitimate location/website so that the product will be 100% legitimate. TIA (I live in the USA if that helps any on location/website wise to find this)
