Alison Dilaurentis is The mean girl: blinded Jenna and pined it on her stepbrother Toby who got sent in juvie for it, blackmailed Aria and her father for his affair, fatshamed and gave Hanna a E.D., queerbaited and manipulated Emily because of her sexuality, bullied Paige, Lucas and Mona (the latter so hard that she became A.), blackmailed, lied and manipulated grown ass men (Ian, Wilden, Ezra), blackmailed Spencer about the Ian kiss and nearly sent her in jail because of her lies, even blackmailed Peter Hastings because she knew Jason was his son, fakes her own dead and let her bff believed she was dead that And so much more.She is THE ULTIMATE mean girl, the entire town of Rosewood wanted her dead for those reasons.

I think the biggest plot twist with Glee is that the actresses who play the mean girls were/are seemingly nicer in real life while Lea Michelle is actually the real life mean girl.

Alison should be on top of the list and here’s why: She had nothing that the girlies from 5th to 1st had and yet had the same or a bigger impact. She wasn’t rich RICH like Chanel and Blair, she didn’t have any superpower/twin to impersonate like Katherine, she wasn’t anything special but this popular high school girl unlike Madison but that’s what made her so terrifying. She was completely average in the grand scheme of things and yet had the entire town in a chuck hold. She was feared by teens, adults, friends and family and yet no one did anything to stop her co she was just THAT powerful and that’s why i think she’s the ultimate mean girl.

This list just emphasizes how much mean girls roles are often created with blondes in mind. And that’s not taking into account the large majority of teen shows from disney channels or nickelodeon. The blonde girl is either the mean one or the blonde one (or both = « mean girls »). Some may think that’s not important but when I was young I hated my hair for that; and even later people s first impression of me was that of a B. Stereotypes are very damaging especially for young people at whom lots of high school shows are directed to.
