The Promised Neverland season 2 was such a disappointment. Everything was rushed, nothing was resolved, and everyone was cheated out of a proper ending. 💔💔💔
It's worse when you discover that apparently this was the manga creators intention because they apparently didn't like how the manga went??? Which is ridiculous like if they wanted it to go differently they could just do a different story instead of slap their fans in the face
@bauscheusse He apparently was made to rush the manga by his superiors, hence the messed-up pace towards the end. He was supposed to release light novels that would have properly ended the story the way he wanted it to.
Hot take: Shield Hero S2 is not completely irredeemable. Once you get past the damn Spirit Tortoise Arc, it's actually kinda entertaining. Definitely a drop in quality from the first season tho.
I heard spirit tortoise was a slow arc in the LN too. That's the problem, the first season was laying out a foundation, letting us get to know Naofumi, the second one, we know him, and his goals now, now they have to develop the conflict. Personally, the moment they were in the other world, that was when things picked up for me; but the tortoise was needed in order to set our stakes for the future@@Bowmaster97
Shield hero season 2 was a massive disappointment, maybe cuz season 1 was so good. But season 3 was good enough that I want to see more. Seeing the other 3 heroes again and throwing malty back, I definitely felt more invested. Malty is such an easy character to hate that you want to see her taken down.
Sadly the source material that season 2 had to adapt wasn't much better. The Spirit Tortose Arc definitely show signs that Yusagi was looking to find a new status-quo for the story with it serving as a transition Arc, but it was clear that the author wanted to get through with it serving as a source of trauma and a reality check to the other three heroes.
@darkbluevamp yeah and I wanted to watch it to and want to like it but after I saw the spoiler to end all spoiler I lost it and made a big deal on the internet. I still regret it to this day.
Five 2000s series I've seen and thought were excellent will probably be on the list: Earth Girl Arjuna (2001), Angelic Layer (2001), Noir (2001), X (2001) [damn 2001 was a bad year 😅😂] and RahXephon (2002). Last Exile, Excel Saga, Azumanga Daioh, Boogiepop Phantom, Paranoia Agent and Eureka Seven were more successful, but they're also sadly underrated today. And as a huge CLAMP fan, I wish that Magic Knight Rayearth and CLAMP School Detectives got more love.
Gonna disagree on #13. The Devil is a Part-Timer! S2 has been doing a good job following the light novels, give or take a few little details being held back until more relevant to reveal them. It isn't as good as S1 and the animation quality isn't that different between the studios, where at least didn't also mean a change in VAs, but there are plenty of us fans of the series that did enjoy S2 as much as S1, if not more for some of us. (I also think it's humorous that the current rating on MyAnimeList for S2 parts 1 & 2 is 6.66.)

Yeah, Black Butler's second season was terrible. Heck, the only filler from the first season that was actually good were Ash and Angela. (I kinda wish they were made canon.)
Say what you want about The Devil is a Part-Timer season 2, I like it better than season 1. Seeing the evolving relationship between Emi and Maou because of the arrival of their daughter sold it for me. Yes, the story wasn't as tight as the first season, but the character dynamics are what made it for me. Also, Alas Ramus is the cutest ever, I hope my kids are half as cute as her. Hopefully, we'll see a season 3 to wrap up all the loose ends left by season 2, and maybe it won't take almost 10 years to happen.
I don't even know where to begin. The fact I didn't expect Conception was really hated, didn't know Tsukihime anime was so hated that I understand it. Then there's Brothers Conflict... I like that one. 🙈🤣😭
11:15 To be honest, I'm a fan of SD Gundam Force. I mean, all have flaws, I'll admit, but the musical orchestral score is the only thing that has me gripped with nostalgia when I first saw it on Toonami.
Maken Ki season 2. Completely undid whatever story the first season was trying to tell for egregious amounts of fanservice (and I say this as a man of culture ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )
The rising of the Sheild hero S2 was a disappointed. What ever everyone say about that, it still important to follow the story that will continue to S3.
Its amazing that Jigoku Shoujo a.k.a. Hell Girl Season 4 didn't make this list. The stories in between the main plot of the season had hardly or no weight at all compared to the previous seasons & the main plot of Emma Ai's "replacement" was a blatant recycling of S1 & S3's plots....and we saw that after 6 episodes. Do you understand what I'm saying? Normally for a 12 episode run, they concluded it in 6 episodes, and Do you know what came after on Episode 7? A reused episode from previous seasons til Ep 12. Something majorly bad must've happened behind the scenes if the end result was Season 4.
Makes me think of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Sure the movie and plot were good, but it would've been better if the animation was done the old classic way.
How do you know everyone hates these animes because there are people that like anime shows that people hate. In their people that hate anime shows that people like.
@@randomreviews4278I only watched season 1 and was about to read the light novel. Do you happen to know, if the anime differs from the light novel? Or is the light novel also bad then?
A few that deserved spots on the list: Skelter Heaven, Inferno Cop, Violence Jack, Shojo Tsubaki (it’s a movie rather than a story, but it deserves its notoriety for good reason!), Dark Cat, Wounded Man, Fairy Forest Five, and Abunai Sisters: Koko and Mika.
I agree about the rest, but I feel like you didn't actually watch Inferno Cop. It's really funny and that is a pretty popular opinion. It has a 7.2/10 on MAL.
I've got two with the same premise: Usagi Drop and If It's For My Daughter, I'd Even Defeat a Demon Lord. The shared premise: Boy rescues girl, boy all but adopts girl, boy raises girl, girl gets crush on boy, boy...reciprocates. Luckily, neither anime made it to the really problematic stuff of their LNs, but they shared not-so-subtle hints as to the direction the relationships were going...
One that I really think deserved a high placement on this list is "A Dance with Devils". An absolutely disjointed romantic plotline with the single most ludicrous collection of musical numbers ever collected for any reason. I have never been a big fan of the romance genre of anime, but whomever came up with this was probably thinking "Dizzney romance plus Anime" and then elected to be pummeled about the head with a golf club while they wrote the songs.
20 and 9. Say what you want about the other entries animation but at least the characters in those anime actually, y'know, MOVED! I've seen better EVERYTHING in fighting game stills. 7. All I can think of is how much it looks more like Guilty Gear games. It's not like CGI anime CAN'T work. Beastars, Dorohedoro, and Kengan Asura managed to pull it off. 3. WHAT HAPPENED?! Did the team get replaced in between seasons? Did executive meddling get in the way? Did the existing team lose their touch? I don't know what happened behind the scenes, but regardless, it ended disastrously and everyone involved loses, especially the consumers.
would put garzey's wing/vampire holmes/brothers conflict/ladyspo(that was just a slideshow rip off of deathball) and definitely gibiate/pure ugly ex arms/berserk(that series is just sadly cursed with anime adaptations) in flcl grunge's(compared to the previous 2 that felt like a generic anime that had haruko in it it felt closer though would just prefer a story about an older naoto/mamimi running into haruko again.) spot as they're way worse. shield hero s2 was underwhelming "didn't know what to do after it's finale" but wouldn't say it is as bad as conception and at least had a proper follow up compared to how pure bad promised neverland's finale is.
SD Gundam is actually meant to be a parody of itself. As if you look at it in that perspective it isn't that bad that's just being more comical. Also Devil is a part-timer season 2 is it really that bad so I'm not sure if its source material. As if it's a light novel or Manga it could just be one of those arcs that is not really well liked.
Amazing video watch mojo of the mostly despicable universe anime of all time, fantastic job. Some of those anime sounds interesting to check out to see how bad they are made and other one just skip all together. I might check watch soon Tesla Note and hand shakers for the fun of it,to see if I will like or not. What about FLCL Shoegage.
FLCL Grunge may have bee redundant but honestly the franchise was always crazy and nonsensical so if there's more new FLCL following the actual last series that followed Grunge I'll still see it
Progressive, Alternative, Grunge, and Shoegaze is all we're getting for the time being. What's interesting is it all follows a timeline with most of the seasons taking place before the original FLCL and Progressive being the last in the timeline.
It's a 'target audience' deal. People hear Gundam, they expect gundam, similar to.. say the megaman video games, or pokemon. You hear the brand and you know what to expect. Gundam being what is is, it's more similar to MettaBots. If you want a similar anime, that does it better
Well that sucks… but at least you clarified that! It still would be an awesome concept to explore in the main stream! I guess I find the mecha more interesting than pilots!
Except they made more series of SD Sentient Gundams but with better stories. There's one based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Yes, they made Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but with SD Gundams.
you should make an part two and put these two on it: Hameln no Violin Hiki - comedy/parody manga : was made in a "dark" fantasy anime -animation : more a slide show of pictures in some episodes -story : rushed It could have been a good anime if it got more development time and money.I want a proper remake of the "dark" fantasy version because the ost was ok ,the plot was intresting and i liked the characters. Machine Robo: Cronos no Dai Gyakushuu -has a good intro which lured me into watching this It was more of how much errors you can find .the animation style changes in few episodes often in one episodes, mixed up colour paletts, Switchet up names and name changes ,the story everywhere . I did some research because it looked like transformers. It was once upon a time a little japanese toy company produced a new toyline and named it machine robo it was the most suscessful toy they ever createt.(according to wikipedia)one year later a really well known bigger toy company launced a new toyline similar to machine robo and they named it Transformers .they where so sucessful they made an anime und selled thier toys worldwide. one year after the big company launched their Transformers anime ,the little company launced the machine robo anime wich was not good.
Came specifically for this comment. I thought it was a decent show and went online to hopefully have a discussion about it. BIIIIIG mistake. It's my taste of my first life lesson: NEVER interact with Type Moon VN fans. They're the ones responsible for all the unreasonable hatred on the show.
Just a note to the WatchMojo people. Maybe I'm the only one bugged by this, but I often have this on while doing other stuff, and noticed that the narration is SO MUCH more quiet than things like music (for music-based videos) or or, in this case, the Anime dialog. I have to constantly keep messing with the volume so I either don't blow my eardrums out but also, want to hear what the announcer is saying. Most people probably aren't doing other stuff (like playing MMORPGs, well, the grindy parts) while watching or listening to videos, but when you are, the change in volume is very noticeable.
I forget if it was mention in this video (and I don't care enough to go back to check), but it should be noted that Conception also exists as video games
sees clips from Lunar Legend Tsukihime: "...Oh! It's those guys who're in Carnival Phantasm! So that's where they're from!" I've also just kind of learned that no matter how I put my grasses on, we'll never get a good Berserk, the Black Swordsman Arc and beyond anime adaptation. Just like how I learned from "The Devil is a Part-Timer" what the true definition of "losing the thread" means. The animation downgrade did not help.
I’m worried that seasons 2 of X-Men 97, Chainsaw Man, Castlevania Nocturne, Zom 100, Hell’s Paradise, Loser Ranger and Delicious in Dungeon, and of course seasons 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, Legend of Vox Machina and Spy x Family might be disasters.
FLCL didn’t end at Grunge. We also got FLCL: Shoegaze the same year and it left a lot more questions than answers, the latter of which we’ll get forced down our throats if more seasons appear out of nowhere.
Tbf conception it's a anime adaptation of the first game in a series(2012/13&19) and maybe should stayed as such. By video game adaptation is it almost a coin flip if it ends good.
I have Tsukihime and as someone who didn't even know the visual novel existed it isn't that bad. If like me you go into it with no prior knowledge it's a okay show
I loved playing Conception 2 the video game back in the day so I was interested when the anime for the first game came out.....then I tried watching it....never again.
Anyone heard of "Legend of Duo"? This anime ... I mean slideshow is some supernatural maybe vampire story, with relative short episodes. It was so memorable that I can't even recall what was it really about, but it didn't really cointain any animation :D
I've been a FLCL fan since it originally aired on Adult Swim Grunge may not be a worthy successor to it's perfection but I can't see why anyone would despise it, and I found it really odd that it was even on this list, let alone at the top.
Vampire Holmes is super funny if u listen to everlasting love as the op and ed everytime on top of the ad for every episode. Garzey's wing is also an amazingly funny watch with friends. The pool party scene is PEAK as well as the crazy character names.
The truly weird thing about Brothers Conflict is that NOT ONCE does the girl reciprocate any of the brothers' interest. They all want her, but she consistently just wants a normal family. This isn't her torn between them; it's her not wanting any of it, so it ends up being something like eleven active stalkers coming after her in a completely one-sided way. It really makes one wonder what the goal of this thing was.
I only watched conception and shield hero 2, the former was trashy but lacking real plot and dumb breeding joke I personally abandoned it when my favorite girl wore her glasses for few scenes then took it off during “fun time “ completely ruining the point of her theme, for the later I did enjoy the first season but mostly for MC while the girls were annoying and only the queen was interesting so the sequel killed my interest for possible sequel.
