#1 used to be even worse, remember how if one of the crew died the commander would replace the position of that crew member but you needed the commander to launch rockets/

After grinding tier 1 french tanks, no tank could ever be as bad.

I bounced the 128mm on the Maus with the Charioteer's turret. 30mm my arse.

A big problem with WT is that less than half of these vehicles were designed specifically to fight other vehicles. They were designed to support infantry or work in tandem with other systems. APCs can fight vehicles but it's designed to transport troops while simultaneously providing fire support, and the Sheridan was great because it could be deployed with paratroopers giving light infantry much needed armor to combat hardened positions. All functions made pointless in WT.

CathFawr would be great at reading the side effects of drugs at the end of commercials.

Ro-Go is the least played? I never thought I would see anything less played than the Independent.

Seeing the SU-122 on the "worst tanks in war thunder" list feels like a punch in the face with he current meta. At 2.3 and with the new shell mechanics it's genuinely OP. Good mobility, great armor, God-tier firepower.

What I've learned from this video. Long reloads suck. rockets are memes. Penetration is important.

Why is the Jpz 4-5 at 7.0( 7.3 in AB I think) while the RU 251 is at 6.7?

The H.35 was even worst for a moment, between the short time between the ammo stat changes and before it was removed from reserve. It's APHE devolved to a mighty.. 13mm of pen, and the APCR was like sub 30 now.

I always remember playing as a bt5 and knocking out the French tanks with one hit every time.

The H.35 isn't helped by the fact that Gaijin is under the illusion that the "inefficiency" of a one man turret totally crippled loading within it. All French low tier tanks suffer from an absurdly long reload for their tier, caliber of gun, and placement of the ammunition. They should all have similar fire rates to every other light tank, but because of "hurr durr, one man in the turret makes everything slower," they have reloads 1 to 3 seconds longer than everyone else. Unfortunately, unless someone comes up with documents on the RoF of these tanks, this artificial balancing move will continue to afflict low tier France.

My opinion on the list 20 Charioteer: A capably armed cromwell at 6.7. It’s excellent on the flank, if not the best vehicle at the tier. 19 T92: a gimmick tank. It’s gun is plenty capable, it’s fast, and it’s armor is enough to handle light weaponry (aa and 50s) It’s a harasser, not a brawler. 18 AMX30 Brenus: BRENUS! 17 ISU122: Good at it’s job, but there are better vehicles at the same tier. 16 Jadgpanzer: Armor is deceptively passable, speed is good, gun is capable. German hellcat. 15 Bagel: Never touched this thing, but it seems like it should have a warrior-AA playstyle. 14 Sheridan: The gun is a very nice howitzer with the heat, it’s essentially a guarantee of a one shot (or atleast a cripple) if you get the side. It’s the master of cities in the right hands (the W key stays down). 13 Panzerwerfer: It’s a meme. A glorious meme. Treat it like a fat sturmpanzer. 12 SU-122: The art of shooting under a tank. The good ammo is pretty reliable too. Take it out lategame, it will serve you well. 11 T61: Decent harasser, but I can’t defend it. It’s simply too big, if it was smaller it would be an absolute monster, but it isn’t. 10 Rogo: It’s not useless, but there are better japanese tanks at 1.3 that are in the tree. 9: PT-76B: It’s a PT-76. It’s a BEAST! This thing should not be on this list at all, it should be on the *best* tanks list. 8: The archer is a monster. If you’re experienced and can read the map, you will rule. Don’t bring it to city maps unless you’re a masochist though. 7: BM-8-24: A relatively useable rocket tank. If you want to play with the barrage, this is the vehicle to do it. 6 Sau-40: Armored tank destroyer, 40mm with it’s rounding, with a nice gun and sufficient mobility. 5 M2A2: OHH NO! YOU AINT INSULTING MY BABY BOY! He may not be strong, but he has will! 4 BM-13: It’s the katyusha. it isn’t made to fight tanks. It’s fun and impressively strong at long range though. 3: I-go-ko: This thing is actually good. It has very good explosive mass when it pens (it can 1shot the LVT), passable speed, and good maneuverability. 2: H.35: Not defending this damn thing. I despise it. It’s only positive is that (admittedly excellent) curved 40mm. The other hotchkiss is great, but this... ugh. 1: Type 60 ATM: Ugggghhhhhh this. I will accept this #1.

The sau actually has some potential in urban maps, it can turn pretty quick and the armor can sometimes save you in a fight

I don't get why the Ru 251 has a lower BR than the Kanonenjagdpanzer. The RU 251 is basically equal or superior to the Kanonenjagdpanzer in every way except for armour ( 50 mm still won't bounce any shells though). It should (IMO) be downtiered to 6.7.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting m2a2 to be number 5. In the time I played it it was really fun to play, and suprisingly I penetrated most things at my tier front on, even when I got up br'd I was still able to take on a number of vehicles and kill them. I guess thats just me though, most other people I know who have tried the m2a2 just did not like it.

The SU-122 is great, even in an uptier. You can pen a Panther’s upper glacis at any distance.

Alot of these are really satisfying to play since you dont expect to kill somebody. It makes it all better when you get a kill and you really feel like YOU were the reason. And with m2a2 i killed 3 tanks in a spree and 2 planes, it was glorious.

#2 is the reason that I just used premium to grind the French tier 1 and early tier 2.

Note about the Ro-Go and I-Go-Ko: These tanks now have a heat round that is much better than their standard round. In Arcade, the I-Go can actually be *great* fun, and I've had some amazing rounds with it, but in Realistic battles, it's still pretty lame.

The official designation for the Charioteer is actually as a medium tank. Yeah, I know right. Its pretty understandable why WT doesn't call it a medium tank, but yeah, thats what the British classed it as. As someone who spaded the chariot I have to say, the thing is so painful to play. Its gun sucks, its armor sucks, and it has the classic garbage reverse speed of British vehicles. I'm amazed you consider the Scorpion superior to the T92. The Scorpion was a nightmare to spade due to CAS, CDR cupola .50 cals, and how poor the Scorpion's gun works upon penetration. The T92 was way more fun and efficient to spade. Fuck the BRENUS, so much. The ISU 122 is a relic from lower brs where the vehicle was actually good. It is like all tank lines, where the last iteration before a phase shift blows hard because its what clued people in that there needed to be a change. The JPZ 4-5 is a textbook example of Gaijins pay to win model. The RU-251 has the same gun and shells but is somehow a lower tier and lower BR. The 4-5 is such a hassle and you feel so cheated as you play it. The Bagel is a fun challenge, anyone playing should know damn well what they are getting themselves in for. Its like playing Japan, you can do it, but its going to be hard. The Sheridan sucks as much in real life as it does in-game. Guys in Vietnam actually made repeated requests for their Walker Bulldogs back after getting the Sheridan. The Panzerwerfer is the same as all other MLRS, you should know what you are getting yourself in for when you play it. This game is not built for rocket ARTY, they are a secondary thought that barely functions. Know what you are getting into, including how rewarding it is when you do well in it. The SU-122 was so boring and lame to play, its derpy as hell and underwhelming. Its just in general a bland experience. The Type 61 is the definition of Gaijin's poor balancing. This thing does not play like a medium tank. This thing is a light tank with none of the light tank perks. The only good thing is it has really weird armor that somehow reflects shots that should kill it. The Ro-Go, like every other nation's landship, blows. And among them, the Ro-Go is the worst, even worse than the Independent. FUCK THE PT-76. That thing was one of the worst experiences to spade. I hate this thing with a passion. And no, just because some third world nations still use it, it sucks in real life too. Those countries still use it because they are dirt cheap and are better than nothing. Even the USSR itself hated the thing, thats why they sold em off to third world nations. Want realism? Try putting the Iraqi Roundel on it and taking on Abrams tanks like the Iraqis did. We all know it worked out. Dont hate on the archer, its a really unique and fun challenge. The thing is really fun, if push comes to shove, just play it in AB and do donut spin shots. So much meme, such wow. The BM-8-24 deserves to be hidden, paying money for that thing is a joke and a scam. The Katyusha event was the only time I ever played it and it sucks SO MUCH. The SAU-40 is a prime example of what you are getting inf or when playing France's tech tree. If you play with the team it can endure, but its a really rough experience to spade. The M2A2 is like all the other armored car style vehicles that serve as the base of the SPAA line in each tree. Its designed to dissuade undedicated people from playing SPAA. You have to know what you are getting into when playing SPAA and this thing teaches people the hard way. Dont shit on the Katyusha, they straight up told people it wasnt meant to arrive in the game. And when they finally made it available they straight up called it a collector's item not meant to be played seriously. Awww dont hate on the Type89. Its a great way to clue people in from the start what Japanese tank gameplay is going to be like. I love my little duck tank. OMFG screw the H35 and its subsequent vehicles. It is so annoying to play. But again, it gives you a pretty clear picture of what playing France is going to be like. Oh God, I am about to start the spading process for the Type 60 ATM. Please God, someone, anyone, help me. Save me from the torment I am about to embark upon. At least they fixed one of the vehicle's crew problems, but theres still other issues that needing to get fixed.

Fun fact, the archer suffered from its barrel warping since it was located just above the engine so during long engagements the gun would start to warp

Rocket artillery like the Katyusha wasn't meant to engage armor, but rather to carpet bomb. The Katyusha would roll up, fire off a salvo, and reposition quickly before the attack could be answered. They suck in the game because they can't be used for their intended purpose.

Early french tanks can hold their ground as long as they show their backs at the enemy, any round that penetrates can be stopped by modules.

Tip for the katyusha: Try uninstalling your suspension, as this allows you to dip down after you slow down, allowing you to have a chance to luckily disable the enemy tank in front of you

with most of the french I just drive with engine as cover with their speed it doesn't make a difference

The ERA doesn't justify a higher BR in a lot of cases. In the case of the BRENUS, it's because it gets a new engine, which, in all fairness, makes it that bit better than the regular B2.

This is an amazing video, it's not "roasting" the tanks but it's rather a critique on them and you do acknowledge some of the good things

The T92 is literally my top tank on my service record out of all the nations. It can pen IS-6s and IS-3s, and with a well placed shot even IS-4M.

Nr. 15 have a thin armor because the hull of it is just the german "Schützenpanzer Marder" ( Infantry Fighting Vehicle). they just replaced the RH202 mashinecanon and changed a bit at the back ( rear door etc.). the only strange thing is that there are vents at the top rear, which makes no sence because the engine is in the front. right beside the driver

Jpz 4-5 worse than the ISU-152? o_O I quite like the Jpz 4-5. Its fast, has a low profile, has great RoF and very good zoom. Its perfect for big open maps and in reality far better than the Jagdtiger is at 7.0 because the armor doesn't mean all that much compared to how slow it is.

PT-76 is actually pretty good. It's just not the same after the historical reload nerf And it was quite buffed moving to 5.3 and removing the fuel tanks in the back. Still it just needs the 12.7 on the roof to defend from planes (it had it IRL)

i have to disagree about the SU-122 while its obvious it lacks armor its HEAT is the biggest selling point about it as the HEAT shell of the SU-122 is very powerful i have played a lot of games with it and spaded the thing easily because it has a small profile and great speed that allows it to get into good positions and despite lacking armor barely anybody wants to mess with you frontally until you have fired your shell but the reload is not that bad while it does take some time its way more faster than some other Soviet Derp guns

Type61 is actually one of my favorite tanks to play. It's just mobile enough to flank, the gun has good versatility with the heat and the aphe, letting me deal with anything I can face. In a nutshell: It's just fun. (and it used to keep up with the ru-251 in acceleration up to a point. Witnessed this miracle often in SRE.) I have a video of me carrying my team with 14 kills in it on my channel if you want to check it out. (iirc the is-6 was still 7.0 or 6.7 or whatever it was at the time too)
