Great list ... and yes, I am in total agreement with your first choice: the first real ultimate "return". And that scene was wonderfully choreographed, a precursor to Dominique Deveraux's infamous hotel arrival on Dynasty. One of the biggest mistakes this show made was killing Kristen off ... she could have returned down the road a much wiser, more smarter character, having learned from the master, and as Christopher's mother, could really have turned Bobby and Pam's lives upside down as much as J.R. and Sue Ellen's. Katherine became her successor and the writers wisely utilized everything they could from that character, but imagine trading in Katherine for Kristen when Ms Wentworth overstayed her welcome. So much story for Linda Gray was sacrificed as well with Kristen's premature demise. A shame. Abby's return for the finale of Knots Landing was beautifully done. And yes, Lana Turner's absolutely-fabulous chair swivel will forever go down in the memory of any true blue Falcon Crest fan, the first (and only) rewrite of Richard's birth that made sense (instead of being abandoned by a shameful mother, he was actually sold by her in exchange for power). Later, viewers were asked to swallow a real bitter pill of a rewrite with Richard's parentage. What, no Matthew Blaisdell as the leader of a South American revolutionary terrorist group/wedding gate-crasher? I don't blame you ... ugh, I'm sorry I even brought it up as a joke.

What I miss is the return of Julia Cumson, rising from the death when Emma Channing was outside and Julia whispered her name through the bushes.

I know Melrose Place wasn't considered one of the Supersoaps, but I still think Kimberly Shaw's return was the best scene of any soap ever. I wasn't even a huge fan of Melrose Place (at least up until then), but that moment blew me completely away.

oh wow - I thought for sure the #1 would be Lisa Hartman's return as Cathy Geary on Knots Landing. That was just brilliant they way they had her show up on Abby and Gary's honeymoon. It was so subtle. Surprised it did not even make the list.

I can't believe they didn't show the return of Joan Van Ark after Gary thinking she was dead. Thinking she died in an explosion.Joan left because they were making her character a crazy joke, to the audience. I don't blame her. She went from "Poor Val" to "Crazy Val".

If there was ever going to be a reboot of Knots Landing, I'd like to see the Fairgate and Cunningham kids apart of the series. Maybe Brian is in a wheelchair due to someone else's drunkdriving or drug usage?
