Mont Saint Michel is the most mesmerizing place I have ever seen. Been there many times. Walked all the way through the sands of the bay (with a guide of course, it would be too dangerous otherwise), spent a night inside the Mont. At night, all tourists are gone, you have the Mont for yourself. AMAZING. But all that does not even come close to attend an evening mass in the abbey. I am not a religious person but listening to the nuns and monks sing for one hour is something I will never ever forget.

1.20 - I was there in 1997. We got there by car with my brother and becouse it was night all area was so dark without any city lights just dunes and grass all around and we were able to see Mt. St. Michelle from the distance of 5- 7 km as a triangle of golden light in the darkness :)

Ben , si j'avais un conseil à donner aux étrangers désireux de visiter la France , est de sortir des sentiers battus , sortir de la région parisienne . Même si il y a de très belles choses à y voir , bien entendu . Mais , les départements Français ont également beaucoup à offrir en terme de différence de paysage , d' architectures , de gastronomie , etc ... Comme cette vidéo le démontre . Bien que ce soit qu' un petit échantillon . Et , c'est vrai , je suis d'accord avec le monsieur de la vidéo . Pourquoi n'est mis en avant que Paris et un peu Lyon et Marseille , la plupart du temps ? Alors , que bien des départements Français sont magnifiques et très différents dans ses paysages , architectures , gastronomies , activités , atmosphères , mentalités , etc ... Et , mériterait d' être vue ! Surtout que la France à cette particularité de disposer d' environnement qui change du tout au tout en , à peine , quelques dizaines de km , voir une centaine de km . Je dirais que le seul environnement que nous n' avons pas en France est un désert . Et , un environnement tropical . Enfin , pour ce qui concerne la France métropolitaine , j' entends ! Pour ça , il faut aller dans les départements d' outre-mer , qui sont également magnifique . Bien que je n'ai jamais eu la chance de les visiter , à mon grand regret . Après , bien évidemment , que bien des pays disposent de merveille environnementaux et architecturaux , etc , qui leur sont propres . L' être humain est ainsi fait que l'on a toujours tendance à rêver de ce qu' on a pas chez soi ! Pendant que l' Américain rêve de visiter des environnements comme nous les avons en France . Le Français , lui , rêve de visiter des lieux comme il y en a aux États-Unis , en Chine , en Égypte , etc ... Parce que , c'est différent de ce que l'on peut trouver chez nous . Enfin , bref ... I live in Nice on the french riviera and I'm sad he didn't spend more time here as the old town is gorgeous. After all these years I still love to walk in there, looking at the shops, going to the market, just living the slow and peaceful southern life. I know all the spots around here he talked about, but one of the greatest features of Nice is how close it is to the Alps. You can go take a swim in the sea in the morning, hop into your car and drive less than 2 hours to hike in the mountains. With beautiful villages on the side of the mountains, castles, old WW2 bunkers and great forests, the peaks towering behind Nice are a great place for exploration.

We have a family house near the Mont St Michel. I've been there every year and after 44 years it's always a magical moment.

Back in the days, 1980s and 1990s, we would hitch-hike a lot and go to such places with only a backpack and not much money. It wasn't hard to find small jobs in such touristy places, especially when you speak several languages. Another thing, regardless of languages, is to go towards early September, when the wine grapes are harvested. They would always look for people to help harvesting, and they usually have buildings for people to sleep there, they feed you 3 meals a day, plus you get well paid (and you get to drink plenty of wine). It's very hard work, though, you just want to sleep at the end of the day, but when you get paid, you can travel around a little. Then, you can go to Germany and do the same, they harvest the grapes later, in early October. But there are also other fruit and vegetables that need to be harvested. It used to be easy to find such jobs, but unfortunately not so much anymore. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the USSR, things have changed a lot, not always for the better. Now, they often have people from former Soviet sattelite countries, like e.g. Poland, who come to do the harvests, they work for less money.

Just a small suggestion for your video... if you could increase your volumn, maybe around 10dB to 15dB, that will be supper good. I found this flaw (maybe its not called flaws, not sure the proper English word for it) in all your video, which it is okay. If you really want to know France you need to stay one year and go in each part north, south, east west, Mediterranean sea and atlantic ocean, alps and Pyrenées montains, and also all countryside. Then you will have an Idea of the variety of landscape, architecture and foods.

Moi qui suis français, je n'ai pas tout visité en France tellement il y'a de chose à voir. La France est tellement riche en patrimoine naturel et architectural qu'il est très difficile de tout voir, chaque région voir commune à son architecture, son histoire. Et sans oublier la nourriture, où chaque région à ses plats traditionnels. Je sais que je ne pourrais tout visiter en France. C'est plus qu'une vie qu'il faut. dans la vidéo, il est resté longtemps sur la côte d'azur mais je vous conseil aussi l'auvergne avec ces anciens volcans, la côte Basque, la Normandie, après des villes comme Guérande, Clisson (qui a une architecture très italienne, pourtant dans l'ouest de la France) Saint Malo, bref trop de choses à voir en France

Packed in such a tiny country, you have 5 mountain ranges, 5500 kms of coastline, different climates, from warm Mediterranean to cold "north" (paris), and a very long history where all these places were built. Not even mentionning the extra oversea territories (tropical, polar, ...). That explains why so many Europeans spend their holidays here, it only takes a few hours to drive between ski stations to meditteranean sea.

Avec mes grand-parents j'allais en Normandie ou en Bretagne, et le Mont Saint Michel est très joli aussi. Dommage que depuis 40 ans les dirigeants détruisent le pays, plus ou moins rapidement, et qu'élection après élections c'est de pire en pire.
