Finally, I see someone else who does not get the hype around White Dress by LDR. It's possibly one of her worst songs, she tries way too hard to be 'artsy' with the lyrics, and the singing on the chorus is unbearable at times. It's such an off-putting album opener that the whole album suffers from its inclusion.

Really? It's 2021 and people actually thought it was good idea to sample "I'm Too Sexy" bt Right Said Fred? Drake sucked, sucks and will continued to suck in the future. I hate many artists but I liked at least one of their songs. Hell, I don't like Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift yet I liked at least 2 of their songs. Drake is the only artist that I liked 0!!! songs. I have 2 guilty pleasures of his (Nice for What and In My Feelings) and those are not in the category "Songs I Like".

I only listened to a full AJR album once, and that was OK Orchestra on the ARTV livestream with Jon reacting to it. OK Orchestra has now easily replaced Imagine Dragons’s 2017 album “Evolve” as the worst album I’ve listened to so far.

I also have to agree with your opinion on Solar Power as a Lorde Fan, that album was really underwhelming, especially after such a long hiatus :/

It's so sad how far Skillet's music has fallen... they had a great trio of albums back in the day with Collide, Comatose, and then Awake, those three albums back to back were absolutely incredible, but their newer stuff has been fairly uninspired ever since Ben left.

I wouldn’t say they were ever one of my favorites but I did like them ok but there’s only so many times you can recycle the same sound and themes. They just sound like a product of their time. Not everything will transcend time like Nevermind or American Idiot. Even Green Day’s last album wasn’t that bad to me. It’s not my favorite but at least they don’t cling to the past. I might be a little biased though

As a big Imagine Dragons fan, yeah Cutthroat deserved it. Even though the 'Performance Video' version was a LOT better (I saw in the chat that you used that version due to copyright), the bassline is sick, Dan doesn't sound nearly as unbearable and the kazoo was kind of weird but kind of worked. Anyway, a few other songs I hated that didn't make the list: Sia - Hey Boy Anne Marie & Little Mix - Kiss My (Uh Oh) Drake - What's Next Tom Grennan - Little Bit of Love Joel Corry & Jax Jones ft. Charli XCX & Saweetie - OUT OUT (who asked for this shitter version of Alors on Danse by Stromae?) Cardi B - Up The Vaccines - Headphones Baby (I know the songs by them you heard in the stream were pretty good, but this one is not)

I agree aaa The Maine have been my favourite band since 2011 and I love every song and album they put out but High Forever did disappoint me and I don’t like it, I also can’t shake the fact it sounds like they’re trying to create an Imagine Dragons sound. When bands like the Maine, Coldplay and even ADTR make it to the worst list, you know something was messed up about music this year. Also, I am ashamed of what Skillet and Maroon 5 have become. After 2013-14, they've just both fallen off the deep edge big time.

Idk I thought this year was a pretty good year for music (kinda like last year), but it helps that I don't follow a lot of the bands you mentioned, so I can't be disappointed if I don't seek them out. And I don't consume nearly as much new music as Jon or others do, so if I hear even 12 albums that stood out to me (one for every month), I'm good.

From what I’ve heard, Coldplay has been on the decline for a few years now anyways. Also, it was a collaboration with BTS, so some authenticity may have had to be sacrificed there to appeal to their fanbase more.

Skillet has gotten too comfortable with their music, it will sadly never change because the christian pre teens constantly eat up their music. I'm honestly sick of their shtick by now. Generic propaganda and Stadium rock is all these people know. Unleashed was the last one for me and honestly I cringe every time I see, "New from Skillet" on Spotify. On a smaller note, ex ffdp drummer Jeremy "devil daddy" spencer has released 9 albums worth of trashy goth rock/electronica and it's an endless buffet of cringe and hilarity.

If Ragged Old Flag by Johnny Cash and Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd came out in 2021 he would have probably put it on this list. All hat and no cattle artists have invaded country music since the 1970s and it wasn't the only genre affected. Posers have affected all popular genres. You know a poser when they seem to check all the boxes but seem to be copying rather than innovating.

This year's ID album was wild. It gave us one of the best songs or the year in Wrecked ( Also shout out to Dull Knives) . But jeez what the fuck was Cutthroat. Imo the song singlehandedly dragged their score on the album down. It was pretty good otherwise.
