Camila’s new album is trying to hard to be something it’s not which is sad cause I was really hoping for this album to be lit but it’s not it’s just trash with no artistic redemption whatsoever it just feels underwhelming and bland with no catchy hooks at all and no emotional depth to it. But sadly it’s not very good it sucks. by the way did we even need Drake on the album doing an interlude at all on it? Hell No!
All I feel is that "Dai the Flu" & "Kimdracula" are their most underrated & are among my top favorite, but hey...music is all subjective, that's why it's so fun to discuss.
It`s interesting that zou said that Billie "leans heavily on her brother Finneas on production" while on the other hand, they said that Billie done a lot of production by herself on this record.
First of all, Camila said that she worked on record for year and a half, second of all, those co-writers are all from samples, she was writing by herself. I understand your point of you, but I think you went to hard on Camila. It has replay value, aesthetics are unique and she explored different style with this record.
She said 3 years to Zane Lowe. I immediately acknowledged the writer amount due to sampling. Not sure if you just missed that but I think I went east ok her. I’ve seen plenty of way harder and tbh, I get it.
I love Imagine Dragons and I would consider myself a hardcore fan but let's be real. This album is a stinker. I loved Night Visions and Smoke + Mirrors because the lyrics felt more personal and they had a nice sound and style that made them unique. I'd say even Origins and Mercury Act 1 & 2 actually have songs that feel more personal as well since they're songs about Dan's drug addiction, depression, his relationship to Aja, and his battle with AS. However, Loom feels so rushed and incomplete with lyrics that feel like they could've been written for anyone by anyone. On the plus side, it's nice to see him look happy again!
I remember becoming a Green Day fan in 2022 and tried to check out (what was at their time) their most recent album, and I hated it big time. July 2024 with Saviors out and I can say I still hate Father of All big time.

Only God Was Above Us - Vampire Weekend (Top 3: Gen-X Cops, Classical, & Capricorn)
you say this is not definitive and just your opinion but in my opinion this is the perfect list i aggree with everything i would put bleed it out higher but thats more personal because of how much it helped me during tough times its just a happy and not deep song but happy enough you included it
If you told me the drummer of imagine dragons had been on hiatus after smoke and mirrors I’d believe you for how programmed and basic their drums have been
It's so bizarre that you'd expect people to hate loom, but apparently this is their best. I swear, no one can actually agree on ID if the world depended on it
Do you mean on critic scores? In that case, that means jack shit since critics are too afraid to give negative reviews nowadays. Also it's early days yet; Origins got pretty decent scores in its first week or so but later harsh ones brought the average down.
It feels like the record label or smth was like "do smth like charli xcx and be quick!" to Camila and she was not happy about it. So she made what they wanted... but in the absolute worst imagineble way she could, as a protest.
Haven’t heard any of them yet BUT I’m gonna assume Imagine Dragons is worse because, well, they always are? 💀 Camila at least is committed to the mess.
I like your takes on these albums and your ranking. Ours are different (which is a good thing). But you're insane for your All We Know Is Falling take. I like hearing some negativity or perspectives I didn't think about or know. But your assessment on that album totally undercuts the quality of the music. It perfectly encapsulates a somber, melancholy energy of teenage emotions and angst (fitting since most of them were teenagers). The band was solid from the beginning, especially for being so young. The guitars are glistening and beautiful. It really is a photograph to a moment in time and it captures it unlike any band has captured teenage melancholy. edit (adding this bit here): on this tier list, it'd be at least a C or a B (higher on my personal list). it doesn't belong atthe bottom of the list, even if you said it's not bad.
Team Dragons. I've always liked their older stuff, and despite 3 of their 4 albums before LOOM being pretty weak, i wasnt sad about this sounds they went for here. Obivously it's very generic, but the production is objectively miles better than what was on mercury act 2, and most of the songs are at least listenable, despite how basic they may be. Also, it actually sounds like they really enjoyed making this album, which to me is probably the most important thing!
I really wish that Imagine Dragons had just stuck to their early Indi rock roots. I think that they didn't sound too bad when they sounded like a rock band...
Yeah I don't think i'm gonna bother listening to this ID album, I thought Mercury Act 1 was a huge sign of improvement, but Act 2 was so long and bloated, and the singles I've heard haven't been good. As for Camila, Havana is her only good song IMO and even then it's not THAT good.
I haven't heard the new Imagine Dragons album, but I did get Camila's. I can say I agree with you on her album. It was terrible, and I actually love Camila and have been a fan of hers since Fifth Harmony was on X Factor. She has such an amazing voice and is a talented songwriter, but this album didn't showcase her vocal or writing ability at all! This new direction she's trying she needs to get a map and find her way out of it, cause it's just not working! I'm really hoping this absolute dumpster fire of an album just goes away, and her next one is something more cohesive that shows her talent better.
lol heard snippets of some of these songs on itunes and completely agree literally the most trash music going around. commercial no artictic content, annoying songs from people with no talent (or completely lost it)
Im a huge fan of ID, but god damn was I disappointed with this album. They say they want to make music quicker, but I would rather wait like 4 years than to hear the stuff that's on this album. In Your Corner, Don't Forget Me and Fire In These Hills are more likeable than God's Don't Prey, Take Me To The Beach and Kid by far.
@@fr3dm3rc0ry4 I never said it was bad, I just meant to apply the songs I chose I enjoy more. I'm disappointed, doesn't mean I think it's bad. It's just my personal opinion tho, so not everyone is gonna agree and that's ok
