They are definitely protective, we have to be careful when introducing new people into the house. My GSD no bother anyone when we are out and about, so long as nobody shows bad intent, he picks that up almost before they even know they have bad intent!!!!

OMG, please tell me how you trained your GSD and pit to get along and live well together. I have a female pit and want to get a GSD puppy when she turns five, but I'm afraid of having those two types of dogs together. Any tips would be appreciated.

Spent some time with a good 2-3 yo boy today and hoping to adopt him from a rescue. He has a wonderful temperament so happy to meet people and also always alert! Super-human dog lol

If you want a smaller one, all these apply to the gorgeous smaller cousin the Norwegian Elkhound. A bit rarer but oh so wonderful in all these ways. I had one in my teens (a retired service dog) and I will never forget him. ❤

You’re dead on about the Belgium malnoi I know I probably misspelled that . They have a lot of the qualities of a German Shepherd. But the off switch ? Ahhh 😌 you have to have way more energy and dedication then a German shepherd

I'm thinking about picking up one of these in a few months. Looking at a working line like the ddr. He'll have a good amount of energy, but not overboard like Belgiums 😂

Another channel says that the working line dogs have too much energy and dominance for most families to handle. An American line is better but apparently they don't make great guard dogs

European show lines are better. They can also be used for guard or working dogs. My first German shepherd was a sable working line but was laid back and had guarding capabilities, my show line European has good stamina and amazing protection personal and home protection. She is very responsive. Prefer the European show line as they are also very pretty and a lovely tan/black coat.
