From my experience/view I like the Vibram Eton over Dainites for wet hard surfaces (urban) it is also more comfortable. The Vibram 1757 gumlite can be a softer alternative for commando lugs for boots. If you need extra cushion comfort in a dress shoe - the Vibram 1716 oxford gumlite.

For me my favorite outsole is a single JR leather sole so far, I have a pair with house leather soles and vibram protania sole protectors as well and they seem less flexible than just leather soles alone but it's fine

Nice video, but for me the dainite style soles are the way to go. They kinda grow on me. 😊

I love my shoes configured with half rubber sole. Crespino for the dress shoes and explosion 2340 topy with 5340 explosion heel on everything else. Absolutely hate the vibram topy with the oval logo plastered all over.

Can you even tell the difference? I have the explosion all over my nicest dress shoes and love them. All of the TOPYES I’ve tried have been solid

@@Shellvedge that’s actually true and thats why I shipped the 5340 & 2340 to Haephestus for my pair

Man I need to go commando soon. I debate having an explosion on my leather sole often, but dainite, it's generally not my thing. WHen I hvave an explosion on my leather, I forget about going commando, but sometimes, going commando is more comfortable and provides more traction in certain slippery situations.

Going commando often leads to having an explosion half or full explosion by days end. But it’s typically all based on the terrain you’re plowing 🤔

Yeah, I love having explosions on my feet. IT feels really comfortable, moreso than dainite, to be honest. Not sure if it's the combination of explosion on leather. But I don't have much time going commando, so I gotta figure that out more and see if it is a comfortable way to travel

I like the Vibram explosion halfsole as well, I wish they were more readily available over Topy. SVIG is also another great halfsole option. I prefer the ITSHIDE over Dainite and Vibram. They have higher durability and don't bend much different in my experience.

Yeah itshide makes a nice commando sole although I think this vibram commando seems to be more solid.

Hello, wouldn’t it be better to glue with polyurethane glue type windshield glue or sikaflex pro? Unlike the neoprene glue this would ensure more water tightness? Thank you for the video this is excellent. Regards, jean

I don’t know. I think you have to be wary of anything that’s water tight or proof on a real leather shoe. Part of the benefit of the real leather components are the breathability, and how it helps to dissipate moisture. If you seal water from coming, you’re also sealing it from evaporating and getting out. I don’t know the answer but just an observation

Prefer Ridgeway over Dainite but agree overall

I had one pair of ridgeway and it was nice. A much different esthetic. Not sure it would work well on dress shoes but it may

I bought the Vibram 132 soles but they don't have both the little © and ® next to the yellow, only one of them is there, and also no "vibram" on the heel. Are they fake vibram?
@Shellvedge
@Shellvedge Год назад
Oh no, I don’t know. I’d check with vibram, maybe it is based on the country they’re retailed for as the IP may only be registered in certain geographic areas

Are you using the Vibram 100 or Vibram 132?

I’m not sure. You’d have to check with Antonio

Hate the Danite sole.

It’s definitely one of the more puzzling popular options. It really provides little in the way of top of class performance

Yep - Vibram Eton is much better for grip especially on slick hard surfaces like hardwood and tile.
