Am I the only one that will clear a whole shelf and pick and sort until I find the best pop that has the best paint job, check the hands, hair, and feet

Yeah box condition matters. As many I collect just for fun, because I like it. I’m not too picky when it comes to condition, but if it’s super minor where I know it’s not that big a deal then I’m good but if it’s really noticeable then nah. I’m not going to be collecting forever, so having the best possible box condition is a must for whenever I decide to get rid of my stuff. If it’s from 2015 and back then I’m not to picky about the condition

Heads up for anyone looking for the red eyes or black eyes golden frieza: if it has the little R with the circle around it next to the Pop logo, its fake.

How do you find out how many are made of each pop? And also how much can you find out how many will be made on pre order pops as well?

Most in box collectors are waiting for the price to go up and re-sell it .

I have 29 items in my collection with a 30th on the way (started collecting several years ago) but I'm pretty sure I'm still new to all of this.

Im happy my gf collects out of box all her boxes are in storage i dont like the look of inbox only g1 transformers lol

OOB collector here. I keep the boxes though so I only buy significantly damaged boxes if I’m told in advance and discounted but also my family has a habit of damaging by boxes so AI don’t sweat it to hard.

I was just able to pick up the six inch Mount Lady pop, which is Hot topic exclusive. Last in stock and Hot Topic isn’t overseas so it’s probably worth quite a bit, I still haven’t checked yet

Im a hardcore collector I had the chance for a hex girls funko. But i denied the funko even tho the dude lowered 25 bucks, it had a small little bent on the plastic...please...i cant change my ways...to this day i still hit myself for that chance

First thing I ever do when I buy a new pop is to destroy and trash the box! Anyway, I'm not selling them and they look better out of box IMO.

10,000 - 20,000?? Really? That's not mass production. More like over 100,000 at least. Maybe not 10 years ago but today that's for certain. Even the "Limited Edition" pops and exclusives will run about 20,000 or so. Funko is cashing in on their popularity and mass producing almost every pop out there. When was the last time a common pop was made that was difficult to find? Even exclusives to big stores like Target and Walmart are fairly easy to find. For this reason I have cut down on my collection considerably and only buy exclusives, Chase, or convention pieces. The only exception is if I really want it or need it as part of a specific collection such as Ninja Turtles or football teams. Otherwise I dont buy any at all. It's just not worth it.

New to Funko but I'm also a collector of action figures and robots. Yes its supply and demand but I have observed another thing that also appreciates an item's value is its pop culture or character's significance. Significance in a story, history, nostaliga or what it represents. Like an minor character before will have significant character development or twist Or if thats the only figure that this character has for this brand or the first (OG). Or this famous artist/celebrity died. Or an underrated series or movie that became famous and is now on mainstream media. So basically luck too. 😅
